It pains me to write this negative review about the Waffle House on Church Street next to McDonald's since it has been a tradition on Christmas Day for many years, but not anymore. At the time we went, it was not unreasonably busy and one table was open but not cleared yet. The older woman who was supposed to be clearing and wiping down tables apparently couldn't lift stacks of plates and after she wiped the table it was still dirty. Then after ordering and getting our food, the server was difficult to flag down for coffee refills, ketchup, and replacement waffle for the undercooked one we received. While we had noticed in recent years that the service had declined, The overall service was severely lacking despite the ratio of employees to customers. Going forward, we will be celebrating elsewhere and will not return to...
Read moreI frequently visit this location. Until this morning it was great. Staff is always friendly and courteous. Went in last night about midnight staff was great as always good was awesome like always I spent $35 on food with the tip for my wife and I. I asked inside the store if I could stay parked there over night, told them I was coming back in for breakfast. They said no problem. I was all the way in the back in no one's way. Woke up about 6::30 am we went in to order food and my wife went into the rest room and the cook in there went on a rant and was VERY RUDE threatening to call the police because we stayed the night there in the parking lot. There is a way you talk to people and a way you don't talk to people. Screw the breakfast. Signed loyal customer never...
Read moreMy first time at this location. As with all the others the food was great and the service was excellent. As I was eating my fiesta omelet I couldn't help but to be impressed with how Waffle House does their business. Kind of an old school dinner vibe with the kitchen and staff in plain view. Food orders being called back-and-forth in a secret code. Scattered, smothered, covered, chunked, diced, plate, on the side, and more. Cooks looking at plates with strategically placed bits of food, ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise packets to let them know what they're cooking. No tickets no order window no computer reminding them. Just good training and consistency. It's really...
