Ameca Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Monticello

If I could give this negative 5 stars I would. I went here recently, had a hair on my plate. Was with my family and didn't want to complain so I just didn't eat it. Then I asked for a to-go drink and the cup my waiter brought was dirty and it had a long hair under the lid and down the side of it! He handed it to me and I looked at it and showed it to him and he looked at me like I was dumb and took it away and brought me back the exact same cup. I just got up and went to pay. Then I was horrified to see the waiter walk over to the other wait staff and points at me and they all start laughing! I should have just walked out and not paid a dime but I figured it would be worse to just never spend another penny in this establishment and give them a terrible review. This place used to be good but now the service sucks, the food is too expensive and has become watered down or generic, not at all fresh or even flavorful. They obviously don't care about losing customers or gaining any either so do yourself a favor and go to one of the other Mexican establishments in town. Way better by...

I've never had a bad experience at Ameca, until now. We went to the bar side to watch the Super Bowl. There were 4-6 other people doing the same. So, after the game not being turned on for about 15 minutes into it (watching it on our phones), I spotted the remote and changed the channel. I was immediately confronted by, whom I'm assuming, was the manager who rudely told me I wasn't suppose to do that. I said well, we are here to watch the game and he just repeated himself, very rudely. There was no one in this section working. We saw a waiter maybe twice and had to flag him down for menus and refills. And no, they were not busy AT ALL. With several choices in Mexican restaurants in Monticello, I can honestly say I will not be back to Ameca. We left and went to La Terraza and had a great time, amazing customer service and they...

Food was not all that great, the dish I ordered had steamed vegetables and they was still just as tuff as if they were still raw... But instead just warmed up.. my cheese and salsa that came with my chips as appetizer was way too runny not very good at all for dipping chips, the chips themselves was half stale, neither warm either. My chicken in my chicken dish still had grisiel in it and was very tuff to chew. When we needed a refill we had to flag down our waiter just to get a refill on our drinks, was not happy at all with my visit there, only reason they got 2 stars from me is because they was half way clean... I will not be back there... I will go to La Terraza from now on, just less than a mile down the road much...
