If a company’s management team chooses to respond to customers with false information and altered facts without looking at all of the evidence, we implore the public to think about how patrons will be treated and deceived in person.

Update: 8/1/25 We are so happy that Moab Touring Company (MTC) responded to our review-- We fully expected their response to be unapologetic and callous: as to seeing their other responses from other customers of less than 5 stars.

As we mentioned, we were following the directions from the MTC 8-minute safety video provided and from the prompt Jess gave us. On the road, we tried to stay as close as possible (one ATV length between each vehicle). Going through cross traffic, stoplights, and intersections, we all were cautions of traffic. There were gaps at points driving through town. Trying to keep up and getting acclimated to the ATV driving.

Also as mentioned- When Jess called out to the group over the walkie talkies, no one knew who she was specifically calling out to. Nor was there any corrective information given as to what she was seeing anyone do from, we presume, her rearview mirrors.

When we got to the park entrance and Jess pulled us all over to publicly scold us for something that we didn't even know we were doing, is clearly the epitome of how customers are treated not only with Jess, but how MTC management reacts to online reviews.

A message to Jess- Instead of lashing out to customers who were legitimately trying to do the right thing, teach them what you want them to do. Explain what you saw from your rearview mirror and take corrective actions. This is called a "teachable moment." You're lucky enough to do what you do as a career. We are all learning. Now we're here... on the internet... where it's "forever."

Original Message to MTC on 7/31/25: Extremely Disappointing and Unprofessional Experience

From the moment we arrived, we were told how "awesome" our guide Jess was supposed to be--unfortunately, that couldn't have been further from the truth. The tour started with a short drive through town, and at one point Jess called over the walkie-talkie mentioning that the group wasn't staying in line, without specifying who she was talking to. Moments later, as we entered the Hell's Revenge trail, Jess abruptly pulled everyone over and stormed over to our ATV. She raised her voice and scolded us in front of the entire group: "If YOU can't stay in line, I'm ENDING this tour right now! I swear, I'll turn this group around RIGHT NOW!"

We were stunned. We had no idea her earlier comment was directed at us, and from our perspective, we were following the vehicle in front exactly as instructed. Being publicly yelled at and threatened with tour cancellation felt completely uncalled for. We're not kids--this was a trip we paid for, and her aggressive tone was not only disrespectful but also incredibly unprofessional.

To be clear: these are bumpy, loud ATVs on rocky, unfamiliar terrain--we weren't out there trying to "freestyle" or go rogue. We were doing our best to stay safe and follow directions. Her overreaction ruined what was supposed to be a fun, bucket-list adventure for us. As fellow professionals, we expected better treatment and communication.

We absolutely do not recommend Moab Touring Company based on this experience. What should've been thrilling and memorable turned into a stressful, uncomfortable outing we couldn't...

My two friends and I walked in at 9:45 am on Halloween. We had no clue what we were doing and weren’t even sure what a UTV was. Truthfully I thought my day would entail doing donuts in the sand. We were promptly greeted and directed to the cheapest (best) option and a detailed video informed us how to not destroy the rental. (Note: doing donuts in the sand is one of the ways.) We were offered a complimentary cooler and blankets as it was a nippy morning.

Then that’s where the magic began. Tom, who was a total dreamboat, came out to greet us and was the photographer in our amateur insta photoshoot with the UTV. He explained something on a map for a good ten minutes. Luckily my friends were listening because I was too distracted by his good looks to comprehend anything he was saying.

We got up to Fins and Things, which was great for three beginners like us. 10/10 highly recommend. Then we went to the next location recommended by dreamboat Tom, Hells Revenge. It was appropriately named. My immediate thought on this route was, “Wow! If we make a slightly wrong move we will totally plummet to our deaths!” Some people like that stuff, so I was willing to risk it for a biscuit. We carried on. And as the hills (mountains, cliffs, whatever you want to call them) steeply climbed, so did our anxiety. I remember watching other vehicles tackle these nearly vertical surfaces, and thinking it totally defied everything I knew about science. We frequently got out of the UTV to ensure we weren’t about to drive ourselves off a complete drop off.

Remember that science experiment you did as a kid, where you dropped the egg off the balcony and hoped it was padded enough for it to not crack? I wondered if the UTV was enough padding to save us from imminent death as we dropped off the edges of these rocks.

Needless to say, we turned around just after the dinosaur tracks. This was the highlight of the trip (next to Tom’s smile). Maybe they were fake. I’m sure there was someone out there watching me with binoculars thinking “haha these suckers really think these little bumps in the rock are dinosaur prints” but I didn’t even care. In that moment, I was so thankful to be alive. Those sweet sweet dinosaur tracks provided me with the hope and respite I needed to carry on.

We made it back in one piece. When we told Mr McDreamy how terrifying that was, he chuckled and said, “on a scale of 1-5 that was considered a 2!” I was slightly angered by this, but his looks made up for it.

Most people probably would have had the time of their lives doing this. However, for the sake of living to see another day, that is the last time of my life I would be doing that.

I would like to thank the Moab Tour Company for the great experience that I enjoyed while on their Moab Poison Spider tour. The manager Doricca was very friendly and helpful while setting up my tour and getting me prepared for my adventure. The short training video I viewed before we embarked on our tour was informative. I had the choice of using a Honda Talon 1000R or a Polaris RXR XP 1000, I chose the Honda. Both the Polaris and Honda machines were in like new condition. While I have not had a lot of experience with SxS machines while rock climbing, the Honda provided for a go anywhere, enjoyable ride with no drastic surprises.

My tour guide for the five hour tour was John Fate. I basically followed John in the lead SxS the entire trip which made the tour stress free for me as I knew we were not going to get lost. I really appreciated the knowledge, professionalism, detail to safety and the concern for preserving the natural habitat that John showed during the tour. It’s people like Doricca, John and those at the Moab Tour Company who work hard to provide an exciting and responsible tour while providing a safe and environmentally mindful experience. The rental and tour fees are quite reasonable considering the cost of buying, transporting, maintaining and insuring your own SxS machine. I understand that one can bring along their own machine for a guided tour at reasonable fee. The Moab area is vast, it is well worth the money to travel with someone who is quite familiar with the area. My visit to Moab was a magical experience in both landscape and people. I hope to be...
