After coming to King's for 3 years, I unfortunately have to reduce my once 5 star rating to a 3 star rating after my most recent visit (12-2-21). My husband and I have loved King's from the first time we went and it was often our main pick for a nice night out together to get sushi. But the most recent experience we had has left me wondering if we'll be back again. I ordered edamame for an appetizer, which came out after I had received my food and half of the edamame was undercooked and hard.We both ordered our favorite rolls, expecting the great sushi we were accustomed to, one of which is the spider roll. All of my rolls were FULL of the crunchy stuff and I didn't even taste the fish, and my husband literally spat out his spider roll and didn't finish it because it tasted off and the crab had a strong flavor that was not normal. We mentioned this to our server, who offered to have another roll made for him, but he was already starting to feel sick so we declined. The service was good, but I wish that could make up for the horrific night that followed, in which my husband found himself wretching over the toilet and I felt sick to my stomach. I have waited a few weeks to leave my review because it really upsets me to have to reduce the rating of a place that I used to love. I know it seems crazy to question whether or not you'll be back after one bad experience, but we're not talking about a server who may have been having a bad day(again, our server was fine), or even just human error, we're talking about food that made us sick. And in an industry where you want to make sure the sushi you eat is reputable, I feel this is of the utmost importance. I feel it's fair to reduce my rating 3 stars after this visit. Because although every other experience has been great, the most recent experience (literally) left a bad taste in...

BEWARE! DO NOT DINE HERE!!! The manager, Laura, and the waitresses are running a theft operation, stealing money from unsuspecting customers and tourists by adding on their own tip to the credit card bill when the customer pays with a card. They are taking extra funds out, small amounts of unauthorized transactions, $5 here, $4 there, etc. Think how much that can add up to when done consistently to every customer in a popular tourist vacation spot with lots of traffic! This happened to my wife and I. The waitress asked if we were local. They are banking on customers like us not being from the area and being unaware that they are known for this and that people won’t check their receipts/ accounts. They’re also banking on the fact that if and when the customer realizes what has happened; the amounts are small enough that the customer will think it insignificant and let it go…My bank notified me of the updated adjustment of extra funds withdrawn for a tip that I did not authorize. I even specified on my receipt the appropriate tip amount with my initials. You do not just decide to pay yourself with my money!!! When I called to have this rectified, the manager exhibited a nasty attitude, lied about it, refused to refund my funds, yelled and slammed the phone on me! This is what gave it away as fraudulent behavior as opposed to a mistake; the fact that you’re upset about my money and that I called you out. It’s not an honest human error because the place was empty during our visit, so the waitress did not get it confused with another ticket. Please do not support these criminals with your hard earned money! King Sushi is trash! I should have read their reviews first, which confirmed that this is their common practice. Almost completely ruined a...

This review is not meant to be demeaning towards the staff (though, our waitress with red highlights could’ve had a better demeanor about her), rather it’s meant to criticize just how bad this place has gotten. I cannot stress how much my fiancee and I have always loved eating here, it was always awesome to have an AYCE style sushi made to order. However, today we found out how bad this location has gotten. To start, as previously stated, the waitress we started with had zero personality, and seemed like she had better things to do than be at work. She couldn’t even get my first order right (I ordered seaweed salad and she brought me Kani salad with my fiancées.) Once the owner? had taken over, the service stayed fine, but the food was not it. This was severely disappointing considering my fiancee has waited her entire pregnancy to eat sushi, and first outing for it since the birth, and it was a let down. Sushi rolls were warm, which would’ve been fine for cooked her one, but not for rolls that are meant to be cold. The fried calamari was atrocious, breading still doughy inside, and the oil used to fry them was obviously old. Same for the chicken katsu, which is my absolute favorite, but it, too, tasted of month old grease. Crab rangoons tasted sour, and they were room temp when brought out to us. We made the manager/s aware of our experience, and they seemed to take it to heart. They did offer ice cream, and gave us a local discount, but unfortunately we won’t be going back. Saturday afternoon, and it was dead. This should’ve been our sign, considering that even in the off season, they’d stay busy. I’m sorry, but this was an absolute let down for us. Hopefully the surfside location is still good, because we love...

My children desperately wanted to try “all you can eat sushi”. Against my better judgment I decided to give in. I read the reviews online, saw some pictures and thought…just maybe it will be good. It was all I could do not to walk straight out after walking in - the sewer smell along with all the hand written notes all over the place was extremely off putting. The pictures online do not look like the restaurant. It has a very “trashy, old, dirty, worn out vibe (bathrooms were plan gross). Once we were seated we were then told to move to other side of the restaurant bc of a leak. Again, me and my husband thought…we should just leave but the kids begged to stay. I saw a picture on the menu of what appeared to be appetizing tuna. I asked the server what it was and she told me the blackened tuna (she then said…it looks nothing like that 🤦🏻‍♀️) we ordered it anyways. I will post picture of the picture on the menu and what we were served. The dumplings were absolutely mass produced frozen dumplings that were fried to taste better. My husband enjoyed his dragon roll and we did eat the tuna and Salmon Nigiri…not great but fine. The edamame was probably the best thing but it’s hard to mess that up. I wouldn’t normally leave a review but this place seems like a complete tourist trap and there photos are huge misrepresentation of the what they serve. When in the area we typically eat at place like Joe’s bar and Grill, Blueberry’s, Boardwalk Billy’s, Crave, Platts Seafood, Bin 2004. If your taste and food preferences are along these lines, don’t eat here.

What a spectacular hidden gem among the foodie options of north Myrtle. We went for lunch actually kind of expecting a self serve buffet which once you’re seated in the restaurant you realize that’s not what this is. You also have no idea what this is going to cost when you see all the unlimited menu items. Our waitress Cassie was an absolute sweetheart explaining the process order as much as you want within reason and please don’t be wasteful. Cost $16.99. You have all kinds of typical Asian appetizer options, a pretty extensive sushi menu and hibachi all for that price. I was honestly floored. And when the food started coming out, I was in food variety heaven. Getting to order all the apps I always want but can usually only get one or 2 for the price I and my stomach was having the time of my life. Kani salad, seaweed salad, Cucumber salad (my fav with a nice vinaigrette seasoning) skipped the soups, edamame was cooked perfectly and lightly salted. Got a sushi roll that was fresh and tasty and consisted of ten pieces! I should have skipped the chicken hibachi but had yo try to stuff it in. The meat is good, tasty rice and freshly crunchy veggies. Easily a $35 meal anywhere else. We left stuffed to the gills and so thrilled to find this place and it’ll definitely be a spot we revisit again. Side note Fries are very basic but onion rings are too notch. At lunch only soda options are served.

We were looking for something new and different to eat in Myrtle Beach and my daughter-in-law told me about Kong’s Sushi. The frontage was inviting, clean and crisp looking. After reading some other reviews we decided to give the place a try even though we have a couple of picky eaters! Our waitress took her time to explain the process of ordering from their all you can eat menus and she was extremely knowledgeable about the menu. The food did not disappoint!!! Food was super tasty, flavorful, colorful, and cake beautifully displayed right to the table!!! We were able to sample sushi we wouldn’t normally have ordered and this was extremely helpful in helping us decide whether or not we liked a certain menu item without being obligated to limit ordering options. Chances are somebody at your table will like the sushi even if you don’t care for it and it won’t be wasted because they encourage sharing!!! They even have ice cream and deserts if you leave room after the all you can stuff yourself with sushi and hibachi!!! Overall, entire experience was literally a 10 out of 10 and I would completely recommend to locals and tourists!!! This will definitely be one of our regular restaurant stops in the future!!!
