Stayed here for work for 3 total weeks across a couple of months with several coworkers. Here's some of what we experienced. I'm not usually very picky, but I think this is all worth knowing about for people staying here, and hopefully management that might read this.
I had to wait 3 days to change rooms to the south half of the building that actually has Wi-Fi (I'm here to work, and it's essential for that). If you’re in the north half of the building, you have no connection unless you go down the hall or to the lobby. I called the desk and had them reset the router but when that didn’t help, they explained that’s just how it is and the only solution is to move down the hall. I moved down the hall and wi-fi existed, but was still terrible. It rapidly disconnects and reconnects, on 3 of my devices so I know it wasn’t just my laptop or anything like that. That happened continuously every night after 8pm, and sometimes other times as well. One coworker had a cockroach in his room. Anothers' room flooded. Another had their fridge leak all over the floor. The elevator room (which was right next to the elevator entrance on the first floor) emits a strong smell of burnt rubber/smoke and makes loud screeching noises every single time you use the elevator. My shower had a hole in the floor that was loud and crunchy. The soap (body wash and bar soap) never feels like it washes off. The only time I saw evidence of housekeeping during my 9 day stay (they come every 5th day so I should have seen them at least once) was when they left a bag and a pile of folded rags and towels outside my door, which I thought was gross to just leave in the hallway. The only other time was when one walked into my room while I was on a video call, despite my Do Not Disturb sign being hung on the door handle. My door hung crooked on its hinges, making the safety latch hard to secure. My air conditioner blew air that smelled very strongly of urine on my last night and morning, and made loud whirring and clanking noises. The fridge is also very loud. In my first room, my pillows had a very strong sour/moldy smell so I had to ask to have them replaced. Every outlet I used to charge my phone in multiple rooms (two different chargers) make a buzzing noise and make the charger hot.
The staff were nice (especially the ones in the breakfast area in the morning), the hotel was safe, but cleanliness and maintenance don’t seem to be their...
Read moreMy stay at the hotel deserves a 10 due to staff professional courtesy and cleanliness of the facilities. However, the billing process is broken and needs to be addressed. I stayed at the hotel back in April of 2022 for 2 nights on a pre-approved reservation but was charged an additional 2 nights when I checked out. Getting a refund of the overpayment took a week. On my current stay of 3 nights, I noticed that an additional $150 was charged to my credit card. When I asked the desk clerk about it, she stated that for those who frequently stay in hotels know to expect to pay an additional $50 per night for incidentals. (She could not give a clear explanation or examples of what incidentals one might expect.) If Hampton Inn has the business policy of making charges to a customer's credit card without their knowledge or authorization, then I think it would be wise for you to consult your attorney. Making financial claims outside of the reservation contract and electronically requesting the transfer of funds from a customer's credit card account without their knowledge or consent is fraud. Although I enjoyed the stay at the hotel and in the past have recommended it to others, I am now forced to go to your competitors for service. For me, the Hampton Inn of Monticello has branded the name Hampton Inn as a hotel where I cannot...
Read moreI stayed her in the month of September 2023. I gave the hotel 3 stars because they have very nice staff (Shannon) is so sweet and the other staff. If it wasn't for the staff I would have given it 1 star. I'm a business' professional and was in the area on business. The first night there was blood on my bedding, I discovered this shortly after check in. I was offered another room but after driving over an hour from the airport I was tired and ready to retired to bed so I just requested clean bedding. I stripped my bedding myself. The same night I discovered the wifi didn't worked so I couldn't prep again, before my meeting the next morning. I had to stay late at work the next day because I knew the wifi at the hotel wasn't working, the staff had tried to reset it the night before. When I came back to the hotel after work, the wifi still wasn't working so I had to go downstairs in the lobby to get some service, it was still slow but it was something. I have advised my co-workers to avoid this hotel when they are in the area. Some of us have starting staying at the Holiday Inn Express across the street. So far I've been told the wifi works there an for my business group that is...
