I booked a room for 3 days during Hurricane Ida. A friend referred the hotel and the availability was great. Spoke with Steven gave him my name arrived at hotel. I explained to him I wanted the room for 3 days departing on Friday. I arrived Tuesday night approx 9pm. I explained I would check out on Friday but was paying through Thursday and if it was ok as I reached for a different card to pay Thursday for Friday, he stated to me "that's ok come down Thursday to pay because I have u booked through Friday". On Tuesday I called downstairs to ask about TV being inoperable and the night auditor Barbara(Barb) had an attitude. She explain the cable service was out due to storm, when probably it was a matter of resetting system. I asked her "do you all give a credit for not having an operable TV" oh I was told with a sassy tone, "no cause we have no control over the cable company".....very unprofessional response.( I apologize for the cable being an inconvenience but unfortunately we don't credit your account but we're working diligently to solve the problem)......this would have sufficed. The Thursday I called to ask could my mother come make the Friday payment and Barbara ( Barb) told me with an attitude "I had to check out". I explained to her the agreement I spoke with Steven about, she began to run off at the mouth, speaking over me as if I was a child and had not just spent $288.00 at this hotel. Well when I told her "do not speak over me" she slammed the phone down as I spoke. I called back spoke with manager Christi, very professional explained entire situation she stated "I had to leave". I felt Steven recanted what we spoke about because I could have taken another minute to get another card to pay for the 3rd night. I was exhausted from the long drive and I trusted his agreement. Several hotels during the storm Ida over booked customers and it was never offered to try making the wrong-wright. To add too what a person was dealing with evacuating from their home this staff did not help the matter. My family grew up in this town, my mother was a graduate in 1961 from Rosenwald High School. My grandparents were prominent very respected people. To find a room in a familiar home town with opportunity to site see some new infrastructure was ideal. I will never stay at this hotel ever again. I will definitely not recommend and if Barb is on vacation everyone is lucky! I've worked with the Government 30 years and im dealing with the public daily. I've never treated a client in this manner. To hang the phone up in a person's face is like slapping them or spitting in their face. This young unprofessional lady(barb) need to be trained on how to deal with people in the hospitality business. I'm sure her behavior is acceptable due to the low available employees. BY THE WAY DID I MENTION I WAS ON CRUTCHES WITH...
Read moreOn the surface this looks like a nice place. It looks modern and the people are nice, but that’s where the good ends. The elevator doesn’t work, or at least we were told it didn’t. There are no signs saying it does not work. 🤷🏻♂️ The ice machine is out on the second floor. For three days there was the same junk on the floor inside the stairwell. Speaking of stairwell, the regular side doors didn’t work with the cards so the stairwell door was open to the public the whole time we were there. Only one small trashcan in the room. It was in the bathroom. The remote didn’t work. I went and got batteries from the front desk and the remote still didn’t work. The room smelled like mold. The towels were super thin and scratchy instead of soft. One even had stains. Only sheets on the beds. No comforters. And no blankets or comforters in the drawers. Speaking of drawers, while looking for blankets we found two bags of old cereal in the drawers. No ac in the halls so combined with the humidity here in the south and the air in the room that made our front uncarpeted area wet and slippery. The breakfast warmers were either not on or were turned down so low that the food was all cold. And when I tried to turn one of them up the lady got mad at me and told me that was what the microwave was for. 😂 If the food had been warm the breakfast would not have been bad. They had a waffle maker, some roasted potatoes biscuits fried eggs and one morning sausage the next ham.
So if you have read to the bottom of this and are wondering if you should stay here, I can’t really say. I guess it depends on the other options. They really need to update this one with some fresh paint and maybe some...
Read moreThis property opened in 2017. I stayed at this location last year and this year during the Harvest Festival weekend. On both occasions the hotel went without power. The first time I allowed the 10 % discount to suffice since there was a storm. This year the power was in and out. That is guests sitting in the dark and without air conditioning for hours. Once we awoke to get the day started the hot water did not work. I attempted to contact corporate to let them know that the phones in the hotel were inoperable and the front desk's phone is going straight to voicemail. The representative rudely stated that she is in Arizona and there is nothing she can do about it. The only thing she could try to do is attempt to call the property (even after I advised calling the property was not possible). I calmly explained to her that I have a young child and I need someone to contact regarding the matter. She explained that each property was individually owned. This helped. The next morning I was able to see that the property is owned and operated by Ishaan Hospitality, LLC and Perry Patel is the manager. The lady at the front desk advised the owner is offering a 10% discount. To pay $312 for two nights I believe this is unacceptable. No matter how clean the property is we should at least have basic needs i.e., hot water and electricity. This is unacceptable and my family and I will not be returning to this property. Absolutely ridiculous! To make matters worst, the front desk agent stated regular fees will be charged and a discount will be assessed in the future so now I have to watch my bank statement in hopes that the owner honors...
