This is my first 1 star review.
We were seated promptly and waited at our table for a little over 20 minutes before someone came to our table. They only did come because I had to wave down another waiter to ask who our waiter was. At that point, I felt like our table of 4 adults and 4 kids was a throw-away table. I have been a server before and when a table has been waiting for that long without service, no one wants to be the waiter to that table.
It took another 10-15 min to get our drinks, at which our entire order was taken. We received 1 more refill, and that was all the entire time we were there. It took another 10 min after that to get our salads, of which they were "pawned off" to us and a different expo/busser gave us our salads. We never received bread. After about 10 minutes, I waved down another busser and asked for bread. 5 min later, I waved down another one and asked for bread, and she brought us the bread. Idk if the server ever noticed. We waited another 15-20 minutes for our food...hoping that it would redeem the worst service experience we have been through.
NO. It did not. My salmon was $25 bucks and I could have made it better. The rice was bland with no seasoning. The veggies were subpar. The Mac and cheese was kraft mac & cheese and cost $7-$8, and they threw on some mozzarella, which actually made it worse.
The other people in my party got one of the specials, a big steak, and something else I forgot. Everyone said it was...okay. It was satisfactory. When you spend THIS MUCH money at a restaurant, you should be receiving exemplary flavors and service.
Now, to top it off- the owner is interactive and goes from table to table with comments here and there, came up to our table a couple of times and made jokes rather than notice our empty glasses. The table across from us was celebrating an anniversary, and the owner volunteered one of his teenage servers to serenade them during the dinner rush. At this time, the waiter FINALLY was bringing out our food, and he had to pass the singing waitress, causing her to stop so he could pass and bring out each plate, while the owner made jokes (to the entire room) about her being "interrupted" rather than help put our food down or anything. He personally knew how long we had waited to be seen at the beginning because he came up to us to tell us our waiter was on the way, yet didn't care enough to help.
This grand gesture for this random couple was waaaay over the top. Can you imagine how many couples come to this restaurant celebrating their anniversary? I imagine quite a bit, considering the price and the menu. If it's a birthday, it makes sense to stop and sing when that's expected...but an anniversary?
TL;DR- Go somewhere else. Basically, we were treated as a nuisance table the minute we were sat and were continued to not be helped through the remainder of our visit. The food was bland, the presentation was awful, and the only thing keeping us sane was our phones we have to our toddlers to entertain. Thank God for that, since we were sat at 5:45 and didn't leave til 7:50. For $120, plus tip, we got 2 plates of kraft mac and cheese, salmon with rice and the special (fish of some kind).
The Spoke on Main is a much, much better option and at half the...
Read moreLet me say that I had such high hopes for this place. Iâve waited almost a week to see if I had changed my mind before leaving this review. I have not. After reading everyone elseâs reviews I was hoping the lower rated reviews were flukes. They were not. In fact, a couple of them were spot on.
For example, we also had Abby as our server and she was wonderful! The view was incredible. The mini loaves of bread were tasty! The asparagus was good and properly cooked. It is for those reasons alone, this review isnât 1-star.
Letâs start off with drinks and appetizers. The specialty virgin drinks were glorified snow cones. Where the syrup and flavor would be slurped up and you were left with a cup of ice. The appetizers were not good. The artichoke baguette things were actually kinda gross. The bread that comes with the bruschetta tasted stale.
The kidâs macaroni, I swear it was craft macaroni and cheese. Over cooked and soggy. Topped with breadcrumbs and cheese. My younger children love Mac and cheese. Didnât know you could mess it up. But somehow $13 Mac and cheese was pretty terrible.
The prime rib; my two sons are carnivores. They love all meat. But they did not love the prime rib. They passed it to me to try, I honestly doubt the cut was âprimeâ or even âselect.â It was very stringy and had lots of connective tissue and was very tough. I had to use a lot of strength and muscle to cut it. One son ordered his medium, it arrived rare. The other ordered his medium rare, it arrived rare. They didnât mind because theyâre carnivorous teenage boys.
My wife had the seared prime rib special. It was properly cooked to her liking, but just not very good. Like I said, I think the cuts of meat were very poor. My wifeâs biggest complaint was her plate was too small, she couldnât even maneuver things around to even cut her meat.
I had the Linguini Olivia. I usually order the prime rib, ribeye, or NY strip anytime Iâm out to dinner, but I really wanted to try it. The pasta was over cooked. My first bite I found a long hair I pulled out of my mouth intertwined with the pasta. Somehow, the crab meat and shrimp were way over seasoned. It tasted like it was seasoned and cooked. Then incorporated with the pasta dish and seasoned and cooked again. The entire dish was over seasoned. It was so salty all I could do was pick the shrimp off.
I brought my family here hoping for a wonderful experience. Fortunately, the service was great. But the food was terrible. I wouldnât have cared how much the bill was if it was better.
For the amount of money spent on these dishes, it should have been better. We did not finish our food. We did not care to take any of it home in boxes. I canât justify the cost for the view, because we just hiked Corona Arch that day and those views were free and incredible.
Overall, very disappointing. I cannot recommend and we will not be...
Read moreThis establishment is embarrassment to steakhouses everywhere. This review is not about the incorrect steak, but rather the childish owner who only knows how to speak with attitude. The service deserves absolutely less than 0 stars. The owner/manager, David, with a larger than life ego, has zero respect for customers. The evening started off lovely. V took our orders, gave us recommendations and was quite nice and respectful. A few of us ordered the filet mignon. One was supposed to be a medium rare. Weâve all had our fair share of steaks in life. We know what medium rare is. This steak came out medium well. Not a big deal, or so we thought. We let V know. She was less than friendly this time. She asked what we wanted to do abouted. No apology. We asked for a medium rare steak. Everyone finished their food and the new steak comes out. The steak was just short of being alive. It was cold to the touch. It took 30 minutes to get a less than rare steak. We let V know. She asks what we want. We ask for the steak to be cooked some more. Here is where David appears with a rare steak on a platter. He claims this steak is the one we had. First of all, this steak was perfectly cut on the plate and arranged to show its completely rare center. It was not a filet mignon, but rather much thinner, perhaps another steak on their menu. At this point he accuses of us of not knowing what we ordered. He tells us that rare steaks are supposed to be cool in the center. Thatâs great but we didnât order a rare steak. He gives a great deal of sass and attitude. We wait for the next steak to come out. Brooke comes out and apologizes. The first apology we have received all night. She offers a free dessert. We didnât want a free dessert. We ask for the steak to be comped. For reference this filet cost $45. The desserts cost about $12. We ask for David to come back. We told him this is not the same steak. He tells us to âplease not call him a liar.â Unless he was holding the steak for 30 min and not letting it out of his sight, he cannot even guarantee that. V comes back to say our desserts are comped. We ordered 3 desserts. At this point it is not about the money at all. It is about the principle. We asked for David to come back. We continued to voice our unhappiness with the service. David stated that he would have comped the meal if it had felt appreciated. If the steak had just been replaced with an apology in the first place, none of this would have happened. All we wanted was what we ordered. Instead, we were belittled, insulted, and sassed. No one called him a liar but if the shoe fits⌠If you value your dignity and want to fully enjoy your dinner, donât come here. Take your $500 where it will be appreciated. Weâve truly never experienced a more disrespectful and unhappy person. David needs to learn how to interact with humans before interacting with any...
