*Update October 2022: stayed at Country Cabins Inn #217 again and the noisy plastic mattress cover has gone buh-bye and the TV replaced with an easier-to-operate model. Five stars! *

In a rural area of Southwest Wyoming that doesn't have much in the way of lodging to begin with, Country Cabins Inn is the best you'll find. We stayed there for the first time the other night, courtesy of our employer, and really enjoyed it. Our unit (#217) had 2 queen beds, microwave and mini-fridge (with an actual freezer), ironing board, flat screen TV, pretty good Wi-Fi, and -- get this -- a deep, jetted tub! Mama took a bubble bath that night LOL The décor was cute and rustic and I guess every cabin has a different theme. Ours was bears.

Check-in takes place inside the Chinese restaurant on-site, and the manager does a little bit of everything on the property, so be ready to call the number on the message board. If Chinese isn't your thing, there's also a Pizza Hut, Subway, the local bowling alley (which has a bar and grill on-site), and a local hamburger joint within walking distance. Fiesta Guadalajara, a really good Mexican restaurant, is a short drive away, as is Crazy Ate, a traditional American diner. A Maverik gas station and convenience store is located next door.

Inconveniences encountered were minor, such as instructions on how to operate the TV that weren't quite right, but a quick call to the manager got it sorted out. Also, there was a mattress cover on the bed that made a lot of noise when you moved around on it. Not sure how the rates compare with other lodging in the area (room was paid for by our employer), but again, there aren't many choices nearby, so if you want to stay someplace decent in the Bridger Valley area, choose...

I would have given five stars based on the cabin alone; it was very clean, quiet, cozy, surprisingly roomy and updated (did not expect to see a jacuzzi tub in a log cabin!)

What made Country Cabins go above and beyond though is that Alma (the owner) came out in the middle of the night and picked us up while we were stranded on the side of the highway with a dead vehicle. Barreling down a dark highway at 80MPH and having your electric components fail is scary enough; pulling over on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere with no clue what to do felt helpless. We luckily had cell service and started looking for a close place to stay. The two other options outside of Country Cabins didn't look enticing, so we called the Inn and explained what was going on. Without hesitation, Alma hit the road and saved us, also offering help with the car if our roadside assistance flaked. I've never had this happen in a city with lots of lodging options, let alone one with few.

Alma represents the people we want to surround ourselves with and emulate to truly feel like we're part of a community - people who instinctively go above and beyond when they see those in need. While the rooms may have slightly higher rates than the other places in town, the value outweighs the cost. You won't be dissatisfied with either the room or the comfort in knowing you're sleeping under the roof of people who care about others and take pride in their accommodations.

For those coming in late, it's within walking distance of a 24-hour Maverik so you can get snacks to tie you over until the morning (and in our situation,...

Very pleasantly surprised by this place. I drive cross-country a couple times per year visiting family, and just now found this place. Very clean rooms. Each room is a private cabin - either 2 Queens or 1 King bed. Jetted tub, shower. The room has a Roku TV which is nice - just sign in to watch Netflix, Vudu, etc. and it'll sign you out when you checkout. Mini-fridge, microwave, table & chairs, plus a little porch outside with 2 chairs to sit and enjoy the outside. Coin laundromat on-site is convenient - especially during winter months. Awesome staff! Owner had a family event the night I was to check in, so he just left my cabin unlocked with the key inside. Took care of payment when I checked out. Very understanding, trusting, and thoughtful staff. As for the location, it's only about 8min south of I-80, so very convenient. In a very small town with friendly people. There's a market nearby, a Pizza Hut, Subway, American restaurant, and a GREAT Chinese restaurant right next door too!

Will be going back here every time I drive...

I would like to thank you the family who is hosting this hotel. They are amazing and very friendly. I am a truck driver and my truck was broken, so I must to find the hotel for one night. I booked it in Exepedia and next I was trying to find Lift or Uber, but it was impossible, because the town is small. So, I called the front desk in the hotel and the owner by himself picked me up in truck stop. More than that he didn’t take any money for the ride. When we was driving he told me about his family and how is going the family business. He is so proud of his children and wife. He is very nice person. The place is beautiful and very unique. This place has a soul! The house is completely wooden. Very nice and comfortable bad. If I will be able to travel in this area I will totally choose this place again.

These cabins are awesome! Very well built, clean, maintained, and roomy. It was certainly larger than I expected. The beds were comfortable, the small fridge was larger than those at the big hotel chains, so had plenty of space for us. We came in February, so it appeared no other people were staying. Check in and out was a breeze and all remote. The mini split heated the cabin well also. The shower was spacious and plenty of hot water and good water pressure. The owner was also flexible and worked with us on a need we had. We were in town for two days of sporting events with my kids. These Cabins saved us a long drive or staying at other nearby hotels which we were unsure about. I have lots of kids and considered getting 2 cabins, but instead put a couple kids on the floor in air mattresses.
