We are very dismayed . We stayed here over the weekend and while we thought the service was great initially - we got a call at 9:20 at night on a Sunday night stating that they were calling the police because even though we provided a credit card and paid, they had trouble running the payment we told them that we were at dinner and that we would call them after and we had no problem taking care of the payment. She said she should’ve taken care of it in the morning, but nobody was there upon checkout. That was on her so she proceed to disrupt our weekend. She called us five times while we were at dinner, even though we said that we were going to dinner and we were in the car when she called. I would not recommend staying here if you do want good service . No one is available ever and are very inconsiderate . Breakfast consisted of apples btw and crap keurog coffee . I will not stay here again. The owner seems to have a lot of anxiety. We took care of the payment within 12 hours of our stay. I’m so upset that somebody running a hospitality industry would have to wherewithal to treat her guests like this . If you have this much anxiety and can’t stand to collect payment within 12 hours after stay because you had a busy morning and decided to disrupt our evening, you should not be running a hospitality industry. It’s rude and inconsiderate and honestly on you to not have collected payment before we left when we thought we were all settled . Shame on you for disrupting what otherwise would’ve been a wonderful review and vacation and evening and I cannot wait to tell everyone not...
Read moreHubby and I decided to spend a night in Newport for a short getaway during Memorial Day. The price was fair for the quality, service, and location. On the day of check-in, the host text messaged me to keep in touch regarding ETA of check in, check in instructions and check out instructions. We’ve been to Newport before and have always been in awe at the coastal town but Admiral Sim’s House definitely delivered. We pulled in to the driveway of a multi level historic home with neatly trimmed landscape and green grass. The weather was perfect and sunny with birds chirping in the distance. There were stairs to the main entrance of the home. Our room was on the second floor, so we went up a couple flights of stairs with our belongings (no elevator of course). We stayed in the Ocean Room that was tastefully coastal decorated and so clean. The King bed comfortable as ever, the room was very spacious. It had a good sized closet, big bathroom! Our short but sweet night stay was wonderful. It was quiet at night. Did I mention it was pet friendly?! We highly recommend others to stay at Admiral Sims House. We will...
Read moreAround check time, owner messaged me to confirm arrive time. When I arrived late at 8pm, A message was left for me at entrance, with door opened for me.
The owners saw me and asked as it was late how about have some simple food at home if don't want to go outside. I got some home-made pie (or certain style pizza) And they told me I can heat it less than 1min in Microwave at room. It was so delicious Besides they showed me the photo they collected for this house, which owned by admiral Sim, former president of Naval War college nearby. I chose this Bed and Breakfast first out of this history.
It could easily be found the owners have great taste and are detail driven. The tank, faucet, white marble fireplace, color of bedsheet and towl… it makes me feel like at home and gets me inspired for home improvement🙂
If I go to newport I shall...
