My Place Hotel-Medford, OR — Hotel in Medford

As much as I would like to leave a positive review I simply can’t. Let’s start with what is good.

The rooms are clean and new and there was one gentleman and the front counter that was quite nice and helpful when I had some questions. But that’s about all I can say.

One the negative: They don’t under any circumstances allow early check in. When I arrived at noon there were 5 cars in the parking lot, were not booked the night before…but they said that they couldn’t allow a early checkin because housecleaning was still there and the manager hadn’t personally inspected the rooms. The concept of customer service seems lost on the manager at the time. There had to be at least one clean room (but I suspect about 90% of the rooms were empty the prior night).

The sundries while modest did have some variety, however they can’t charge them to your room. Had to pay with cash? Was quite odd.

The rooms facing the road are quite noisy and difficult to sleep in.

The beds are new but very basic and uncomfortable.

Under no circumstances there are late checkouts. Again, a completely unhelpful manager (same from the day before) has zero flexibility or common sense.

There is no shuttle to the airport so you are forced to run across a busy road with no cross walks.

For being a hotel right next to an airport I would expect much better common sense when it comes to travelers...

10/02/21--Not happy with the stay and won't be back again.

The My Place advertisement is deceptive. It states a clean room and a kitchen yet there is no mention on the website, nor at the front desk during check-in, about the room not being cleaned and no clean towels provided daily, and having to purchase or rent cooking and/eating utensils. The kitchen cabinets in our room were completely empty. I frequent Marriott Residence Inn or Hilton Homewood Suites so I will return to these and other brands instead.

If my brother and I were told at check-in about the requirement to purchase pots and pans, eating and cooking utensils, napkins, serving plates, etc., we might have thought about buying our own at Costco. However, it's a mood point since there is no dishwasher just a small sink. Don't waste your time here until you are just here to sleep. With no restaurants within walking distance you will definitely drive a few miles for breakfast, lunch and dinner. No creamer, except the nasty dry powder, for coffee so your more than likely not making coffee in the room. Very disappointing. Also, it's a challenge to find the parking lot entrance since Google Maps and Garmin don't know how to get here and there are no signs once at the one and only...

First time staying at a my place hotel. I love That the hotel was quite new so everything was neat and clean and not damaged and run down looking. Rooms were super comfortable, especially since you have a full-size refrigerator with an icemaker stove and microwave as well as coffee maker. Laundry facilities as well are available. Everything you need for an extended stay was perfect. They also are pet friendly. I like the fact that there is plenty of space and cupboards for storage, especially in the bathroom where there are large cubbies. Most hotels, barely give you anything but counterspace to put anything down. A couple of small details are that there is absolutely nothing to hold onto or hang anything inside the shower area. For anyone elderly climbing over the tub to get in and out was tricky. Wouldn’t be a big deal to just put some kind of a bar in the bathroom not only hang to a washcloth but to hold onto getting in and out. I think this chain has really done it right with the amenities and the ease of use provided with the kitchen and the laundry. Would stay there...
