Hotel 365 Bronx — Hotel in New York

This has to be the worst place I’ve stayed in my life.||If I could give negative stars I would.||||The pictures on booking.com look NOTHING like their photos - do not be fooled ! Rooms are smelly, dated, windows were broken, heaters were broken, there was 0 soundproofing from the train outside, 0 soundproofing from rooms inside, leaky shower head, poor cleaning, dirty inadequate bedding.||||I changed 3 rooms after checking in and all 3 were equally bad.||||The rooms were disgusting -there was a STENCH of stale cigarette smoke which had been absorbed into the furniture and walls of all the rooms on top of constant smell of marijuana. The entire building smelt of cigarette smoke and weed. I booked a non-smoking room and do not expect this. If you are providing a non-smoking room, the expectation is that no one has been allowed to smoke in that room. When I spoke to the manager she tried to convince me that smoke was travelling from the upper floors (which are smoking rooms) down the third floor. ||||Reception staff were EXTREMELY rude and did not want to help - this included the manager, despite me going a few times to raise my concerns. I was denied a refund for the night I hadn’t stayed as the room was non-refundable except the place was falsely advertised to every degree so I should have been refunded and booking.com were very happy to refund, the manager simply refused.||||Now here’s the worst part - prostitution is rife in the hotel here. This building is actively being used by men to bring prostitutes into the building. I saw this on a number of separate occasions whilst I was here. On one occasion, someone was haggling with the receptionist on the hourly rate of room after making it clear he was with a prostitute and only needed the room for 2 hours.||The staff at the hotel are very much aware of this illegal activity taking place and turning a blind eye and it happens through all hours of the day. ||||The receptionist insisted twice that I scan the Google review QR code on check-out and leave a good review, which made me laugh and might explain the half decent reviews here.||I don’t normally leave reviews but here’s mine as requested.||||To summarise - staff are rude, rooms are nothing like pictures, 0 soundproofing, fragrance of stale smoke and marijuana throughout hotel and active prostitution.||||Avoid this place like...

I have to admit that I was expecting worse. I read the comments before leaving for NY and was a bit reluctant to stay there. Turned out that my stay was pleasant.

Front desk people were all very friendly. Rooms are basic but no amenities were missing. TV, soap, towels, hot/cold water, aircon/fan all there and working just fine. Room was clean. Plenty of space to put down your suitcases. Sound proofing could be better but other guests were quietish so it didn't bother me. The noise of the aircon covered them all anyway. Maybe we just got lucky and didn't get the party floor.

I think people expectations are a bit high. They don't advertise as a 5 stars hotel so don't expect one! I read comments like no microwaves in the room, no coffee machine, no restaurant. It's a no frill hotel that does what it's supposed to do. By the way, they do have a microwave for guests in the lobby.

The parking is quite small but again, we we're lucky enough to get the last spot. Upon check out, more space was available.

The neighborhood is not great and there's really not much to do. However, I never felt unsafe and people we talked to were very nice. It's only a short walk to the Yankee Stadium.

The hotel is conveniently located near two subway stops. 25-30 minutes ride to Manhattan.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would stay there again...

Absolutely terrible customer service!!! I had a reservation to stay at this hotel for 4 nights! The area is not safe at all, there is a homeless person leaving in their parking lot! So be aware of what you’re getting into. I requested a cancellation in the fisrt night, based on terms of my booking I should’ve been charged for the first night only. I’ve been waiting and calling every day for 10 days to get my refund and each time they say the manager is not here. Don’t be deceived by the pictures of the hotel. Avoid at all costs! Wish I could give negative stars to this review.

Just editing this review since I see the response by the owner, and I can’t directly reply to that. Of course that they have some made up stories ready to respond to 1 star reviews. On top of terrible customer service looks like they can lie as easily as well. We were two people only who left the property half an hour after checking in with absolutely no verbal abuse to the front desk. Just look at the owner response to other 1 star reviews and you see how desperate they are to make up stories to hide their terrible...
