We have been going to this hotel since 2016 and it has just gone down hill!! We had the King bed, studio suite, lake view, hot tub room. First thing we notice was there was no chair for sitting in, as it states it will have. Which means you either sit on the bed to watch TV, which is not very comfortable for someone with back issues, or you take the chair without arms from the desk to sit in. When we asked at the front desk about it they said "you must have the room that had a chair break". We asked if they could bring one from another room and they said "they didn't have any, they had one in the storage shed but the maintenance man needs to put it together". We ended up bringing in a plastic chair from our patio area. Later, as we're trying to watch a movie, we hear a horrible noice through the wall for several minutes and then it got louder!! We called the front desk and Amanda (I believe was her name) said she'd be down, 20 minutes later she shows up and says "that's terrible, I don't know what it would be" and then proceeded to say "what do you want me to do about it?" Really, we're paying good money for this room and we'd like to be able to enjoy it and sleep that night. She said she didn't have any other rooms except the ones upstairs that have wet carpet! She was VERY RUDE and said she'd contact her manager. Well an hour later we don't hear back and the noise is still going on, so we go down to the front desk to see what they were willing to do and again she was very rude and said she notified the manager but hadn't heard back. When we told her that the noise we had in our room was unacceptable, she continued to be extremely rude to us. We told her we wanted to cancel our room for the next night (because we weren't going to stay someplace where we couldn't sleep for 2 nights) and she told us "you can't do that, it's on the paper you signed"! We told her that we wanted to talk to the manager that night. We never heard from the manager and the next morning when we tried to talk with the manager she wasn't any better. Said she didn't know what we expected her to do. We said we wanted a room we could actually sleep in without a noise so loud we could hear our TV over it and kept us awake. She and the other lady behind the desk goes on to say "we're booked all summer and never have a complaint." That is very hard to believe because this noise was extremely loud and one of their own employees witnessed it! They were not willing to cancel & refund our money for the 2nd night and weren't willing to refund any of our money for the first night for the inconvenience. We weren't willing to forfeit our money, for them to just rent the room to someone else and make double the money on it! We were finally able to get them to switch our room for another room, if we would move all our things out by check out time and then come back later. We got a room that didn't have a good view of the bridge but at least it wasn't noisy! We've been to many hotels and have never been treated so bad and have never had a hotel that wasn't willing to make your stay a pleasant one. We will be looking for a new hotel and won't...

We recently stayed at the Super 8 by Wyndham in Saint Ignace, and it was a fantastic experience! From the moment we booked our room, the staff was incredibly nice and extremely helpful over the phone.
We stayed in Room 201, which has a magnificent view of the Mackinac Bridge. The pictures we took don’t do it justice—seeing the bridge all lit up at night is truly breathtaking.
Our room also had a balcony, where we enjoyed a beautiful view of the golf course. To our delight, we even spotted deer right outside our balcony in the evening! The view combined with the serenity made it an unforgettable stay.
The continental breakfast exceeded our expectations. I was especially pleased with the variety of gluten-free options, including gluten-free bread, hard-boiled eggs, and fresh fruit.
The coffee was excellent, with plenty of flavorings available—my favorite being the sugar-free vanilla, along with my vanilla non-dairy creamer. The breakfast spread truly had something for everyone, from cereal, pancakes, and waffles to muffins, donuts, peanut butter, and oatmeal.
While we didn’t use the facilities, it was nice to see that the hotel offers a washer and dryer area, along with snack vending machines. I also appreciated the thoughtful touch of having water dispensers with cups conveniently located in the hallways and by the pool.
Speaking of the pool, it was a hit with the kids! The pool was clean, and the hot tub was perfectly hot with great jets. The pool area is open until 11 PM, which was a relief since we arrived late and the kids were eager to swim.
Another highlight was the friendly cleaning lady we encountered in the hallway, who was cheerfully singing “Jesus Loves Me” in the morning. It added a warm, welcoming vibe to our stay.
Finally, one of the coolest experiences was watching the big freighters pass under the bridge from our hotel room. We downloaded the Marine Traffic app for $5, which showed us real-time details about the ships, including their photos, origins, and destinations—such a fun and educational addition to our trip!
Overall, our stay at the Super 8 by Wyndham Saint Ignace was wonderful, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. We can’t wait to come back!

The private balcony was not at all private being directly adjacent to the balcony of the room next to mine with no privacy barrier. The non-smoking room smelled like a bingo hall filled with professional chain smokers. Being August, the room was stifling-hot and the air conditioner only worked on fan mode which purged wet, mildew scented air. Being in the disgusting room for less than 5 minutes was enough to convince me to return to the lobby and get my money back, as the king studio was nowhere near worth the $300 I paid. Reaching the lobby, I was informed that there would be no refund as I had "stepped foot into the room". Nothing was touched, nor unpacked, but I was still forced to pay $300. Not wanting to cause a scene, I accepted the offer to change rooms. Thinking I would get a comparable room for the $300 I had paid, one could imagine my surprise when I was given a room on the first floor that had a working air conditioner, but smelled a bit worse, having urine mixed in with the stale smoke. Being tired I simply relented, and went to sleep thinking about breakfast. Waking up to the sound of children running back and forth across the room above me, describing my mood as foul would be a gross understatement. I didn't even bother with breakfast due to the fact that nothing Being offered looked appealing. Being on vacation with my son I decided to go "all out" and rent a room for just over $300. Granted, I rented said room at Super 8 but, being on the main drag in St. Ignace I figured for that amount of money even Super 8 would provide a decent experience. No. For 300 ever-loving, dollars I stayed in a 100 dollar room that wasn't worth 50. And to be denied a refund after immediately rejecting the far-from-acceptable room is absolutely ridiculous. As a Google reviewer, in good standing, I intend to enlighten the masses of my experience in an attempt to keep as many people as I can from making the same mistake. I am absolutely livid about how much money I spent, and the terrible...
