Beautiful South Bronx waterfront Park about 10 acres in size (and scheduled to double in size by expanding into the lot directly South up to three 145th Street Bridge).
The park had a nice windy path taking you through it and past the tennis courts (16 with 14 covered under a bubble) and the Tennis clubhouse at the historic and landmark old power station building. In 2017 the second floor will house the permanent home of the Bronx Children's Museum.
Such a great place to get away from the concrete jungle but a bit of noisy as the Deegan Expressway aka I87 roars overhead.
There's so much potential to connect the entire waterfront and create a similar system to that of Manhattan's West Side.
I can't give it 5 stars because the tennis court fees are beyond the reach of most local residents therefore it's exudes a huge segment of the population that can't afford it. Instead it's used by many folks from outside the area including from across the river...

Cook things that make it stand out is the designated barbeque area and the trail that is actually trim and landscaped in which it allows the unique plants, waterway and even a pond or two actually "pop’/out where it becomes a central focus point.. Read moreNo restroom in the actual Park area only at the tennis area that's very horrible and unthoughtful to people who actually come to the park it's very selfish and very rude that people have to go all the way to the tennis area to use the restroom no porta potties nowhere in sight it's a very long walk from the Park area so if you got to go you better pray you don't pee on yourself because there is no place to go they don't have enough red coal garbage canisters either anywhere in the park so if you have to dump out your charcoal there's only one or two garbage cans...
