Summary: Hotel is awesome, highly recommend! This hotel is BRAND NEW. Most reviews are for the old hotel or the hotel next door. They are not doing breakfast yet, as no hotels are yet, so don't knock them for that. Not their fault. Im sure breakfasts at hotels will start again soon.
First, I will say that there are far too many reviews that are aimed at the SELECT INN and not Wingate. Also, 90% of the reviews are for the the old hotel, not this new one. The owner should fix that..
The truck parking issue for instance...I am a truck driver. There is a sign in the lot across from Wingate that says, "truck parking for Select Inn guests only, otherwise you must pay $30 to park." This is NOT wingate's lot, it's the lot for Select Inn. (Wingate owner should be responding to those..) But either way, don't park in a lot that has clear rules and then get mad that those rules are enforced..
Now onto the hotel! This place has been COMPLETELY remodeled. It looks like they tore down the old one and put up a new one actually. I am so glad I booked here on sight, because I wouldn't have booked online based on the reviews.
This place took everything I HATE about hotels and fixed it! It's a super modernized hotel with cool features and even cool lighting.
No more stupid shower curtain that doesn't stop floors from being soaked. You get a curved, sliding glass door with a huge shower!
Led white lights that are not in the ceiling, shining in your face. They are built into the furniture and design of the room. They make the room bright, but not unnatural. No lack of lighting here.
A 50 to 55 inch samsung smart TV with showtime and cable. Beautiful and clear picture.
The most comfortable bed Ive ever slept on IN MY LIFE! I slept on clouds between the Euro top bed and crazy comfortable pillows with a REAL comforter.
The AC worked beautifully and kept the temperature where I wanted it.
Even the smell of the room was amazing. It didn't smell like chemicals. It smelled like some kind of potpourri or something. An earthy, but refreshing smell. Made me feel like I was staying in a home.
The staff was excellent! The cleaning gal did knock on our door with the DND sign on it, but I can look past that with everything else being so great. The gal that checked me in was so friendly and fun. Plus a HUGE bonus... there was a couple parked outside of our room in the parking lot blaring music. We called the front desk and they said they'd take care of it. The music stopped like 3 minutes later! I can barely ever get the front desk to help with anything at most hotels, much less complaints about noise. Not this place. She was ON IT.
Ok did I mention the lights? I wont ruin the fun, but enjoy them! I am now doing my hallways just like it. Don't forget to check out the party lights in the bathroom. So fun! LOVED it. What a fun touch to add to a hotel.
They even thought about making the hotel as quiet as possible by giving each room door their own entrance that is not sitting right on the hallway. You dont hear nearly as much foot traffic thanks to that.
The only complaint I have, is that the doors still shut rather loudly. They soft close for half of the way, so that does help quite a bit, but they need padding on the frame or something. It would help though, if the cleaning staff took more care to close the doors tactfully. When they were cleaning the rooms around me, that's when I really noticed the noise of the doors. If the AC was running, I didn't hear the doors as much over the AC which was nice.
This hotel has been saved to my favorites and I will be staying everytime Im in town. I love the style, and the thoughtfulness behind all the design and additions....
Read moreOn Saturday July 27, 2019 I checked into this “establishment” in Murfreesboro with a friend of mine. I arrived approximately 9:45pm and proceeded to check in. The woman at the counter (a middle aged dirty blonde who’s name I didn’t catch but couldn’t pull herself away from her phone conversation long enough to introduce herself) took my ID and credit card from me that i already had out waiting for her, me being aware that’s the typical routine. Whoever she was talking to must have worked there because she inquired about the AC and the aroma of room 317 (my determined destination) and I assume was convinced was both were good and told a black gentleman (Jeremy?) to make my keys and have my sign the receipt so she could go outside and continue to gossip with her telephone mistress. As I entered the hallway to the elevator I was knocked over by the overwhelming aroma of marijuana. Trust me as a former pothead a year into my recovery I know the smell. As I made it to the room I entered a room that not only reeked of bad BO but looked as tho had literally just been thrown together. None of the lights were plugged into outlets nor was the TV. Also the coaxial cable wasn’t even attached. As i started to assemble my room i noticed the remote didn’t work. I sent my friend down to swap it out as I tried to program the TV myself. Around 11:00pm After messing with that for almost an hour with no luck ( coaxial wouldn’t even connect to TV and couldn’t get the WiFi to stay connected long enough to do much more) and sending my friend down 2 more times to get some assistance with no avail I finally informed the hotel that with all the issues, condition of not only my room but the hotel as a whole and the lack of cooperation from the staff on duty I wanted to check out and receive a refund. They informed me it wouldn’t be a problem. Just gather my things and return the keys to the window on the outside of the hotel which I did and as I handed the keys to the lady I asked what else I needed to do and she said everything was good. She would leave a note for the morning shift ( Tasha) to handle it. Got into my car and took off. The next day I called the hotel to inquire about the refund and spoke to Tasha who informed me that I had never checked out and would not get a refund. After explaining to her several times that I had indeed checked out, gave my keys to the front desk and was even told that she would be the one working the next morning shift and be dealing with the refunding of my money she insisted that I had not checked out and continued to stay in the room. After protesting this Tasha began to get an attitude and when I realized they were giving me the shaft I retreated and here I am. Trust me I nor anyone I even care an ounce about will NEVER take a step into this outhouse/crackhouse called Vista Inn so...

Housekeeping threw an entire bag of mine away, excusing it as a mistake and provided no explanation or evidence. For reference, I stayed at Wingate by Wyndham Murfreesboro from Friday, June 14th-Monday, June 17th 2024.
When I asked about where it went, the housekeeper responsible for the error was dismissive and actually sarcastically asked me if I came to help her with laundry (?). I was trying to ask what happened, as she was the last one I saw in my room. After being dismissive for another few minutes, she got on the phone with a man and defensively began yelling rude, loud, screaming profanities in Spanish -- loud enough for neighbors to open up their doors to hear her commotion -- when we never accused her. One of the guests staying with me understood the Spanish and translated that she was calling me a liar, mocking me, and calling me stupid for a bag disappearance that was never my fault. This was my first time even speaking with her.
I understand that even if throwing the bag out was a mistake (I do not like to assume behavior like stealing), treating and insulting guests in this manner is in massively poor taste. As a guest, I never prompt or respond to this kind of behavior at all. Despite checking in on the issue every day with the hotel staff, no one got back to me with any updates although they were clearly all informed about the situation. Concierge said the bag was "conveniently left outside of security camera sight" at the time of the disappearance. I 100% left the bag in my room with my suitcase and backpack before it was taken, and there was 100% no reason to confuse it as trash. No amends were offered.
The unhelpfulness of the hotel staff in rectifying this situation in any way is what stuck out to me. I am not an aggressive or angry customer, but this behavior was so unpleasant and uncomfortable with no reparations made that I decided to leave a review. I do not recommend staying here.
I felt so unsafe leaving any valuables in my hotel room (this happened on Day 2 of 4 of my stay) that I had to take them with me traveling outside of the hotel every day, which was not fun as we were all Bonnaroo festival staff. We all took photos of our bags before leaving the room every day and locked the room every night. It is absurd that my company is offering to reimburse me for materials lost, but not the hotel after this unacceptable experience.
Besides the 2 housekeepers from Day 1 that were great and gave us no issues, all other staff members I encountered made the experience a full 1/10 for poor communication, disgusting guest treatment, and total...
