Update in response to manager's reply:
"We will always ask for a method of payment at breakfast as not all the rooms come with breakfast. I am sorry if it was done in an impolite way, or we did not make our intent clear."
The only thing I mentioned about breakfast was to watch the toaster because it burns the toast (I did overhear one of the attendants mention that the toaster always burns the toast so maybe it needs to be repaired or replaced). No one was impolite to us and I did not make a comment on the method of payment so I don't know what the intent of the reply was.
"The renovation will indeed include all the showers, tile and grout, as well as some misplaced shower doors. We cannot wait! All that said, is there some way I can make it up to you for the disappointments in your stay?"
Good to hear that the showers will be renovated; I'm not sure how it can be made up to us as this is in the past and we don't have any plans to visit Olympia, WA in the near future.

We were quite disappointed with the condition of the hotel. We stayed here before in 2019 and had a great experience so we're looking forward to our stay again. While the bed was comfortable, the pillows are very flimsy and non supportive. I hate to leave negative reviews, but the shower was horrible! The grout had mold everywhere and the shower head has only 3 spray options. One where the spray was so wide you felt like you were using a water pic to rinse off with. The other 2 were so narrow and sprayed so hard it hurt. Plus it's so high up, it's difficult to reach. You also only get 2 towels, 2 hand towels, and 2 wash clothes - other Hilton hotels usually have 4 each. The sofa in the room made so much noise when you sat down on it. I needed to use the computer in the 'business center' (basically 2 PCs sitting on a table in the lobby) and neither of them worked. The desk clerk rebooted them, but they both froze up again in less than a minute. Breakfast was ok, but the toaster burns the bread so you have to keep a close watch on it. We loved the location of this hotel, but for the money, we will be looking to stay at a Hampton Inn in the future. I do want to mention that they began a renovation while we stayed there. We were on the 4th floor and they blocked off half the floor to work on it while we were in the other half. It looked like they were removing the wall paper and carpeting from the hallway; I just hope they're planning on updating the...
Read moreAs a Hilton Diamond Member I have only written positive reviews. However, I must write a negative review for the rude, dishonest and disrespectful service rendered by Raven, a front desk receptionist at the Doubletree Hotel in Olympia WA. I have stayed at this location several times, each time receiving a copy of my receipt upon checking out except the three times I have encountered Raven. She is always rude, dishonest and disrespectful. Each time I request for a copy of my receipt when I check out with Raven she always says she cannot print a copy because it will take ten minutes to copy and it will freeze the system. I have been a Diamond Member for ten years and each time I ask for a larger room upgrade if available, Raven’s reply is always rude and abrupt, stating no larger room we’re available despite the census was low. I later found out from housekeeping that was false. The ultimate disrespect occurred when I handed Raven my room key and asked her to reset it because it would not allow me to enter my room. ||Raven rudely tossed my room to me and told me to wait my turn. She continued to talk to a young man. I waited while she engaged in a personal conversation. After Raven finished talking she gave me another room key. I took the key and unfortunately, it still did not work. When I discussed with Raven how she rudely tossed the room key surprisingly Raven she was not apologetic. ||I later encountered the young man who Raven was talking to. He asked me why Raven had been rude to me. I am truly disappointed. I am posting this review because I hope management will review my comment and will make some necessary adjustments. I sincerely hope that no one else encounters Raven’s rude, and...

We decided to come down to Olympia for the weekend and stayed here at the DoubleTree in the Historic District.
We chose this particular Hilton over the one south, because we wanted walking access to the old town, the capital, and the waterfront. In that regard, the location was stellar. Plenty of parks to walk to, activities to engage in (arcades, stores and the permanent farmers market), and good food to partake of. Would absolutely pick this hotel again for the location alone. Why not 5 stars for the location then? Cause the parking lot is small, and I could see it absolutely impossible to park in the busy season; and the view of the nearby area is mehhhh... Lot of taller buildings in the way. Not really their fault, but worth noting.
The inside of the hotel is fine. Fine. It's neither the most elegant nor the most run down. The rooms are, again, fine. They aren't bougie luxury by any stretch, but we had the single King room with couch, and it had good sized space with the standard hotel amenities. The bathroom left something to be desired... As it was just kinda a basic small shower. The decor was also dated and bare bones. Nothing terrible, nothing great - fine.
Lastly, the service was stellar. The people were always helpful, kind, and friendly. Plenty of cookies up front too! The hotel restaurant was also really good for breakfast, with a standard hotel buffet meal, but at a really great price considering where we are at.
Overall , solid 4 stars here. Great location, fine enough rooms, and impeccable staff. I'd...
