UPDATE: 6/8/24: After writing to the WA State Consumer Protection Office, I received a refund for the dessert portion ( I was refused the coffee that came with the dessert- see review below the ——— lines.)
The owner, Marian Licxandru, responded to the Consumer Protection Office, but never to me directly) I left my contact info with the restaurant and they have my number via their Rewards.) I also told the lady who came out when I got my order that if the restaurant was not going to give me the coffee that I ordered and the receipt literally (again see below) I would contact the Consumer Protection Office and she said “Okay.”
The facts here speak for themselves. “Goes with coffee $0” objectively gives that impression to customers. I am adding my original complaint to the Consumer Protection Office and the owner’s response to this review. They are both public records. In decades of helping customers -and out of the hundreds of reviews I have posted here- this is the wildest response from a manager or owner. I encourage you to read the original complaint and the owner’s response before considering visiting this restaurant.

On Sunday, May 12, 2024, at approximately 5:10 pm PDT, I placed an online order at Pizzeria La Gitana Of Olympia located at 501 Capitol Way S, Olympia WA 98501. Part of my order included the following. Please note that the next line was copied and pasted directly from my online receipt (see photo)
Chocolate Cake $9.00 Add 1x Goes with coffee +$0.00 Add 1x Chocolate Syrup +$0.00 cream and Splenda on the side - (3 creams 2 Splenda)
When I got to the restaurant the waiter, who did not identify himself, told me that he “would have to charge for the coffee” even though it was listed as included with my dessert (the charge on the receipt says $0). I asked for the manager, who also did not identify herself.
The manager told me that I would have to pay for the coffee. I explained that I had a receipt saying it was included with my dessert. She shrugged and said again that she would have to charge me- even after I told her about Washington State’s consumer protection law. I consider this to be a deceptive business practice and that they would be losing a loyal customer.
Additionally, the pizza was cold and burnt. I don’t know what happened to this place between today and when I went in there a couple of weeks ago or so. Rude, deceptive, burnt, and cold pizza. They have gone way downhill in...
Read moreI want to give this restaurant some positives first. I have eaten here several times, and every time the food has been great, the service good and the ambiance cozy and inviting. HOWEVER, last night something went sideways. I brought my granddaughter here for a special dinner, before attending a show in the area. We had a lovely meal, the waitstaff were prompt and courteous. We paid for our meal and a few minutes passed and the person who had waited on us, came to our table and told us we had to leave because another reservation was coming in. There were a ton of tables empty so it seemed perplexing to me that we were being basically kicked out of the restaurant for no apparent reason. We got up to leave and I spoke to who I assume was the manager. She acknowledged that there were plenty of tables but that wasn’t the case an hour before. We had made a reservation online so it wasn’t like we were taking up extra space. We had only been there an hour so we were not lingering in an unreasonable timeframe. It just didn’t make sense. I am almost 70 years old and have never been kicked out of a restaurant before. I could see if they were packed and would have given every consideration if that had been the fact but they weren’t. It was just really bad form on their part. They have a lot to learn about how to treat their customers. It was insulting and brought some negative energy to evening that was supposed to to be filled with fun with my granddaughter. I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else. No one deserves to be...
Read moreFirst off I would like to appreciate the design of this establishment. The plants and low lighting provided an exceptional atmosphere. However, that is the only statement of praise this "pizzeria" will be receiving. Dining in on a Monday evening, there was no one to greet us when we walked in. We waited for about 7 minutes before being acknowledged by any staff. Dirty tables galore. Likely due to poor management not scheduling enough employees to work during week days. Once seated I noticed how painfully small the table for two was. On top of being small, the table was crowded with everything but a shaker of parmesan. We ordered drinks, the basil martini and the peach bellini. Martini- poor ratio which made the gin taste like licking an evergreen tree. Bellini- very sweet but no complaints. Espresso martini- extremely over powering and far too sweet. I had been intrigued by the pesto dishes but had to settle for what we got due to nut allergies. (this was not mentioned on the menu) The pasta tasted like gnawing on anIkeaa end table due to the offensive misuse of blue cheese. This was promptly returned to the kitchen. The Pizza had a residue of sauce, nothing to write home about. Could have had better quality for a fraction of the price from Mod Pizza. The only sauce options were pesto or marinara. No alfredo. All in all, this was a terrible dining experience for $67. Save your money, and go to Mod...
