I used to LOVE this splash pad and park but the day this photo was taken there was a bizarre fight/altercation and about 3 (adult) people were bathing and washing their clothes (and shoes) in the water where all the children were playing. I don't know how I feel about that, but I have suggestions for the City: Clean up the damn park. Make it usable for tax paying citizens. Hire a guard or rent a cop to walk the grounds, fix the damn benches (seriously!) and keep the place tidy. Read moreWe love this fountain/splash pad park. It's the best when it's warm & the kids love running around in the water & trying to guess where the water will shoot up next. It has a nice grassy area where you can lay a blanket & relax for a while or even have a picnic. There is some shade provided by some trees. The only issue is that it's right downtown & there are sometimes unsavory characters passing by. I've gotten used to that & have never had any incident, so it's just something to be aware of. The rocks are uncomfortable on bare feet, there often isn't a lot of shade to relax in, and they close the fountain during the hottest parts of the day. Also a lot of kids run and slide on the wet surfaces, which looks fun, but leads to slips and collisions.
