Extended Stay America Select Suites - Destin - US 98 - Emerald Coast Pkwy. — Hotel in Miramar Beach

If I could give half a star I would these rooms and for the price were crazy. I felt safe yes but homeless people sleeping out side the backdoor. Drunk people in the stairwells and one guy urinated in the stair well... Absolutely gross. The other stair wells going from the 2nd floor to ground floor smelled like pee nobody mopped it they just put a wet floor sign out.

It smelled like pee it stunk you had ro hold your breathe going up the stairs. 3rd floor smelled like smoke and pot we stayed on 2nd floor room 209 .

There was an argument one night people slamming doors. One guy was yelling the n word up and down the halls. Called fd nothing was done was woken up several times between 12 2 and 4am by same people above us.

Our door to our room The lock was broken We told the front desk So we can have maintenance come fix it We were there for over a month nobody came to fix it we reported the problem several times, it was never fixed. Safety concern.

The fridge was good except for it was going out and it would turn on and off every so often.

AC I'm not sure what was wrong with that but it felt like some type of smoke or bad air was coming out when you breathed it in hurt our lungs.

Definitely need to take out the curtains and the dust ruffles on the bed they had so much dust on them they don't clean those or change them out. Literally every night we are sneezing having to take allergy pills it smelled like dust in the whole entire room even after cleaning it multiple times myself could barely breathe in there.

Every time I woke up my eyes were stinging these rooms need to be cleaned a lot better just replace the curtains with some blinds get rid of the lamp shades those are covered in dust dirt windows need to be cleaned on the inside and outside.

The laundromat was good except for the prices were extreme $3 to wash and $3dry if somebody popped open your washer then you had to redo it again definitely watch your clothes.

Front desk lady was nice the one who wore glasses she was sweet. Overall only Stay here if your last resort fwb extended stay is a lot cleaner but they are both over priced. Avoid at all costs.

I figured being in Destin this would be a lot cleaner under staffed with housekeepers for sure needs revamping remove the carpets bc they all smell like pee. Elevator was Janky but when we were leaving they were fixing it but it was going to be down...

We have stayed in ESA before many times. My husband travels for work too so we have seen some hotels. For $360/night, this was very disappointing. Our kitchenette room with 2 queen beds was so small, they had no nightstands, a table pushed in the corner and the bathroom barely had room to open the door and it still hit the cabinets. The room seemed clean but you look around and see water damage and the cabinets falling apart (it got the particle wood all over the floor which then got on the towels and everything else. The pillows were so flat that my neck and shoukders hurt when i woke up, 3 pillows per bed, not 4 like the nornal standard. The AC worked really good but that's the only thing that impressed me. We got home from dinner about 1030 pm and circled the parking lot to park and couldn't find a spit that wasn't taken by someone sitting and drinking/smoking on the side our room was on. There were 8 people outside drinking and hanging out, in 2 or 3 separate groups. 🤔 we went and parked on the opposite side to avoid any issues with the party people. We went downstairs for "breakfast" before they closed it at 930 am....only to find packaged instant grits, oatmeal, muffins, fig bars 🤮, and coffee. THATS IT! NO JUICE OR REAL BREAKFAST. This is what I call the covid breakfast because since 2020 hotels think this is acceptable for "breakfast" when guests pay over $300/night. I've spent more on this hotel than I did for 2 nights in a condo ON THE BEACH. We miss booked our airbnb for one day too short and we paid more to stay ONE MORE NIGHT than we did for 4 days prior to this. The main point is this hotel is not worth the price. The elevator was broken when we arrived and they asked us to switch rooms to accommodate a handicap guest as they overbooked their hotel and they said they couldnt (again we know thats a lie) discount either room to accommodatetheir mess up. The stair well was disgusting and looked like it had never been cleaned. The staff was nice but what does that matter when you feel robbed for one night. I can say next time we come to Destin, we will make sure to overbook in the airbnb to avoid all the mentioned...

5 star staff, 2.5 star room.

The front desk staff earned this hotel and extra star because they truly are some of the best I've seen and I travel a lot. Enthusiastic helpful and friendly.

I got a good price on a third party app so I gave it a shot even though I normally don't like extended stay Americas.

Room was small, bed was small, TV was small and there's very little privacy from the door connecting the room next to me as I could hear their conversations and TV even though it wasn't exceptionally loud. Also not much privacy between the rooms in the hallways and when you walk down the hallway you know exactly what on some people's TVs and can overhear the conversations in many cases.

I opened the window while I was cooking something and later realize there was no screen to keep the bugs out.

There's only one elevator and I needed an excuse for exercise so I went up and down the stairs mostly and that is one area of the property that is not cleaned regularly and there are people who'll left beer bottles and cigarette butts and ashes all over the stairs. Hallway on 3rd floor smelled like wet dog.

There's no trash can in the room but the hot water was very hot. Full size refrigerator but you have to ask for anything extra like pots and pans or a coffee maker. I would suggest washing the coffeemaker yourself even though it's wrapped in plastic and told it was sanitized you can see from the picture that you might want to be skeptical of that claim.

Like I said the front desk staff and even the maids were quite friendly and hospitable. I left my watch charger in the room and called hours after checkout and the maid had it on her cart and I'll go back to pick it up later- honest staff and appreciated 👍

I would only recommend staying here if you get a very good price and just needed a bed...
