This is a municipally owned campground and beach/public park. Facilities are older but well maintained and clean. They have WiFi in the park and with good range although I didn’t try streaming or check the speed. There is a spot to launch kayaks or similar and they rent them too. The only thing preventing me from giving this 5 stars is the lack of privacy. Many of the sites are close together and there isn’t any landscaping between them. Being a public park and beach there is some traffic through the campground during the day. We were there in the fall so it wasn’t bad, if you stay in peak summer months I’d expect it to be busy during the day. The location is the star here. With lake and mountains to the west sunsets can be spectacular. There is plenty of access to the lake shore to view wildlife and I found some trails through the woods adjacent to the park good for dog walking. The Bebe spur “rail” trail runs right by the entrance to the park. Downtown Newport is a short bike ride from campground and the well maintained gravel trail extends about 5 miles north to the Canadian border. Most of the trail is right along the lake with some excellent views. Camp hosts and day staff were very friendly and helpful checking us in and delivering wood etc. We would...

I'll be honest, I have a long tie to Prouty Beach. Growing up my grandparents would frequently camp here and they are now seasonals. I spent a lot of time there. The first and foremost complain I have is the noise. I understand that they are trying to update the area but do it when camping is not in season. There are dump trucks that constantly run by my grandmothers campsite. With all this traffic of dump trucks it makes it hard to truly enjoy the camping experience. They are unable to eat outside at the picnic table because of how much dust is created. This year is the worst year to be a camper at this location. No I am not a regular camper at this facility but I do spent a lot of time there and I see the struggles that these campers are dealing with. I really hope next year is different. As for this year I really dont...

A quiet campground with some sites overlooking the water and others under the partial shade of the maple trees. The sites in the middle are very close together and mixed amongst session or permanent sites.

No issues with the hook ups and they recommend you have a regulator due to the high water pressure. There is a laundry room which we used. There were washers ($2.00) and 3 dryers ($0.25 for 5 minutes).

There is a nice path for biking and walking. You can use it to walk downtown (not much there) or to a border crossing.

The campground is clean. The staff, especially the lady in the office, are awesome.

A hidden gem to drive or walk to is T Bar and Hoagies Pizza and Pasta. They’re connected. The food and drinks were good and reasonable. Next door is Village Market grocery store with had liquor...
