The good news about the hotel is that our room was clean and spacious, but not huge, the hotel was quiet, the laundry room was larger and adequately equipped, and the hotel was conveniently located for our purposes.||||Covid restrictions were being observed during our stay. The buffet breakfast was replaced by a "bagged meal" to be eaten in the room, that consisted of a bagel, dry or instant hot-cereal, perhaps flavored yogurt, a small orange juice and coffee from the urn in the reception area. ||||Housekeeping services were not provided. Used towels could be exchanged - except with great difficulty - because the instructions provided by the front desk didn't match the reality. Towels left outside our room on Saturday morning were still there on Sunday when we checked out. Indeed, a bag of garbage left outside the room across the hall on Saturday morning had not been picked up by the time we departed.||||While the laundry room was spacious and well equipped, the explicit instructions from the front desk to use coins, rather than credit cards, created unnecessary problems that we solved (with assistance from the management) using a credit card. Moreover, the front desk personnel were "recommending" a restaurant that was rated 177 out of 279 establishments in Olympia. We, with great satisfaction, enjoyed two delicious dinners at the number one and number three Trip Advisor ranked restaurants. ||||The room design has some fundamental shortcomings. Only the middle section of the closet was easily accessible, and the coat hanger rod was unreachable. The refrigerator door opened from the wrong side making it cumbersome to access while preparing food - our breakfast supplement.||||Finally, my pre-arranged telephone call to the General Manager to discuss my stay has yet to...
Read moreThe Hotel is in a great location, walking distance to downtown and ample parking as well. The Staff is very courteous and helpful. I first have to commend Rebecca Cattnach (Director of Sales), she helped my team and I out with our reservations and also helped in modifying and/or canceling some rooms due to unforeseen circumstances. Next I have to applaud Gabriela Gonzales (GM) and Gilary Rodriguez (Guest Services Rep). When my team and I checked in they where very professional and went out of their way to make our checkin very easy and made us feel at home. They even assisted me with my extra equipment that I had shipped in for work. The Rooms are spacious and I love the little kitchenettes which came in real helpful due to our hours of work and not wanting to go out to eat after a long day. Each room has a range cooktop, microwave, sink, medium size refrigerator, place settings for 4, dishwasher and utensils for cooking... if you're lucking enough you get a small stove with the range. The Beds are very comfortable with plenty of closet and dresser drawers space. The Bathroom are nice, some rooms just have a shower while others have a bath/shower. There is a small complementary Breakfast every morning with hardboiled eggs, cheeses, bagels, toast, waffle iron, oatmeal, dry cereals and fruit. There is always Hot coffee in the lobby.
Pros: Great Location Friendly Staff Clean and comfortable rooms Nice complementary breakfast Easy access to I-5 Nice gym and I love that the washer & Dryers take Credit Card vs coins.
Cons: Microwave above the sink makes it difficult to wash dishes No hooks in the bathroom to hang your towels No small table to eat at if you have more then one person.
Highly recommend this hotel over others...
Read moreI slept on the third floor. The noise in the room was unnerving. I couldn't get a good night's sleep. I spoke to front desk at checkout and she said that I should have called for somebody to take a look at it. I didn't have time to call for a maintenance check or to gather my things and switch rooms as I was gone all day both days and was back to decompress, unwind, and sleep, and recharge for the next day. I was also told that the reason for the noise was because my room (321) was situated under a rooftop HVAC unit so it could get pretty loud. Were ALL other rooms booked out on the days of Jan 7-9? Or was it a system default to place me in ANY open room available? In any case, that particular room is the worst room I've stayed in considering all previous stays at the hotel. This is not what I had in mind when I booked a stay at the hotel. My needs are for a place where I can regroup and recharge from the day's activities and I was unable to do that during my stay. Lastly, front desk lady mentioned that she would "credit my Marriott Rewards account with some points" as if to say that should resolve the issue. First off, I don't have a rewards account with Marriott. But she never bothered to make that connection. Second, I would not sign up for a rewards account simply to collect these points. I didn't have the time or wherewithal to digest what she had said as I was still upset from the overall experience. Looking back, I wouldn't have accepted the offer to resolve the issue. "Some points" feels like a default response and I think more should have been done on her part. Would I stay again? Probably not until I've tried a few other hotels in the area. Would I recommend to others? At this time, that...
