I'm visiting from Minnesota to South Carolina for my first experience to the south with my girlfriend, who has been a repeat visitor for many, many years. The first couple days I found southern hospitality I've heard so much about but the 3rd day it was ruined when I came to Harry the Hats. When we walked in, we weren't greeted in any way. We weren't sure if we could just take a seat or to wait there. The waitress just looked at us oddly as we asked her if we could sit anywhere. I assumed that at this point I was just out of town and wasn't aware of how this bar operated. The bar had only a couple other people in it so my party of 5 more than doubled its occupants. The waitress gave each of us a menu and offered us drinks. Things seemed to be fine until after she took our order. Our drink (mostly ice) were empty right away and we didn't see her for another 15 minutes or so where she dropped off a plate of silverware and walked back to the bar where she continued to socialized with the couple of folks that were there. We weren't aware that soda costs refills and that really isn't a problem, but it would have been nice to have been informed. So we stay there for 40 minutes waiting for food and a refill. Two burgers, fries and three chicken strip baskets shouldn't take 40 minutes to cook. We received our food and one of our orders was wrong. Oblivious to our discomfort, the waitress went off to fix the order. We then preceded to eat our meals quietly sipping down the melted ice from our cups. At the end of our meal one of us brought up our trouble to one of the other waitresses at the bar because ours was nowhere in sight. Our waitress quickly arrived to address the situation, in an aggressive and rude manner. We explained our issues to her and she offered us a refill as we were trying to pay so we can leave the uncomfortable place. She grabbed our plates form us and returned with a bill. We paid her and she returned to the bar where she then glared at us and talked smack about us just loud enough for us to hear to the other waitress and the one or two people at the bar, which our party found to be extremely immature. Its was a very upsetting experience and her disrespect towards us has really put a downer on our day.

On the other hand, the burger was quite good... your choice on the trade-offs. So, if you can walk right into the kitchen and directly order from the cook. You might have have a pleasant...

Underwhelming. Our server was the only one working besides the bar tender, bless her heart. We felt bad for her. She did her best, but it wasn't enough to fix the food. Food was typical, "eat when you're drunk and don't know any better" bar food. Burgers were dry and burnt, Buffalo chicken dip didn't have any noticeable chicken and was lacking the Buffalo part (no hot sauce at all) and tasted like melted cream cheese. There was a very very generous later of melted mozzarella on top, but mainly served to hide the dip. The pita chips were the best thing, fresh, crispy. French fries were average. Ketchup tasted like beer. The 32 oz bucket of Caribbean Rum punch was weak, watered down despite asking for light ice. It was supposed to have 8 shots of alcohol, but tasted like fruit juice, i.e. Hi-C. Seriously. I'm not a drinker and even i thought it was like drinking a Capri sun. Plates were styrofoam, eating utensils were plastic. Not unexpected, but fitting nonetheless. Long and short - if you're out drinking and stick to bottles you'll be fine but don't expect much from the food. Would not recommend. Advice to management: fix your restaurant. Pay your...

Do not go here just to check it out! Do not go here to see if it would be a nice spot to frequent! What I'm trying to say is just don't go here. My first, and only experience here as we rent at our family's condo literally next to this place! I wanted to try something new. Anyway, walk in the door and the sign says wait to be seated. 5 minutes of standing there (10 people sitting). I walk to the bar and wait for the human to do her job. With a nice little rude can I help you? I said I wanted a table so we could eat. She said then go ahead. (??????). 10 minutes goes by not a glance, not a greeting, not a menu, not even a drink. All patrons staring like little snobby school children. If you are not open to the public then say so. If it's private for residents only then say so. Don't make people uncomfortable because I'm not in a senior age range.

Trashy bar all around. Food was non existent in my eyes but yet specials were listed. Very dark lighting so you don't see all the literal stained carpet. There is a reason this place is run down. Its run by seniors and they sure don't...

My husband and I decided to try Harry The Hats for a late supper. We went by Walmart and saw this bar with an interesting menu still open. We were told the kitchen is open until 10:30. Just before we entered the server covering the floor was sent home. The bartender, however, was absolutely great! He managed the bar and handled our food order as well. The food was flavorful, served hot, and of good quality. There is definitely a bar vibe, and it was obvious some patrons had been there for a while. But no one was rowdy or aggressive. There is a separate room with pool tables. We hope to check out that area on our next visit.

Mellow, casual place: went for happy hour and would recommend if in the area. Greeted and waited on quickly. We tried 4 of their specials: steak tips, fish tacos, mozzarella sticks and alligator bites. The steak tips were served over mashed potatoes- tasty and big enough for a whole meal. Two fish tacos were served which were very good & fresh. The mozzarella sticks were for the kids along with the gator bites. Attached to the bar area is a room with games- perfect for the kids.A good experience for us and glad we tried Harry the Hats.
