Stayed here recently and was not impressed. The main issue is with the cleanliness and housekeeping. I hate to leave a negative review because the front desk worker did try to accommodate and make up for things. The first room we found a disgusting and obvious stain on the bed spread which could only be described as likely being "bodily fluid". The front desk worker was understanding and polite and did everything he could to get us moved and to work the issue out with us and I am grateful to him for that. However. In our other room we found gross hair inside the ice bin (which was oddly and unhygenically stored in the bathroom, but they had no problem replacing the bin for us) and dirty dishes in the cabinets of the mini-kitchen. We were also concerned with the fact that barely any protective measures seem to be in place for COVID (such as wearing gloves/masks, using hand sanitizer, deep cleaning of rooms, etc). The other issue we had is that this place is currently undergoing some construction and renovation. We had used a 3rd party online booking service and were not notified of this fact- (again, not fully the fault of the hotel itself but was nonetheless an annoying and inconvenient issue to deal with). I was awaken early on Saturday morning to loud pounding on the wall (but I'm not totally sure if this was related to construction or maintenance) either way it was incredibly annoying and forced me out of bed well before my intended wake up time. This place also seemed to have its share of questionable characters around, w having found an odd substance inside of the elevator one night, I can not say for certain what it was as I didn't have a lab test, but if I had to guess I would say it was meth or some other similar illicit crystaline substance. Regardless, the front desk staff was kind, polite, and accommodating. The breakfast was very good, and I believe that the problems and issues we encountered could be corrected w better management of the housekeeping and cleaning aspects of this property. And I believe that once construction and renovation is completed, it will look very nice. If you intend to stay here soon, be sure to bring lysol wipes/sanitizing products to clean your room, ensure to properly store valuables and keep your vehicle and room locked, DO NOT USE THE WIFI (3 people in my party used the WI-FI and experienced numerous issues with the wifi service as well as their devices, which makes me question the security of it), ask about the status of construction/renovation, and be sure to inspect and look through your entire room prior to fully getting...
Read moreOriginally I booked a king room that was handicapped accessible. I asked if the hot tub/spa was in working order and was told they were working on it the next day, which was a Monday, but it should be fine for my reservation which was that Thursday of the same week. I was curious so I looked online and saw that there was a king suite with a whirlpool. I called and after being assured that there was a walk-in shower, changed my reservation and paid roughly $30 more for that room because I didn't want to take the chance that the hotel spa wasn't working. Upon check-in, I asked the desk clerk if the hotel hot tub was working and was assured it was. We proceeded to our room and found that there was no walk-in shower, meaning it was unusable for me (I could have showered with my walker if it had been). The whirlpool itself was difficult to use because it was extremely slippery when getting in and only had handles on one side making it even more difficult to get out of. The next morning we headed down to the hotel spa only to find that it was out of order because of chemical cleaning. I live in the same town and the only reason I visit the hotel is because of the hot tub. The whirlpool was so difficult to get out of it undid any benefit of a soak and we were very disappointed that we were told the spa worked when it didn't. By the time we got our swimsuits on, went downstairs to the pool area, came back up to shower and such... breakfast was over so we just came home. Honestly, I'm not sure if we'll stay again. On top of that, I was under the impression that if you stayed 2 nights, on 2 different occasions, you received a 3rd night free but now your website doesn't show that anywhere. The whole experience was a...
Read moreI offer the following observations in the hope that future guests do not experience the same situations.
My wife tried to take a hot shower around 9:45 pm Friday night (8/15). It started warm for a few minutes, then got progressively colder until there was only cold water in the shower. It was VERY challenging and frustrating trying to finish her shower and rinse her hair in only cold water. There was also no warm water in the sink during this time - she asked me to check, in case that was an option for rinsing her hair. I called the front desk, and they said no one else reported the problem. She said she would submit a maintenance ticket. Since there was no further problem Saturday or Sunday, we expect you just ran out of hot water Friday night - which although likely was an anomaly for your hotel, was still very frustrating for my wife. We were also VERY disappointed with the lack of wifi availability Friday night (8/15). We had computer/internet work to do for a Saturday morning funeral, and it was not possible to access wifi on our laptop, Chromebook, or iPhones. We called the front desk, and others were also highlighting this problem. The front desk called the IT helpdesk, and the problem wasn't fixed until morning. We were surprised how little sound insulation the walls/doors had, possibly because our room (231) had a door to the room next to us. We could hear the neighbor's (normal voice) conversation next door, including the voice of the person they were talking to on the phone. We paid over $250 per night for two nights - and expect better quality of service...
