I was slightly reluctant to book a stay here due to several reviews consistently pointing out a potential roach problem at this Hampton. I decided to book the stay anyway as this seemed to still be the best rated hotel in the area and the price was very fair for a Hampton. Upon my check in I was greeted with expert customer service and a nice, clean location that is located just far enough off of I75 and the adjacent bypass to drown out any road noise. When I entered my room I was pleasantly surprised. It was not hot and humid like some hotels. Instead the air felt light and the room had a nice fresh smell to it. No fake perfume smell or musty smell. The room was slightly rough around the edges in a few places but nothing at all that stood out to me as something that would bother me. (Frayed carpet, small stains on some of the walls). The microwave and refrigerator worked great and did not have any funky smells. All of the surfaces in the room were very clean and did not have a slimy, sticky residue like some hotels. I did an extra thorough sweep to check for any potential signs of roaches due to some of the other reviews I read. I checked behind and underneath the microwave, under the TV and every other item in the room that could be lifted, and in every place I could possibly find and found nothing alarming. I then moved on to my standard bed bug check that I always do without question. I stripped all of the bedding off of the bed and inspected the mattress itself up and down, front and back as well as the box springs. I found nothing alarming or that would indicate an infestation or any bed bug activity at all to me. The fitness center was a great addition and it was modernized and well equipped. The hotel is also located within a short 0.10 mile walk of a Walmart if you need to purchase anything while on the road. All in all I ended up receiving a great and comfortable night of sleep here with no bug issues and most importantly no NOISE issues even though I had guests staying all around me on the 3rd floor. I stay in 2-3 hotels per week and have grown to become a HUGE critic of hotels due to many having less than ideal cleanliness standards, but I can say with confidence that I will without question stay here again if I am ever in the area in the future and would highly recommend this Hampton to anyone who is considering...
Read moreI have been a loyal Hampton Inn customer for probably 20+ years. I always felt that I was guaranteed a clean and comfortable stay. Ever since Covid, I really think things have gone downhill and that management needs to be aware of these issues in order to maintain their brand image. Not thrilled with the lack of cleaning rooms, and cheapening out on the quality.
Originally booked two rooms for Thursday and Friday night, March 11th and 12th. I then found out that we needed to come a day earlier, so I booked another reservation for a Wednesday night. This seemed to cause great confusion with the staff. When we arrived, they gave us a king suite by accident, but we were so exhausted we decided not to deal with it and use the sleeper sofa. The sheets were dirty - there was an old hair tie left behind in staining on the sheets. They apologize and moved us to a double queen room, which is what we ordered in the first place. The hotel was under renovation, but nowhere was that stated when we were booking the reservation that this was the case. The room the ladies stayed in had paint stains on the desk, carpet, and bathroom floor. There was tape on the fire alarm. The elevator had cracked tiles that were held down with packing tape. They were wallpapering around the dining area. There were paint buckets left near the ice machines. What normally would be a great breakfast was a bit lackluster. There was no fresh fruit, it just seemed to be missing things. There was a large group of travelers and they all ate all potatoes (why are you not better prepared)? We tried to use our refrigerator in our room and found out that it didn’t work. My husband told the staff that I had a meeting and please just knock to clean that room and she will step out so they decided not to clean it instead. The last night, my husband tried his key card for the other room and it didn’t work. He went down to the desk and there were other guest trying to get into their room and their card didn’t work either. It turns out they were trying to get into the same room! The front desk was told on multiple occasions that they were two different reservations so they would need to clean the rooms, etc. When he finally entered that room, it was not cleaned as well. Staff were nice but that only...
Read moreWe came for a soccer tournament with our team. I had booked a pay in advanced room. Upon check in I was then charged two more times for a room already paid for. I notified the front desk who assured me this would be settled by check out. Upon checking out I was notified there was no manager to handle this and I would have to wait another day. The following day I was then charged a third time for a single night stay. Making this 4 charges for a single night stay. The general manager stated they would refund the TRIPLE overcharge, but also refund me for the initial stay for the inconvenience as well as give me 1,000 Hilton honor points. The refund was too take 3-5 days. Upon checking, I was issued a refund, but then my account was again debited the cost of the room. I called back and was told by the manager that she would talk to her district manager and call me the following day. The following day she stated that unfortunately because I booked a nonrefundable room I was not eligible for them to cover the cost for my inconvenience. When I said that that's what she offered and how could she just take that back her response was simply that she was sorry but I did get 1,000 Hilton honors points. Being unsatisfied, I contacted customer service who reached out to this general manager and they were hung up on by her 4 times. Customer service here was terrible and I would save myself the headache of staying here, unless paying 4x the amount for a single night stay with a complimentary breakfast with moldy bagels...
