Don't Go Here!!!! I was in poor health. I donate money to whatever homeless shelter and/or women's battered shelter is in my area. They staff with exception of one (the male front desk person) and maybe 2, (the African American overnight desk clerk) not sure either way about her, collectively got together to defraud me and help themselves to the monies I was donating by pretending they were either hungry (food poor) because of their spouses medical bills, or that their car had broken down. Or, they could not get to see their family. (the housekeeper on the 2rd floor actually stopped coming to my room for several days as a passive aggressive way of letting me know, she did not care for the fact that I did not offer to buy) 'quoted by her' a $1400 one way (she wanted both ways) ticket to India. Stating she could not afford the inflated airline prices. (Did anyone fly during the pandemic. I got quoted a round trip from Oh. to Tx with no notice for under $200 round trip. The blanton lies were overwhelming after awhile. She actually got mad that I didn't jump on the chance to pay for her ticket. I mentioned it to their staff and they basically defended her desire to go. She would also say how she lives there, but has no heat in the room they make her stay in. I was crying/ my own pity party one day over whether I would make it to my 50th birthday. One employee said she was turning 50 at the end of the week. Vicariously, celebrating her birthday every day that week, on my dime, of course. This was a month ago. It turns out she's 51 and her birthday is at the end of December. The manager calls my room to let me know, since letting them aware of their theft by deception, I was being asked to check out. I told her I was already packing and I would soon blast that hotel on Yelp and every other site I could think of. She yelled "you're gonna blast up the place". I simply felt annoyed at the dramatic insinuation that I was gonna what? Reach into my cosmetic carrier and grab my uzi! She said she was calling the police. She must have because within 10 minutes 3 police officers were banging down on my door. Only they, the police, and God knows what they said to have 3 police officers (without masks) come to expedite my leaving the property. These people systematically did everything they could to separate me from my money and then tried to take my freedom to cover up their nefarious criminal acts. I originally wrote a review on hotels.com thinking they were treating me like family, only if you're family is comprised of all opportunistic " a*" , complete "d's". They have no elevator. I had to pay $20 to have the manager and another employee help me carry my luggage up the stairs to my room. If you believe none of this could happen to you, let me tell you what you will experience. Housekeeping comes around 9-10am to collect dirty linens. (They don't replace them right then) 11 o'clock to or so to clean. And not until 3 o'clock or after will they bring sheets and towels to replace what they took at 9am. Some days I needed to stay in bed. Each time I'd have to explain/beg to replace my sheets right then. Why I had to say anything like that was Ludacris. They expected me to sit in the chair for 6 hours waiting on sheets. I suppose I could have bought my own set. I thought that a ridiculous option. I do know they keep a log and allow none of their cheap grey second floor towels or their 50 thread count sheets to go missing. Horrible excuses for human beings. Stay away, from the Middletown-Franklin, Ohio, Quality Inn & Suites .. And my report to Choice hotels corporate didn't even concern them enough for a return phone call. In 3 different choice hotels from Mason, Ohio to Miamisburg Ohio. It do dies speak volumes about their great guests and even better house keepers. A common thread was unscrupulous management in all 3. They do not have nor intend on having a working pool in any of those 3 hotels. Don't ever let that be a factor in your decision to stay at...
Read moreI was in Franklin for a concert & just needed a place to sleep. I think people expect Hilton experience for a budget hotel price. The room was clean, bug free, nice bedding, slept well. I had my own pillow, so I didn't try hotels out. They offered 4 pillows per bed. Pillows seemed to be nice but am pillow picky, so I pack my own. |The AC didn't seem to put out a lot of cold air. We left it on high while we went to concert. Temperature outside was in the 60's when we returned, so room temperature was ok. How would it have been if temperature was 80 overnight, I don't know. |No extra room in the bathroom, buy it got the job done. It does have a table & stool outside the bathroom. There is no mirror over the table or lights over table, if someone needed to use it for hair or makeup.|The bath towels were nice & thick. |It does have a closet with sliding door with full length mirror on the doors.|I didn't open the frig up, use the microwave or turn on the tv. |The carpet looked ok, if it was replaced, it would update the room but I appreciate $97 (AAA discount) for 2 Q beds on a Friday night. |If you have an issue climbing deep steps, make sure you get the bottom floor. I didn't see a sign for an elevator.|Breakfast is on 6a-9am. I was too tired at 8am to go down before a shower, so breakfast was over with shortly before we were ready to go down.|I would suggest for desk clerk to stay around the desk. It didn't take too long for him to show up to check in. I just laid key cards on counter when we checked out. I wasn't going to stand there for unknown time to say am gone. I hated not saying am gone, but if front desk can't be staffed at all times, I can't help just leaving.|There is multiple restaurants in the area to choose from.|Hotel is at the end of a dead end road. It appeared to had a building torn down before you got to the hotel. There is a lot for truck/camper/bus parking. |I would stay again if I am ever back in the area & just needed a hotel for sleep only. I enjoy outdoor pools in the summer, if I have time to get in 1. That is the only thing the hotel didn't have besides an...
Read moreI want to take this opportunity to complain about my worst experience at a choice hotel. My wife and I checked into Quality Inn and Suites on Culbertson Rd, Middletown, Ohio quite late on Tuesday Night, May 24 2016. We have been checking into this Inn once or twice a year over the past 10 years because we stop and visit our granddaughters in the area on our travels between Vermont and Arizona. In the past the Inn has been very accommodating to us and our pet by allowing to stay in a room having a room number 136 or less. Since we are elderly and handicapped this helps because it shortens the walk to let out the dog, the walk to and from breakfast, and the walk to and from the main desk. In addition there is no smoking residue or smell along the corridor. On the May 24th occasion we arrived about 10:30 at night and were given a room in the old quarters having a 200 number. The hallway smelled of cigarette smoke and the room itself was damp and moldy smell to it. Both of these things activated our allergies. We walked back to the main desk and asked for a room along the 100s corridor (where we have stayed in the past). We were told that it was against policy and that we had been assigned a room that was pet designated. The night manager, Heather, telephoned the general manager, Andrew Rushing, to explain our situation and receive the OK to change our room. The general manager, not talking to us at all, instructed Heather not to change our room. Since, from a health standpoint, this was unacceptable we were forced to cancel our reservation and look for accommodation at another Inn in the area- this at about 11 PM at night. This so-called policy is one that we have not experienced at other choice hotels and wonder if it actually exists. In any event, we stayed the night at another Inn and were satisfied with the treatment that we received there. We will continue to use the features of Choice Hotels, but our treatment at the Culbertson Road Quality Inn has been the worst we have...
