My husband and I are annual residents of Apache Campground. We decided to finally give it a try last night for dinner. I had the fried shrimp and flounder basket, and my husband (not a seafood fan) had the burger and fries. Normally I'm not a coleslaw eater but absolutely loved theirs! The fish and shrimp were outstanding, cooked perfectly with just a thin coating of batter that didn't overwhelm the filet or shrimp. The hush puppies were just ok, the best I've ever had were cooked by my neighbor and none have topped his since!! I didn't need to ask my hubby if he enjoyed his burger because the ENTIRE basket was empty all but the paper, before I was halfway through mine!!! Lol.... We both opted for a beer....bottle for me and a draft for him. A little pricey but no more than anyone else in the area. Except here you get one hella of a view!!! It was refreshing to have friendly, smiling faces in a relaxed atmosphere versus what used to be a tense working environment caused by the last owner. Tim (the new owner) who stopped by our table to ask how everything was, is very kind and thanked us for our patronage. A huge improvement over our past experiences! I hope they have a phenomenal summer season and will stay with us here at Apache for many...
Read moreWe ate here during beach week. To start out on a positive note our server, Wuendy, was outstanding. She was always stopping by to check to see if we needed refills on our beverages, that the food was okay, and basically just to check to see if there was anything we needed. Our party of 3 ordered crab legs and a grilled chicken sandwich with a side of corn on the cob. My niece said the crab legs were delicious but the grilled chicken sandwich and corn was terrible. The corn was overcooked as was the grilled chicken. The lettuce on the sandwich was wilted and white like you see in the core of a head of lettuce. I'm sorry but if you can't even cook corn or use lettuce that is green you are not going to receive high marks. The restaurant was busy and there was a lot of traffic from the pier and camp ground nearby. I would recommend this restaurant if you are wanting crab legs(imported from Canada which is weird considering they are located by the ocean and there is locally sourced crab available) but for anything else I would suggest looking elsewhere. This is a mom and pop business and I would love to support it with a positive review but they need to focus on delivering better quality food and cooking it correctly. Good...
Read moreFirst time to Dine at GofP and it wasn't a disappointment! We a arrived around 4pm on a weekday and there was a line already! We waited about 20 min and was brought to our table. Zy'kia greeted us, had some small talk took our drink order and about 10 min brought out drinks and took our food order. Pretty big menu, not a empty table in house and people still waiting and standing in the rain for a table.
We ordered sweet teas,Grouper Bite Basket Extra Hush puppies,Crab cake sandwich, double burger, flounder & shrimp and Flounder basket.
Food arrived about 20 min everyone dove in and started lunch! The only thing that caught us off guard was the hush puppies...not what we normally have but they were good but sweet almost like a funnel cake!
Food was excellent and the server even though seemed to be ran thin still was able to make it to our table to check on us once in awhile.
Not a bad dinner spot at all.. we were within walking distance so that was a...
