MANAGEMENT TEAM TRIED TO BREAK INTO MY ROOM USING LOCKPICKING TOOLS WHILE I WAS SLEEPING I booked Hyatt Place Moab for 4 nights. The most ridiculous thing happened on the 2nd day. I came late the 1st night, so I decided to take a nap. A wood-scratching sound woke me up. Imagine my shock and fear when I saw someone using lockpicking tools to break into my room. I did not dare to open the door. The man on the other side answered he is a housekeeper. I did not believe in him and called the front desk to report that someone was trying to enter my room illegally. They then confirmed that it was part of their routine housekeeping. I called 911. The policeman came to them first and then to me. According to him, many people came to Moab to suicide, excuses like that. I requested a written report repeatedly, but he did not approve. Later I felt they were obviously friends in such a small town. I should know that earlier in our conversation. I asked the management team why they did not use a room key. They answered it was because I signed for a DND (Do Not Disturb) form, and they are not allowed to use room keys. (So they are allowed to use lockpicking tools???) I am shocked by their saying. The female manager admitted she approved this action because they were worried about me. No one answered them two hours ago after knocking at my door. So they directly tried to break into my door without even attempting to call the room or my phone. I am a solo traveler. Who knows what kind of crime could happen after they break into my room? Apparently, Hyatt staff can pick your room lock at whatever time without any suspect and police supervision, even if you use a deadbolt. The general manager said it was the corporate policy, and they felt no guilt at all. Other than the master key, the lockpicking tool leaves no trace in the system. What if I were to be robbed or physically abused while I was asleep? I felt terrified and decided to check out on that day. This place is too dangerous to live. Btw, when I proposed to check out early, the front desk literally said, “I cannot because I do not want to,” and “You are giving us a hard time, so why to give you an easy one?” The place is like a gangster without law. RUN AWAY before something terrible happens! Best, Shaojie

Do not stay in room # 220. There is something in the maintenance room below which emits a loud noise (like a motor) and makes the room vibrate and rattle loudly. It turned on and off every couple minutes all day and night making it difficult to relax and sleep even with earplugs. Around 11:30pm I called the front desk to resolve - the staff member "Colton" said he hadn't heard of the issue and refused to look into it to see if it could be fixed. I then walked down to the lobby to speak with a manager. I found only Colton playing Xbox on his laptop and had to waive for him to stop. Again, Colton refused to check out the noise and after several awkward minutes of trying to get a resolution he said the only thing he could do was offer a 15% discount which is not worth a sleepless night before a long travel day. I walked outside to determine the noise and found it was not coming from anything outside the building. There is a "staff only" maintenance room directly below ours which must be the source of the noise. I'm disappointed in this hotel; it started out great - the bar tender and food staff were amazing, kind and efficient - the drinks and food were great. I wish the rest of the experience had been the same. I understand Colton couldn't call maintenance unless it was an emergency but he should have made an effort to find the source of the noise and attempt to fix if possible or offer a better discount. UPDATE: The next morning we spoke with manager Isaiah who was very kind and apologetic. He offered to credit us 5,000 hyatt points and was the best they could do. This helps but I feel like it should have been more. We spent 10,000 hyatt points plus $95 to get the room so this only covered half the used points.

Very knowledgeable and friendly staff, overall good experience. A few things could have been better. For more than $200 a night I would have expected better than one ply toilet paper that feels like tree bark 😳. It's a hotel, not a truck stop, Hyatt! You can do better than that. On the other side of the coin, the heated pool outside in the cool night air, against the starry sky is very beautiful and relaxing. It's a lovely amenity. my wife and I enjoyed this very much, sitting in the hot tub and watching the steam go up into the night. Right behind the hotel is an incredible restaurant called the sunset grill that I highly recommend. It's up the canyon wall and sits on the shelf. A beautiful piece of historic americana. The hotel is only about 10 minutes away from the sand dunes park, and arches National Park, not to mention a bevy of other lovely Moab destinations for adventure seekers. If you get the chance, book a reservation in advance with the zipline tour company that is a short walk from the hotel front door on the same side of the street. Those folks fill up fast! All in all, this is a great place to stay for the night and it wasn't noisy at all. I got a great night's rest, and everyone was friendly and cheerful. The manager on duty downstairs at the checkout counter was a Moab local who gave me wonderful advice about sites to see, and in my opinion, that kind of service is what makes a hotel stay that much better. It's not just somebody who answers the phone, it's a knowledgeable concierge who is there to help you enjoy your time in their community and I love that so much.

This is my review of our stay last night at the Hyatt Place Moab. I did a lot of research and review reading for 3 properties and finally chose this one based on reviews, the views and the pool looked the most relaxing and inviting. Check in: I would give this by itself a 5 star review. It was fast and easy and the gal was very nice. The pool. Yes, view was great and it looked very nice. However, I did not get to enjoy it. There were not any loungers. I went at 615pm. There were a very few straight chairs to sit in but I wanted to relax. I did go to the front desk on our way to dinner to make a complaint. The guy took our room number and said he would pass it on so that our next visit would be better. I just looked at him and explained that we wouldn’t have another visit as this was a one time vacation. So then he said he would make it better for others after us. The pool part 2. I did go down after dinner around 9 pm to do some work and enjoy the evening. While there I counted loungers. There were 12 total. 6 nice ones that were woven and reclined and 6 hard plastic ones that you really couldn’t lounge in because they can’t be adjusted. They need double the loungers and all of them need to be the nicer ones. Definitely not enough for the amount of rooms. Lobby. Lobby area was clean and inviting. Room. Room matched photos and description online. Clean and larger than most. I did make the mistake and booked and actually got a handicap accessible room. Walk in shower was nice. It had a fold down chair. I being my own soap and shampoo and there was no where to put in the shower. Shower was nice and water was really hot. Downsides were the shower is walk in/roll in and it needs to have a drain on the outer edge. There was a lake when you came out of it. Also the towels are no where near the shower. They are in the next room under the sink. Bed was comfy but air conditioner was loud. What time is check out? Pretty disappointed that check out is 11 am and at 815 the maid was knocking to clean the room. Breakfast: Continental. One review said it was the worst. Nah, for a Hyatt, that has to be really bad. Okay, not the worst I’ve ever had but a close second. I came out with …. Bacon and OJ. Husband went before me and said there was fruit. Yeah! Fresh fruit! Fresh out of the can. The food area was a mess. It looked like a hog trough but I would not fault the employees for this. It was busy and the guests were just making a mess. The employees that I saw were doing their best. Front desk part 2. I actually went to get a receipt because mainly I wanted to see if the guy from last night made any sort of note. Nope. The young man that checked me out was nice. He asked how the stay was and I told him that honestly it was not good and that I would be writing a review. He apologized but did not ask for details. I then asked for a card with the manager info and told him I was going to copy them on my email to Hyatt customer service. He gave me the Asst. Mgr card and then said he would write the manager’s info on it. Then he made a comment that she was standing right next to him! So I repeated her email to him out loud and he confirmed it. At this point she was not helping anyone. So here is the manager, knowing she has a customer not happy and she is doing absolutely nothing!!! For someone with 36 years of management experience that is totally unacceptable! For as much as Hyatt charges, it was not worth it. I was so looking forward to it and was so...
