It is an OK hotel donāt get me wrong but for $300/night I was expecting it to be better. Iām not a big fan of the whole airplane theme they have going on. Mind you this hotel was remodeled a year ago. First the good, really nice comfy bed and the room was spacious. My flight landed a bit early, but Von at the front desk was more than accommodating, he was awesome! And his customer service skills are beyond good. Sadly after that everything went downhill. I wasnāt able to connect my iPad to watch Hulu, Netflix, HBO Max, Paramount +, Disney +, Apple TV or Prime Video, I was basically told I donāt know whatās wrong canāt fix it, but you can watch YouTube. After trying for a while, unplugging and plugging back the TV, resetting my iPad, resetting the Wi-Fi and uninstalling and installing back the apps, I finally gave up. By this time Von was gone and there was a guy whom I asked for his name ( so I could call him by his name ) and he wouldnāt tell me for some reason. Black talk guy, he was horrible to deal with, nasty attitude and overall a miserable vibe, I called him for slippers and thinking, like Von with the TV, heād come to the room to drop them off but no, he gave me the biggest attitude and told me to ā come get them ā so I did, Iāve never heard of you having to go get stuff that shouldāve been in the room from the front desk in a ā 4 Star Hotel ā but here we are, I was so disgusted by his attitude that I forgot to ask him about room service, so when I got back to the room I called and ask about room service, but again I was met with the nastiest attitude, like how dare I ask about room service, again I just wanted to get off the phone so bad that I forgot to ask about the airport shuttle. So I called back to ask and again, nasty attitude. ā the shuttle leaves every hour on the hour ā so I asked ( because again, there are things you come to expect from a 4 star hotel ) what if I need to leave at 20 past the hour, would they be available to take me? And againā¦. He replies with an attitude: ā again the shuttle leaves every hour on the hour ā so I hung up and decided not to call the front desk again for anything, just based on the attitude I got from him I will never be back. Now the surrounding area and the ā view ā: horrible, horrible area I mean itās College Point, but you wouldāve thought theyād pick a better area, it was HORRIBLE, so much so that I wouldnāt go out at night. And the view, the view was laughable ( will insert pics below ), unless you like the view of the roof of houses thereās absolutely no view whatsoever. Now the room, it was spacious but it looked cheap, there wasnāt even a chair to sit on, you know how nice hotels have a nice lounge chair or a recliner? This place had neither, it had a tiny little plastic chair under the ā desk ā & a dirty, cheap looking pull out sofa. Everything looked cheap & badly designed, the ā kitchen ā was well, not a kitchen, just an empty mini fridge, a small sink that had way too much water pressure so whenever you used the sink water splashed everywhere,a cheap coffee maker & a cheap electric hot water kettle, there was also a little box hanging off the wall which purpose was unknown. The bathroom: the mirrors were dirty & full of water streaks, the toilet paper holder was falling off, there were little holes on the wall, and the toilet paper was that from the 99 cent store.Again, everything looked cheap.I know it sounds like iām nitpicking but when you pay $300 a night thereāre certain things you come to expect. ( pics below ). The restaurants: thereās only 2 & none offer delivery to your room. Both Chinese food,One buffet and a regular one. The food looked meh OK.I didnāt eat but the buffet was expensive, the girl told me fifty something dollars per person or something like that, definitely not worth it,I checked it out and the food they served was maybe worthy of $20-$25 max per person. The other restaurant had more reasonable prices.Overall,I wouldnāt stay here again, cause of the black guy at the front deskās attitude & itās...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI wanted to take the time to articulate a glowing review for the voco Fiorello - LaGuardia East after a last minute 2-night stay. The reviews seemed promising, and as an airline employee, I needed a hotel near LaGuardia airport with shuttle service to and from my terminal, and this property checked off those boxes. What I was not expecting was the level of service provided and offered at this hotel, and let me just say, I have found my home away from home! I will not gloss over a few areas where this hotel could use some improvement, but what I would like to emphasize is that this property is a hidden gem, and while I imagine writing such a fond review might drive sales up, I honestly believe this property deserves the praise and business. It is uniquely located within a commercial building in the Flushing/College Point area. The main elevator services a few food business on the front end, but the hotel floors have a separate button system on the back end of the elevator, making it accessible for everyone, and all of the buttons are marked āHā for āHOTELā with the floor number. I will be writing a separate letter to IHG about the level of service I received from Brooke at the front desk upon checking in, and the entire front desk team at the property. Brooke made it her mission that I experience everything that the hotel had to offer on my short stay in the hopes that I return, providing me details about the building and assisting me with one-off requests like laundry and questions about the restaurants located in the building. Her dedication to providing a good experience is rare to encounter these days, and I was very impressed by her determination to ensure that I would enjoy my stay. I do, however, need to mention a few areas for improvement: my hotel room (403) had a very strong odor, almost like a lacquer or polish of some sort, and I had room spray in one of my bags and did everything I could to thin the odor but it did NOT go away- it was so pungent that I could smell it in my sleep and I was so close to calling down to the front desk for a new room but was just too exhausted and had already unpacked; it was just a heavy smell that lingered my entire stay, and nothing I did would make it go away. Secondly, the thermostat never brought the room down to below 70°, it was fighting for its life! I know air-conditioning is a foreign concept in NYC, but you would assume from the modern design of this hotel that the A/C would be new and would effortlessly cool down such a compact hotel room? I stay in a lot of hotels in my line of work, and this was the first time I came across such a glamorous property where the A/C in the room didnāt cool down to the lowest setting- and I knew it was an issue when the hallway outside my door was colder than my room! Lastly, there was no glassware in the room, and when I inquired at the front desk for a wine glass, the gentleman at the desk sent me to the rooftop bar to ask for one. The waitress I spoke with just about laughed in my face and told me there were plastic cups I could use right in front of me, and I took one to get out of there as quickly as possible. I didnāt appreciate the immediate hostility, I even told her the front desk had sent me, but her attitude remained so unpleasant. She did that side-eye to her coworker thing where she looks for validation in ridiculing me, as if I was asking her to empty her tip jar and put it in my wallet. As much as I intend to return to this hotel, I will never, ever patronize the rooftop bar based solely on how I was treated for asking a simple question that could have been responded to with, āIām sorry, but unfortunately we cannot give glassware to take to your roomā and I would have thanked her and been on my way. Anyway, overall, this hotel had everything I needed to rest and prepare for my next trip, and I was very impressed with many of its features and offerings. A great hotel when all said and done, with an exceptional team managing...
