At first everything was great. Bought a washer and dryer. My saleslady was wonderful and I organized the delivery. We had to remove my old (dead) washer dryer (easy job there), and then had to have my plumber come out and redo the drain line since the old one was subpar to say the least. OK, all good. For the first few months everything was fine except for the dryer vent popping off regularly. I called under warranty and the fellow clipped it back on for me easily. Awesome. Well, that fix lasted all of 2 weeks and then there it was popping off again. Nothing I did kept it on. Metal clamp that SHOULD hold it? Nope. Zip tie? Nope. Aluminum tape? Nope. As I type this it is currently lying on the floor of my laundry room filling it with hot air. Fabulous. But now for the even better part. I washed my blanket (a full size) shortly after I got the washer. When I came to put it in the dryer there was water on the floor. A check revealed that the spin cycle had water sloshing over the CLOSED washer lid and all over my laundry room floor including onto my belongings. UGH! I put it in the dryer and thought nothing more of it. As time went on I began noticing a bit of bowing in the wall behind the washer. Hmm. But then tonight was the crowning glory. I went to do a few loads. Load one with blankets and a pillowcase: I found a puddle OUTSIDE the laundry room and water on the floor again. Great. I figured more overflow and loaded them in the dryer, then put in the second load. MISTAKE. When I came out again I found even MORE water outside and a larger puddle in the laundry room. A closer look revealed water leaking from under the washer in the rear and soaking the wall behind it as well as seeping under the wall and wetting it to boot. So now I have a soaked and warping wall, water all over the place, and a dryer with a vent sending hot and humid air into the laundry room. And of course none of this is likely under warranty anymore, not that it matters since I probably need my plumber to fix whatever is up with the washing machine. This is absolutely ridiculous. I deliberately went to get a NEW set of units to avoid these problems since I previously bought used ones and had all manner of issues. The new ones have given me more grief in six months than my used ones gave me in a decade AND the used ones cost me a third of what I paid for these. Now I guess I'm going to need to hire a plumber AND an appliance repair guy to come see how many hundreds of dollars more Im going to need to shell out to get these things to work properly for another few months before something else gives out. I'm half tempted to sell them and get one that's used but with my luck I'll probably get another lemon. Oh, and did I forget to mention it's New Year's Eve, so if I call anyone out now it will be triple the cost at best? HA. Good luck if you take the plunge with a...

2/6/20 The exceptional buying experience called "client delight" -- not just that tired, over-used term referred to as "customer service" -- was always the mantra of my three companies. But, frankly, not only is "delight" (that under-promise-and-over-deliver phrase of client commitment) a rare find, but even decent "service" has become difficult to experience in today's companies. In the case of big-box retailers (Home Depot, Lowe's, Best Buy), it's often non existent. So DELIGHT is a major find when found. I've found it and would like to share it with you. I've been continually delighted by FAMOUS TATE and their staff, especially my sales rep., CARLOS PEREZ (of the Oldsmar showroom). They are truly "famous". And here's why.
CASE-ON-POINT: After Carlos reviewed my needs, various washer and dryer pairs were demonstrated; I selected LG. Delivery was made two days later and went smoothly; the installation crew was done in 35 minutes. The washer worked fine but I noticed the dryer was making a thumping noise, noticeably different than any dryer I owned before. I called Tate, spoke to Carlos, and was reassured that a return was possible. Tate wants their customers 100% satisfied. They got a new machine from the warehouse, tried it in the showroom, and found no unusual noise -- we realized then that mine was defective. The new dryer was delivered and installed the next day. Again, everything went as smoothly as before; the switch was seamless.
So far I've been delighted by my washer-dryer purchase; but, let's face it, it's not just about product. We all know products today are designed almost alike and built to self destruct after about seven years -- cars, washers, dryers, lawnmowers, virtually everything. No longer can I buy that GE of 20 years ago that lasted for as many years. Now we've become even more dependent on WHO we buy from. Those that will put your needs as customer first. Truly CUSTOMER DELIGHT.
FAMOUS TATE and CARLOS PEREZ, sales rep., and STEVE DANEMAN, store mgr., of the Oldsmar store -- believe in building solid, long-term customer RELATIONSHIPS. Ultimately, you become part of their customer FAMILY and return for all your appliance needs. And bedding too. And brag about them to family and friends...
Read moreOnce again, Adam at Famous Tate in Oldsmar helped me out with this problem, even though it was not his problem or fault!! This is why I return to Famous Tate rather than the big box stores. They actually care about their customers -- almost impossible to find that kind of ethic today!! The appliance install company still giving me the runaround.
In October of 2022 I purchased a Frigidaire professional cooktop! From the very beginning it did not work. Now, a year and a half later and a new cooktop that still doesn't work the repair place that Frigidaire sent me to -- R&R Applicance, told me to start all over again!! I tried to leave a review of this appliance on Famous Tate website but could figure out how to do it! I spoke to Famous Tate and they told me there was nothing they could do. I don't blame them, but I strongly suggest they no longer carry this product! It has very bad ratings on their website and it's not cheap!! DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES PURCHASE THIS APPLIANCE. And be aware if anything goes wrong during the warranty period Famous Tate can't help you. You are at the mercy of Frigidaire!!
I can't say enough nice things about the manager -- Adam. I had trouble with a six-month -old washer, and he was SO responsive to my problem. He made an exchange for me and swapped my broken appliances with new floor models. Because of supply chain issues, it was impossible to get the new model I wanted so he gave me his floor models and loaded them on a pickup truck and had them delivered to my house in half an hour!! He understood the urgency of being without a washer with a kid in the house!! I was amazed that I received such great customer service! You just don't see that anymore. I always get my appliances at Famous Tate in Oldsmar and now I will add their manager Adam to my list of why I do!! Thank you so...
