Gold Star — Restaurant in Middletown

What can I say about this place it's different and for me it's new! I just moved to Ohio and I found out that Ohio is known for their chili.

Gold Star Chili had me curious as I look at it from across the street from the hotel we were staying at and one day i finally got the courage to go and taste the food and I was a little thrown back by what makes this an experience. The young staff were very nice and courteous and very respectful they took my order and a no time I got my food. My fault I didnt inspect the food that I got and saw they messed up the order. As I ate the food I noticed that they were very chilly oriented. the chili had a taste that I'm not used to but it wasn't bad. Im from the East Coast so I expect chili to be more Saucy more spicy so it was a different texture and consistency that sweet ive never had with chili before. Im more of a chuck chili guy then saucy if u get what i mean

they put chili on everything even pasta so get ready for that. their garlic fries are not the garlic fries again I'm used to neither.they were a little bit more tart & creamy then stadium garlic fries. if you like adventuring into the chilly world...

I have just left there and had NEVER had a bad experience until NOW!. The guy I believe he's Indian must have been new but when taking my order was not really listening and talking/rushing over me although nice he kept his mic on so I heard everything he was relaying to the crew. Received my order by a woman who was very nice. I got home and the fries was fresh and hot but my hotdog was extremely COLD....I called just to let them know and the same guy that took my order said he remembers me said that he's sorry there is nothing he can do about it... that everything he put out was fresh and that the chili was 185 degrees hot but he's sorry there is nothing he can do and he then hung up on me. Please whatever you do DO NOT GO HERE. PLEASE TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSE WHERE. I believe he might have been the owner. I feel bad for the workers. They should run the place. I got better...

I ordered thru Door dash which I know has had some issues. But my issue is with the store and the 2nd shift manager Michael which I got into a heated confrontation with. Yes I got upset and cussed by when I placed a big order and you forgot part and started to deny at first then finally admitted you messed up I have a problem. Then manager started too cuss at me more than I did at him calling me names. Yes I admit I was wrong for cussing but I only get credits on door dash not my money back I have a bit of an issue. Hope that management or the owner speak with me because I do frequent this location as im in the area quite often. So disappointed but let me guess customer is always wrong manager is always right??
