I normally don't like to give negative reviews, but this hotel has gotten worse the last few times I've stayed here, so maybe this can help. Firstly, I should have known it wasn't going to be a good stay the minute I opened the door to room 209. The last occupant had turned the heat to the highest setting and it was like an oven in the room! I should have gone and asked for a different room immediately, but I didn't as it was already 11:30pm and I was exhausted. Instead I wedged the door to the hallway open, turned the heat off and opened the window all the way thinking this would do the trick, it being in the low 40's outside. Nope, still like an oven in 15 minutes so I turned the air conditioner on, which only worked for 5 minutes and then shut off and refused to work again no matter what buttons I pushed. During all the time I waited for the room to cool off I thought I'd just watch a bit of TV to let the room cool off and to relax after a long day of driving, nope the TV had 'no signal' on the screen and no matter what I tried it never worked. After sweltering in my room for some time, I packed all my gear back up and trudged down to get a different room, which the nice lady at the desk very helpfully gave me. As I walked from the desk to room 106, I thought to myself 'now watch this room be freezing'. I opened the door and was hit by a blast of cool air, the temp in the room was 60 if the setting on the machine can be believed. I turned the machine to off, left my clothes on and just jumped into bed, at least I could huddle under all the blankets and stay warm. In the morning I didn't want to press my luck so I just packed up and left without showering. I did take two minutes to walk down and check on something else I had noticed on an earlier stay. I had noticed that at the far end of the hotel one of the exit doors had a broken lock and was banging in the wind all night and I wanted to see if it had been taken care of, being a safety issue. Well things had changed, but only for the worse. Now both exit doors at that end of the hotel had broken locks, but the problem of them 'banging' in the wind all night had been ingeniously fixed by taping the lock mechanisms over, instead of having them fixed! As I'm sitting at my computer writing this up, I think I might look at what other hotels are open all year in...
Read moreI rented two rooms and both rooms were on the first floor, to the right of the front desk. The rooms both smelled of horrible must and mold. The air conditioner worked, but barely. The bed is NOT comfortable at all, but the pillows were not horrible. There is a fridge and microwave. The bathroom is TINY and the counters are plastic. The breakfast is located in a SMALL room to the left of the check in desk. I walked down there at 9am (which is a busy time) and I could not walk in. I maneuvered through the people to see what they had. The eggs were gone and there was no water at all. There was a basket of OLD fruit. The banana was ready for banana bread! There was NO syrup for the waffles and the line was long. There was no gravy for the rock hard biscuits. The pool is just to get wet really. The hot tub and pool are connected so it makes for a weird set up. It is fine, but people were jumping over the dividing wall to get into the pool. They do allow outsiders to come in for a small fee. I do not agree with that when they are full as they were last weekend, but whatever. The ventilation is HORRIBLE in the pool room so be prepared to not be able to breathe. If the hotel could fix the musty smell (rooms are not near the pool that we were in) and update them a tiny bit, I may stay again. The food situation needs to be changed. Perhaps they could put the food in the open area outside of the food room and then keep seating in the room only, it...
Read moreI made an arrangement with the manager and when the pantry staff in town were giving me a hard time about assistance..I had to move all my things out of a room the manager as asked to put me in for a longer stay..well an hour and a half after the housekeeper head who doesn't double check all rooms empty are hair free and vacuumed..well I got gifted $400 to cover my room and I won't abuse myself moving my things back inside to pay a place for a room that I think booked me in a half cleaned room and knew I was having an issue after being robbed of $325 at anther location. If you can believe that I got rejected at my job interview for pointing out to the owner I got booked in a room the cleaning lady didn't take pride in or his establishment and never bothered to complain for a free night. So you can try to make arrangements for safety but staff here is not all on the same page and it hurts new people in the area. As I had to move out of my room I had wasted all day asking for help and every single guest had to hear me argue and explain my problem to he pantry people and that's not cool but then..my belongings were placed outside and I just wasn't gonna give money to an owner who didn't appreciate my respect for his hard earned equity..it's embarrassing when the people who treat others bad are so much older than their victims..both adults who acted snotty..were over two...
