Nobody seems to mention this. The TRAINS are so loud during the night. Between 9 pm - 2 am 3-5 trains a night. If you are working day or night shift, this place isn't the place to stay. The fire trucks go by many times a day too. There is no fan in the bathroom, the air from other bathrooms vents into yours. The smells are terrible. The service of rooms was terrible. The housekeepers would put dirty dishes into a clean dishwasher and rerun it. They didn't even look, it happened on 3 different occasions. Asking for the room to be cleaned on different occasions was like pulling teeth. They didn't clean for two days in a row. They said I was on a list and they still didn't do it. The front desk people were nice. $1.50 to wash clothes for 36 minutes and then $1.50 for 45 mins (their sign is wrong- it says 35 minutes). I had to restart the dryer twice with 2 different dryers. Spent 90 mins drying and $6. The woman at the front desk on nights said they don't refund. "It's not my fault they don't dry." I didn't say was her fault, but $6 plus the $1.50 to wash is nuts. Cheaper to go to a laundromat. The gym was very nice, the only thing was the heat increased for two days from 65° to 75°. There is no airflow in the gym and if nobody washes off their machines bacteria start to grow. People are smoking weed in their rooms and then it appears in my room. Staff doesn't care. If you don't want to wake up to weed smoke or have your room smell like it,...
Read moreI stayed here for one night on a family trip to Minooka to visit my brothers. The property itself is celan and the staff very friendly. In my case, I upgraded from a studio to a one bedroom suite. The room itself was clean and I must say very roomy. The only negative thing I noticed was the distinct smell of mold. I don't know if there was a leak or flood recently but you could smell it big time. ||||The REAL issue with this hotel is that it may be haunted. During my night's stay, the door to my bedroom mysteriously swung open, even after shutting it and waiting for the distinctive "click". I also heard howls and clanking chains. There is no way this was a dog or some other pet staying at the hotel because I was in a corner suite. Turns out the hotel itself is super close to a well known haunted cemetary. Locals tell me the hotel is built on a Potowannami Indian burial ground. ||||In the back of the hotel is a garbage enclosure (between hotel and BP next door). Atop the brick wall is a giant faux owl that is supposed to scare away animals. At night, that owl looks very real. ||||I would stay here again but would probably need to take sleeping meds to get through the night because of the paranormal activity. The...
Read moreJulia runs a wonderful team there at Minooka. My experience at this new Hotel was very memorable and excellent. Your team there shows how a property should be run for guest comfort. The outside seating area and Fire Pit area were always clean and free of trash, this does not happen always at other hotels. I usually stay in Joliet but due to them being booked I moved to Minooka and I am glad I did.
Your Staff at Minooka was GREAT. From the General Manger (Julia) down to Vivian who works on the breakfast bar show they care about the hotel and the guests. Every member of the staff was cordial (especially Amy who works the front desk) and friendly. All of the front desk people give you a warm hello and a smile. This either starts your day or ends your day in the perfect way. The maid service was Top Notch, my room was always clean and I never was out of clean...
