Kings Lodge Motel — Hotel in Monterey Park

I don't understand some of the reviews for this place! DON'T STAY HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE! My experience at this hotel was beyond insulting. The older Asian female was so disrespectful as she checked me in, that if I weren't exhausted, I would have called Agoda and found other accomodations. She attempted to put me in two rooms that had deadbolts that didn't work. I asked her about signing the guest registration card,. She showed it to me, and it was filled with misinformation, which included my check-out date. When I asked her to correct the information, she had the audacity to tell me that I was being difficult, and that I could leave. I just wanted her to list my name and other pertinent information correctly.

Also, I had no idea that I was renting a room in a drug den until the female said that I couldn't have guests, and they don't allow drugs on the premises. I was amazed by the insanity. I just wanted to rest. I tried. However, on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at approximately 9:30 pm, someone tried to enter my room. Although I was alone, my reservation was for two people. She refused to give me the extra key card.

After checking-in, I found an interesting news article about the hotel. I checked-in on Friday, August 19, 2022, and checked out on Sunday, August 21, 2022, at 12:00 pm. NEVER,...

Front desk woman is super nice a friendly. She gives you a free soda... (even though on the soda machine it says sodas cost $1.). You get kindky asked if you would like a free soda, after you are all finished checking in.. I love how no matter what day of the week it is (Mon.-Sun.) check out time is always 12:00pm. Also this woman at the front desk sometimes will understand hard times & will help you out.. for example: it was really late at nigh t and my buddy and myself were checking in to the Kings Lodge Motel and we were super tired and we realized that we did not have enough $$ or a debt card or credit card on us to pay for the deposit for the room!!!! And the front desk woman said its late & you guys are tired, don't worry about the deposit this time... We were so happy and greatful. This woman at the front desk might not speak the greatest English, but that doesn't matter. She is a kind and caring lady... My friend and I now come here and stay all the time.. First off the front desk lady is very nice but hard to understand unless you speak Asian. They make you leave a deposit for the tv remote and wi-fi which is weird. The wifi wouldn't even connect on any of our phones (there were three of us), so that ended up being a waste of time.

I asked for a non-smoking room when I called in and they said no problem, only to find out the room wreaked with a variety of different smells including cigarette.

Third, the bathroom looks like it's taken from a broken down apartment in New York City. Carvings on the mirrors and counter tops, little to no toilet paper, shower towels were folded like they were clean, but they were dirty. There were toiletry items left in the bathroom from the precious guest.

Beds- this is the main thing used when staying in a hotel...THAT IS the reason most people get them and especially in this area. TERRIBLE. Dirty top cover, hair on the pillows, all kinds of grime on the sheets which also smelled horrible.

I highly suggest finding another place to stay. I would have rather slept...
