As a Elite Member of Marriott and Hilton resorts I am sick to my stomach that I did not book my stay with the Marriott or a few other places I love staying... The townhomes are out dated but this does not mean it should be dirty and unclean. Upon arriving there was a stench that smelled as if the place has not been touched. The bathroom shower door upstairs was broke and hanging off the track, the floor was not swept I had to clean the bathroom floor. There were food, crumbs from the previous guest. The refrigerator is disgusting you can tell it has not Been wiped down in quit some time. The water pressure is very low so it was hard to take a shower. I had to shower somewhere else because the inside of the shower was very unclean. Of course everything was reported to guest services. Well.. while I was away maintenance came, they destroyed the shower and left it dirty on top of the original dirtyness. I'm beyond baffled that there are no staff training, no communication and no professionalism. The maintenance guy left, did not tell the front desk it needs housekeeping by the time I arrived it was late evening and of course guest services says there is no housekeeping. Now you would think to begin service recovery they would have made a much better attempt. I asked for the MOD front desk stated there is no MOD so a place this big with all of these guest there is no one for support. I can't even begin on describing when you turn on the shower the pipes are so loud it sounds like someone is banging in-between the walls. It startle my pops because it was sudden at 1am and we were walking around trying to figure out where the noise was coming from. 😒 I'm still not done. The power goes in and out. My son and I were in the living room talking the lights started to flicker then everything went out this happened twice. My family and I reserved 3 townhomes for 4 families. We came to enjoy a 5 day vacation as we do every year which we had a blast but our stay is the worse I have seen in a very long time..... I will ensure that this information is shared with Chris Green, LaTenza Frink, Nicole Maurer who is the GM and Rachelle Angwin this terrible issue reflects all departments and all management. Thank God I travel with my cleaning wipes, disinfectant spray etc... Bring your sheets, blankets, bring a broom and dust pan, bring pillow cases the housekeeper did not change the pull out sofa pillow cases. Now let's look at some pros, very good location, decent indoor pool nothing is resort style so do not expect a high end cozy environment or even pool furniture. The place is kid friendly. Cons, no service recovery which means I will take this to corporate, no staff support they do not care at all. No effort to help with the situation and I had to give my daughter a bird bath due to no water pressure, messed up pipes and nasty bathrooms. If you stay at The Links do a full walk through first!!!!!! I'm a travel advisor and just celebrated my 6th year with Google. My accreditation is with BBB so I will ensure they are aware of this place and will also contact the health inspector this is an unsafe...
Read moreMy family stayed here for our vacation in Myrtle Beach. I was a little concerned based on the pictures I saw online. I was glad to see that the interior was somewhat renovated. You could tell that the renovations were done on a budget and with little craftsmanship. The units are pretty much apartments. Both bedrooms are upstairs. Master bedroom has a queen bed with en suite and small deck access. The other bathroom has 2 twin size beds and bathroom en suite. Washer and dryer are also upstairs. Both bedrooms have walk-in showers which was nice, especially when bathing little ones after a day at the beach. The 1st floor has a kitchen with shared living with dining room space. There is also a full bath on the 1st level. The kitchen has a coffee maker, toaster, microwave, blender, and electric can opener. The couch pulls out into a queen sized bed. Our unit was fairly clean. However, we did find several roaches (or a Palmetto bug as they are referred to here) during our stay. This made us a little more cautious about leaving food out for any period of time.
My family did enjoy the pond out back. There is a short pier that you can walk out on and feed the turtles. We ended up buying some turtle food because the dispenser was empty. The resort also had daily activities for both kids and adults. We attended the movie night event. It was kind of hard to hear the movie over the kids playing in the pool but we still enjoyed it. They do have a small playground with swings. The resort is in a good location- very close to all the stores and restaurants and not far from the beach. There is no housekeeping and they do not swap out dirty linens. You will have to wash your own towels. They do have shuttle vans to take you to and from the beach at different times during the day.
I gave 3 stars based on the condition of the unit and the bug problem. Overall, I probably would stay here again if I couldn’t find another resort available. It’s a good option for families as the units are pretty decent in size. If you’re looking for luxury and amenities you need to...
Read moreThis place was reserved through my mother’s vacation club, and I’m beyond disappointed that this was recommended to us as a place to stay in Myrtle Beach. We had 4 rooms and we all had issues. Not sure how this place has high ratings, because I’ve stayed at motels better than this. My kids were so disappointed with their stay that they don’t even want to return to Myrtle Beach. The only positive was the staff, who were very polite and respectful, and the pools. The cleaning staff need to be fired, they are literally walking around with a caddy and two cleaning products, no wonder why the rooms are so dirty!!
Below are all the issues/callouts: The place is outdated- furniture is old. I feel like I was living on the set of three’s company. Lounge chairs are old, they were mismatch and the mesh chairs had mildew on them, while the plastic ones were falling apart. The master bedroom shower door was broke and wouldn’t close all the way. There was mildew on the shower door and tiles. Hair in the bathroom& in random places. The floors were dirty as well as the entryway mat. The fridge, cabinets, & dressers were dirty. The dishes were dirty and I had to rewash them. The sofabed had stains, crumbs, and grease marks on the mattress protector. In the master bedroom my sheets smelled like urine and my bed had to get replaced. The towels were stained and I had to wash them twice. The fridge sounds like it was about to explode, the noise didn’t subside until I was preparing for check out. On our last day, my daughter had bed bug bites on her arms. So we had to pack all our clothes in plastic bags that had to get washed again when we got home, and my kids had to sleep with me because I refused to let them stay in the second bedroom. My son saw a bed bug on the sofa. The fan in the master bedroom doesn’t even have a switch to adjust the speed and it’s loud. I literally had to clean the entire place because we were staying there for 7 days. On top of the not so friendly patrons....
