I honestly don’t even know how this place has 1 star, let alone 3. DO NOT STAY HERE! I repeat, DO NOT STAY HERE! Me & 2 of my friends booked this place in hopes that we would get a decent hotel on the beachfront. What we encountered was anything but. First let me start with the lobby/front desk. When we pulled up the the entrance of the hotel, there seemed to be drunk people congregating everywhere. It was a week of a holiday so we didn’t think too much of it. When we walked in there were 3 people working the front desk & only us in line, yet we had to wait a good 5-10 minutes for one of them to acknowledge us. When we got upstairs to the room we were immediately HORRIFIED by the conditions. Firstly, the room looked like it was decorated in the 70’s & never changed since then. The old style could be looked past, but not the rest. The carpet was bubbled up/raised in some areas like it had been soaked in standing water numerous times & never cleaned properly. The door to the room was so thin that it looked like a closet door. The refrigerator had some sort of sticky residue all over the inside/outside & the handle was ripped in half. The bathroom mirror was dirty & broken. The bathtub was stained all along the bottom. Our balcony door wouldn’t close all the way, so there was about a half inch gap that bugs, wind, noises, etc. could enter. There was also a gap so big under the conjoining door that I could fit half of my hand under it. Despite all of these atrocities, we decided to try to give the hotel the benefit of the doubt & go visit the pool, bar & restaurant. When walking down the flight of stairs, which also looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since the 70’s, we encounter what looked to be a giant dripping blood stain on the wall. Almost as if someone was shot there & they just never cleaned it!! The pool was extremely small for such a large hotel, so there was standing room only. The restaurant was closed for dine in (doing carry outs only) & the bar had people sitting around it peddling certain things like hair braiding & palm reading. The whole vibe of this place screamed “spring break hotel that never gets cleaned”. After deciding that we absolutely could not stay at this hotel, we asked for a refund & were given our money back (minus $50). We had to scramble last minute to find another hotel, all because the pictures & website for Ocean Annie’s was all EXTREMELY misleading. If you don’t want to be murdered, sleep/shower/eat in a dirty hotel room or overall just want a clean, decent hotel - do not book here!!!! Run far away...

this was the worst resort experience i have ever been thru. first we didn’t get the room that was in the picture of our reservation. i paid for a balcony and was not given one. The floors looked and felt like they were not swept or mopped in months. we were not able to move rooms for a whole day and they told us we would get into the new room from 12-2 the next day and we didn’t get into the new room till 4:30 which postponed our plans for that day once we got to our new room we had a mini fridge instead of a full fridge and the tv looked like it was from the 80’s. The breakfast buffet was false advertising with no prices making it look free but instead it was $16.50 the breakfast was not even worth that price at all. Also was not informed till i left that i needed to pay for the breakfast. No ice in the entire building. The staff is so rude and did not make me feel welcomed here. I had 3 key cards to my room and they all stopped working i had to wait 30mins to get back into my room. The girl in front of me didn’t get ID for needing a new key card but i had to show ID to get a new key card this place is very discriminatory towards groups of people. the phone extensions do not work so don’t even try to place a carry out cause they don’t even allow carry out at any of their restaurants. they play the same music every night. The elevator door fell off and hit some girl in the shoulder and they had to fix it. will not be using the elevators again. but can’t even use the stairs to get to the lobby cause at the bottom of the stairs there are no doors to exit. Was told to go eat more bacon when i said the breakfast buffet was too much for the quality of food. will not be returning to this hotel. very very untrustworthy would not recommended staying here. only thing that saved them was the beach. don’t stay here unless you want your vacation to have as much stress as your...

If I could give a 0 star review I would do so without question.

After a delayed flight we arrived to check in close to midnight, were put in a room that was absolutely disgusting. The mold on the ceiling was so bad you couldn’t tell if It was painted black or white. Mold also covered the curtains, closet doors, lamp shades, and more. The carpet was so dirty and worn It resembled hard dirt floors. 3 of 4 lights in the room didn’t work. And the smell was horrible. Immediately we went to request a new room, after hotel staff took 40 minutes to move our room, the 2nd room was marginally better. Still covered in mold, smelled and flys all over. We again went to ask to be moved and were told It was our fault for arriving late and the only rooms left are the worst ones in the building because other guests who were put in these rooms came and complained and were moved to better rooms. It’s my assumption there are no better rooms, only desperate guests who don’t want to deal with the horrible staff or headache of changing locations. In addition to the dirty, unkept rooms, the hallway lights were burned out or so dim you couldn’t see, the elevators were trash, the staircase smelled like week old rotten meat, no ice machines worked in the entire building, the door man constantly yelled at folks for parking at the loading zone while unloading and loading their cars, .. I could go on but why? Do you need to know more?

Do not stay here. No living thing should risk their health by spending any amount of time or money with this business. This resort and the management of the resort offered the worst vacation experience I’ve ever had. Again, do not stay here.

Specific rooms we were put in were 202 and 415. The hotel staff wouldn’t allow us back in to 202 when we asked to...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Hidden Gem with Outstanding Service and Beachfront Vibes! Each year we travel to North Myrtle Beach for a conference and typically stay at one of the more upscale, well-known resorts in the area. But due to a last-minute booking issue, we had to look for another option—and that’s how we discovered Sands Ocean Club Resort. At first glance, it’s not as modern or flashy as the places we’re used to. But once we arrived, we quickly realized this place has something many big-name hotels don’t: exceptional customer service. The staff made us feel genuinely welcomed and taken care of—better than we’ve experienced at some of the more expensive spots. And then there’s Ocean Annie’s Beach Bar—hands down, one of the best features of this resort. It’s right on the beach, with live music, a fun crowd, and unbeatable ocean views. It gave the entire stay that lively, vacation feel we didn’t know we needed. Beyond that, the amenities were a pleasant surprise: • Indoor and outdoor pools, a lazy river, hot tub, and kiddie pool • Direct beach access with lounge chairs and umbrellas • Full-service spa, fitness center, and arcade/game room • On-site restaurants, a gift shop, and even tennis and basketball courts • Private oceanview balconies, free parking, and Wi-Fi included It might not have the luxury polish of other places, but it has everything you actually want in a beach getaway—with more heart and personality. We came here out of necessity, but left genuinely impressed. Ocean Annie’s / Sands Ocean Club Resort turned out to be a laid-back, welcoming, and amenity-packed alternative that we’d be happy to stay at again

DON'T BOTHER WITH THIS PLACE. IT'S NOT WORTH THE MONEY! family and I have been coming here for over 20 years with our time share, and it gets worse and worse every single year. The rooms are never cleaned properly, the mirror has something growing behind it, they removed one of the pull out couches, went from 4 balcony chairs to two, and we weren't able to get into our room until 6pm when it was supposed to be ready around 4pm. The rules in the pool are ridiculous. No splashing, no jumping, no balls, no "rough housing," and one of the employees consistently harassed my family in the pool and would not say anything to the other people doing the same thing. If you want a place where you're not gonna get your money's worth, this is the one for you.

My room has mold on the ceiling. Also staff have entered my room while I was sleeping once and getting dressed the second time without knocking or notice. My stay was for an entire week with no housekeeping at all. I had to call the front desk for garbage bags as well as towels. If you are not traveling with children this may not be the place for you. The children had both pools as well as the hot tub full from morning until close. Also children running around all hours of the night with no supervision. The bar is nice if you don't want to leave the premises but the bartender has an attitude and is very rude. Overall I hate to say I will be looking for different accommodations for my next vacation to Myrtle Beach.
