Chicken Salad Chick — Restaurant in Destin

Went in to try them today because of the Veteran Discount promotion being offered by the chain. None of the cashiers knew about the Veterans Day Promotion and needed a manager to explain what it was. Finally got our order in and sat down. After 11 minutes of waiting I asked the cashier if she knew when we would get our food and got a nonchalant "the kitchen is trying to catch up, sorry," as she kept walking. There were literally only 8 people in the restaurant at the time and most of them already had their food when we sat down. It is not like they are cooking anything to catch up on. The cashier finally delivered our food without a word at a little over 15 minutes. It takes 15 minutes to create cold premade chicken salad on bread and a cup of soup? The food was ok but nothing special. For a place that only serves chicken salad I expected it to be amazing. We did get a bit of dessert in the form of a mini cookie that seems provided with every meal. That was a nice touch and I did enjoy the Vitamin Water in the soda dispenser. The facility needs a lot of TLC to get it too a pleasant finished state. There is trim missing, poor paint job with bare spots and other details that were just not completed it seems, and a carpenter that can't cut a straight line. Overall I would have given 2.5 stars if I could. I may give the chain another chance at a different location, but the service, cleanliness and condition of this location will probably not get me back...

I would rate more than 5 stars if possible!! I love chicken salad chick and always eat here when I’m out in Destin! This time was extra special because Ethan went above and beyond on customer service from the beginning, it was my spouses first time eating here so we requested two samples and even though they were short staffed and had a backed up line to the door he had no problem with getting us the samples and being patient and even giving us his advice! This meant a lot, but then we were missing a side (no biggie mistakes happen) and I told him and he got the side for us and even offered us a free cookie (which was not expected at all) this customer service is extraordinary!! Really important edit! I would prefer this franchise run establishment over other Chicken Salad Chicks I have eaten at in the past. The store was very well kept and the manager was very nice. Overall, I would recommend this store to anyone who is in the Destin Area for a light meal that truly satisfies one's soul. Even though the restaurant originally started in Alabama, they have brought the hospitality and welcome feeling that I always look forward to after a full day of shopping. I also enjoyed the music taste and the manager and workers were welcoming as well as provided different suggestions that were similar to the foods that I was originally looking for. I did have an issue with the staffing before; however, the manager personally reached out to me and made sure that the issue was taken care of swiftly.
