I think this is only the second or third Google review I’ve written, but I feel compelled to warn other travelers. DO NOT STAY HERE. I’m baffled by the good reviews, as this is by far the worst smelling, dirtiest hotel room I’ve ever had the displeasure of setting foot inside. The only positive thing I can say is that Debbie at the front desk was extremely kind and accommodating, but she has nothing to work with here. Any money spent on this place in the recent past was spent in the lobby, which has new furniture, a stone fireplace, and a giant TV. The rooms, on the other hand, are disgusting. We had two and neither would have been acceptable even if we’d only paid half as much as we did. The musty smell was overpowering and kept me awake. One room also smelled of stale vomit. The carpets look like they predate the Carter administration and they clearly haven’t seen a vacuum, much less a carpet cleaner, in almost that long. We kept finding hairs in the sleeping areas and bathrooms that didn’t belong to any of us. The faucets were loose and one of the shower curtains was partially pulled out of the wall so that you couldn’t close the curtain. The toilets barely flushed. The AC was spotty, leaving the rooms very humid. I chuckled ruefully when I read the review here (too bad I didn’t read it before we booked) that says sleeping in your car would be better, because that’s exactly what my husband ended up doing. That’s how bad it was. He’s currently in the process of trying to obtain a refund. Rather than having paid to stay there, I feel like we should be compensated for having endured...
Read moreChecke in was the usual for most motels. Friendly staff at the front desk. Overall common areas were extremely warm (it was 84 when we checked in). Room was very warm and musty. Kicked in AC and was able to get the room cooled, but the musty smell was not going away. First course of business, kill the spider crawling by the bath tub, mission accomplished! Next problem to overcome was plugging in the fridge which I found out also plugged in the microwave. Oh yeah, had to plug those into the lamp due to not enough outlets close to the fridge and microwave cabinet. Turned on the TV to get a message to contact the front desk for batteries. Thought I would be nice and just take the batteries down and exchange them only to find mold inside the remote. Took the remote down to exchange it which the front desk did after asking was their a problem. We booked 3 rooms for this trip and when I went to one of the other rooms found mold inside their TV remote as well. We have stayed here before years ago, and it has certainly gone down hill! Over all, could not recommend this place. Guess I know why they offer a free bag of chips with a five...
Read moreMy last TWO experiences were disgusting and I will not spend a night or attend a party there anytime soon. I wish I took pictures but I was tired and ended up having a family emergency. Not worth the risk with the management but this hotel was always a favorite, great spot, great pool, great breakfast but the pool and hot tub was green, dirty, made our skin itch. An open case of beer was left in the room my Teenagers stayed in. They later told me that the bedding was grimey so they didn't even sleep in the beds SMH. I told the woman at the desk just so she could let someone know to check on the rooms a little better and all she told me was that I wouldn't get a refund(I never asked for a refund). On a business trip later in the year I spoke with the same woman again on the phone and in person- two different days. The woman was just unapologetically rude. I ended up staying at the Merrill-15 minutes away- but my co-workers complained about their stays that night. I'd wait for them to get it together to book with them...
