If you are looking to book a stay here at this Best Western location, do not bother wasting your time. The hotel is now a raggedy a5s shelter with a single housing specialist for the WHOLE building. This is a family shelter with babies and pregnant women and fathers on their own with no help from the âofficialsâ in the building. Want to feed your baby? Donât buy baby food since youâre not allowed to glass or metal, okay? No exceptions. Most likely theyâll recommend putting your stage 2 gerber apple sauce in a plastic bag and bring it up to your room. How convenient đđđ˝. The Department of Homeless Services had came for inspection for the whole building but the days leading up to the visit, the staff hurried to cover their own by trying to overhaul peopleâs room so they can seem like they take care of the people in there. The maintenance man for the building knocked on the room door one day unexpectedly with not a lick of English understanding but putty, paint and carpentry equipment saying he has work to do. Maybe you have stuff in your room that you might want to move. Maybe the area they need to work on is directly above WHERE YOUR BABY SLEEPS. It doesnât matter. Itâs not even his fault because you know they just tell him what to do and he does it đ¤ˇđ˝ââď¸. You just have to hope for the best that that does not affect your child later that night. I feel bad for the families with kids staying here for 1+ years with no kitchen or laundry machine. Iâm sure the people that work in the building are relieved to leave when their shift is over from sitting down doing nothing on their phones all day. Yâall need to do better. Some people donât have a place to call home. Some of these kids never had a home in a first place. Just a mother and/or father that tries their absolute best to meet their needs in an environment that stunts their development. Count your blessings and God be...
Read moreA disaster ... no hot water, broken elevator, no breakfast service and room door left open by cleaning staff. Had reservations for a 2 night stay. Showed up at 6pm to check in and were notified that there would no be hot water or morning breakfast bar service during our stay. Said they could not help finding an alternative hotel. And would not even provide a discount. We were stuck.
Breakfast consisted of a âgrab and goâ served in a crumbled up paper bag with a banana, orange and a couple of packaged muffins. No Coffee available to go with it In lobby.
Left for the day at 8:30am, got back at 4pm. Found the door latched open/unlocked, no one around and the room not serviced. Turns out the cleaning staff opened up the room then 'forgot' to clean and lock it, After calling the front desk at 6pm, they finally came in to service the room.
The second day, we woke up to check out. Turn out the single elevator was out of service. Had to walk down 5 flights with luggage. They do have a 'second' elevator but it only goes up to the second floor. Not helpful.
Room was very small. No space/luggage stand to open up suit cases except for the bed. Room A/C and WiFi were good.
It should ne noted that the hotel has only been open for a few weeks. But this kind of service is way out of line for any hotel,...
Read moreWhile the cleanliness of the rooms and overall hotel were good the customer service was mediocre. The front desk were not friendly at all. Guest arriving after midnight were loud with no regard to other guest whom were already in bed. Hotel has no protocol for loud guests. The hot breakfast was a joke to say the least. Their idea of a complete hot breakfast was a doggie bag with a stale, cold egg sandwich (purchased from a near by bodega) and an apple. When I then asked for some orange juice (I donât drink coffee or tea) the young man stated âgo back to your room and make your own teaâ. How rude! At that point, I questioned the misleading information on their website and reservations agent conversations regarding amenities. As I expected, no direct answer! Do not waste your time or money at this hotel if you want to enjoy your stay in NYC. P.S. If you are driving to this hotel be prepared to park outside on the street (if you find one) since their idea of parking for a hotel consist of 10 parking spaces in the back of the hotel with no signs to guide you! TerribleâŚ. Save yourself some time and aggravation! Do not recommend this hotel and...
