We rolled into town and the family almost immediately settled on Thai food for dinner. Looked at all the reviews and headed out for Thai Season.
It's on the end of a small strip mall, and when you walk in everything is very clean. There's a full bar and about 20 tables inside with a few tables outside. We were seated quickly and our drink orders taken. The menu resembles most every Thai restaurant I've visited, so it was easy to pick out a dish.
Altogether we had massaman curry, ginger chicken, a chicken noodle dish and fried rice. The food came out pretty quickly, but not in a way that I'm used to being served. I'm used to getting a bowl of curry, a small bowl of rice, a spoon and a plate. However here I got the bowl, the small rice, no plates, and not enough spoons. We did have small appetizer plates, so I just used one of those, but the server wasn't to be found while we were eating.
The massaman curry was excellent, and I probably would have drank the sauce/broth off the spoon if I had one. Probably a good thing. The portion sizes are not shareable, but the prices are pretty close to shareable sized prices. The ginger chicken dish was also good, and tasted exactly like we're used to anywhere we go for Thai food across the country. And the noodle dishes and rice were also as expected.
Overall the prices were high and the service was a bit wonky, but we'd go back if craving Thai food in...
Read moreMy family and I visited Thai Season for dinner yesterday evening. When we walked in, we were immediately asked, "Are you here for dinner or dessert?" which should've been an indication from the get-go that the experience wasn't going to be the best. The gentleman who "greeted" us at the door was the same one who waited on us. He seems annoyed and agitated the entire time we were placing our order. He was incredibly unpleasant. We were all drinking water and at one point 4/8 of our cups were empty so my uncle asked for more water. The server stomped away, slammed his tray down, and came back with two pitchers of water and dropped them on the table for us to serve ourselves. He acted so mad the entire time we were there. The food was pretty good but we just didn't enjoy our experience. At the end of the meal, our server dropped our checks and all he said was "Since you're a party of 8, I already put the 18% gratuity so don't leave a tip," and just walked away. We couldn't believe how incredibly rude and inpersonable of a server he was.
I served tables for almost 10 years and had some bad experiences before, but our server seemed more suited for a position as a "bouncer" with his personality. We will never go back to Thai Season again and we will be sure to let our friends know that it's not a place they...
Read moreI took my fiance here for her first taste of Thai food based on positive reviews. We walked in and it looked like a ghost town. We waited for some time before anyone came from the back to greet us and seat us. Looking around I notice that the place is really filthy and so dark you can barely see. I could only see the filth and dirt because it reflected the window light from across the restaurant. Once the waitress finally came to take our order she was very unfriendly and didn't seem to care if we ordered or not. The Chicken Satay was not great but the soups were very good. After the soups everything was greasy and just didn't taste very good. Another reason we visited was to try the rolled ice cream they advertise so heavily but there was a sign on the door that they no longer serve that or the bubble tea. It wasn't a great first experience for my fiancee and I definitely wouldn't come back. I'm very surprised that the rating was so high because that definitely wasn't what we...
