Some hotels offer their elegance with a grand lobby and bar. Everything is palace like. Marble, glass, more marble, brass, maybe ect. Ect. And sure a twenty story lobby with a palace like lobby and fantastic room service at $200 a pop can be great for a certain kind of trip but what about when out of town visiting family or away on business when you just want to be guaranteed the comforts of home without absolutely putting a dent in your wallet. This hotel is one of the best for that type of customer. They way the hotel is designed makes you feel like you actually could be at home. Everything is cozy. It almost has that sort of ** bed n breakfast feel without the camp factor. If your staying longer than a day or two and you still would like your beds made and room cleaned you'll just need to request it with a door hanger. There is a wonderful hot breakfast every morning which has enough variety that there is something for any type of preference. Health nut, sure. Have your heart set on comfort food, it's there. The surrounding area offers nothing to be desired and if your staying here I doubt that's why your here anyway so it doesn't matter. The extra HDMI port on the two televisions ( one in bedroom, one in a living area ) is deactivated in a hotel mode of some kind but if you must use a peripheral of your own just unplug the HDMI cable that's in slot 1 and you'll be good to go. I' prefer to stream my own content via chrome cast as opposed to satellite TV. The king bed is very comfortable and the large Bay style window in the bedroom has a privacy curtain in case you'd like to keep all the sunshine out while you sleep in. One thing that I love about this hotel, if you have forgotten any kind of hygiene product. Be it shaving cream, razors , tooth brush, comb or something else along those lines the front desk will provide it to you at no cost. I noticed they have diapers for the parents of small children should they run into an emergency and need something. The room has a small fridge, microwave, a coffee maker stocked with coffee. The WiFi is free and is very fast for shared Internet. Speed check tested at around 10mb/s down and that was at prime time when many people were probably online. Also, there is a shuttle bus that offers free transpor wuthij a five mile radius ( not sure if they offer round trip,...
Read moreFor the price, I am not surprised, but then again I have been to their hotels in this price range that acted and performed like a high end hotel. My overall assessment is that cogéré are a lot of simple things I would improve just to change of the feel of the place. First and foremost the outside needs to be taken care of better as far as the grass, trash and the grooming of the few trees and bushes they have around the building. The lobby looks nice, but whoever is on duty is back in a room away from the desk so to me that is a bit off putting and doesn’t feel like good customer service. Every time one walks past the desk they should be greeted with a hello. The room leaves a lot to be desired. Normally walking into a hotel room the first time, it seems fresh and ready for you. This building, rooms, and all the things in the room are outdated or old. Carpet needs to be replaced, stains on the couches and chairs, and the locks on the windows are broken and needs to be repaired. Also there are no screens on said windows. The “fitness center” left a lot to be desired, but at least there is one. I have stayed with other pricier hotels that did not have a fitness center, although, there are no towels offered in said fitness center, with nothing to clean off the machines once you are done. Overall, this was not a great experience, but it was not the worst hotel experience I have had either. The cleaning staff is by far the best part of the staff and the most pleasant part of the entire experience. Those two stars are for the nice cleaning staff! The breakfast offered is devoid of a variety and is...
Read moreI’ll start with the good. The cleanliness of the hotel grounds was great. The lobby area upon entry had cereal (Cinnamon Toast Crunch) wasted on the floor and stairs. And by the looks of it, had been there since the early morning since I was told breakfast was between 7am-9am (I arrived around 11:20am). The front desk clerk was nice. I was told I would have to wait at least a hour before I could check in early due to rooms being sold out the night before. I was ok with that, I was called within 30mins to notify me that I was able to come check in that a room was prepared for me. I was happy until I got to the room. First thing I do once in a room (since I’m in housekeeping is check the bed) I get to the room and the bed was half made and no pillow cases were on the pillows. Someone had also been smoking in the room because when people like to smoke in the room they put plastic bags over the smoke detector (which was left behind). Also the mirror next to the bathroom door was dirty (look as if someone child had been kissing on it and rubbing their fingers across it). Also, the TV in the front area did not work. Lastly, the noise from the other guest staying was RIDICULOUS!! The walls are super thin. The lady staying next to me was so loud to a point I could hear her swearing at her children. And the room above me the children in there was running, loud talking, and swearing until about 3am in the morning. By the second day I couldn’t take it and checked out at 4am in the morning. I hope they can make these things better. Otherwise I don’t see myself staying at another Radisson property...
