We were in 15 e. The location was nice, it was close to the pool and one of the closer units to walk to the beach. We were not happy that we could not get in at 4 as they had just started cleaning it. We also had a dog with us so you couldnt leave him anywhere because it was so hot. WE weren't able to get in til 5. They had offered to get us passes and we were like ok. Then they came back and said we will give you late check out. We said that is not going to do us any good, we have a 15 hour+ drive to get home so we are leaving early in the morning. They are ok let me go see and then they never came back or said anything. Don't offer us something and then take it back and do nothing, that is ridiculous. THey said if we tried to check in early it would cost extra money but we certainly didnt get any money back for them being late. THe condo itself was nice however for them just getting done cleaning the floors were filthy. I know we brought it some dirt but our feet were black and we actually had to where socks the whole time we were there because the floors were that dirty. WE had the bedroom closest to the restroom and I dont think it has been cleaned underneath for awhile. WE actually had to sweep the floors that same day even though they had just cleaned it. The condo itself though was nice though and it served its purpose. THere were alot more towels though than wash rags. The pool area was nice and there were bathrooms right there which were good. The bad thing walking to the beach is you have to walk on the roadway because there is no sidewalks. THe private beach access was nice but they said you need a code to get in and out and thats not true anymore because its broken so anyone can go in and out. Overall it wasnt bad but it was just disappointing about getting in late and how dirty the...
Read moreOlder condo complex build in the 80's but well maintained. I stayed in unit 1304 2 bed 2 bath with my wife and 4 daughters 9 yr, 4 yr, 2 yr and 3 month old. It was plenty of room for us. The living room has a couch-bed but we didn't use it. The top priorities for me for this trip were close to the beach, low cost since we were staying 2 weeks, and private laundry. Also a positive about this unit is the Air conditioner worked great. Nothing worse than a sunburn and a AC unit that cant keep the house cool enough. The washer and Dryer were located in the balcony closet which is a great Idea to prevent extra heat load on the AC. The pool was nice, I expected it to be over crowded but it never was even during the 4th of July week. Two minor things the recliner was not very comfortable and you have an actual key to keep up with. It would be nice if they upgraded the lock to a number code lock but those things bring up cost so I was fine with having a key. Minor critiques that didn't have an impact on the awesome time we had. You can rent paddle boards and kayaks right at the steps of the private beach which was great. We stayed for 2 weeks and will be back. The free WIFI was sufficient. There is no beach view and it is not advertised so I'm not sure why someone would be surprised by this. This was a great family...
Read moreTo correct the others that have posted previously...it is not a private beach but a private beach access rather. Meaning that only guests can use the walkway to get to the beach. And regardless, why is it such a big deal to have a private beach? I rarely get to even see the beach anymore from the over abundance of resorts and hotels that provide a place to stay to people who come down for short periods of time and have the nerve to complain about their "private beach" not being private. I am not by any means saying don't come...I am just saying, please try to respect the local populace when visiting (especially while driving) You should realize that if you are late, oh well you missed a half hour at the beach or your dinner reservation...if I am late, I may very well lose my job. Don't drive 30mph in a 55mph zone and back up traffic just because you want to see the palm trees that aren't even native to this area in the first place.
With that said, Chateau la Mer is a fantastic place...I enjoy every moment I spend at our unit. Even though I live locally, its nice to have a quaint little place like this to come relax and escape on a...
