I am a female veteran who was homeless and the salvation army put me up on this place for a month so that I can look for an apartment. As soon as I walked into the room it smells like mold, the vent for the AC looks like it has never been changed and is clogged with dust and actually has holes in it from disintegrating from the dust and water being on it so long. The mini fridge leaks and is constantly thawing out all items inside it leaving a huge puddle in the bottom. The final blow was tonight, after 2 1/2 weeks here, I felt something crawling on me while laying in bed. Yes....it was.....a bed bug!!! I then stripped both beds and found 4 bed bugs, that I could see and take photos of. Also while pulling the bed apart, I pulled the mattress away from the wall and discovered old chocolate cake wrappers that may have been there for a very long time by the looks of the grease stain underneath. The linens under the mattress are full of hair, dirt, fluids of some sort, and you can tell the housekeeping does an absolute minimal job when it comes to changing linens because almost every pillow case is dirty and smells like it hasn't been washed in weeks if not months. When I called the front desk at 2 am, I was told there are no other rooms to move me into and I will have to wait until the 8am shift comes in to see who is leaving, so that I can switch rooms. Therefore, I am being forced to stay in a disgusting, moldy, bed bug filled room. I do not and will not ever recommend this hotel to anyone I know, and I will definitely let the VA and Salvation Army know about this so that at least no other Veteran has to endure this. If I had anywhere else to go, even a car, I would be out of here, but unfortunately I don't have that luxury. Although, I AM tempted to go sleep on the lawn chairs...
Read moreDo not book here. Please read.. We checked in and paid for two nights for a work event during the 2023 Rolex 24 Hours At Daytona race.
On the second night we got to our room at about 12:PM after a long day of work and found that our room was locked, (and later learned it had been given to someone else).
When we asked at the front desk the clerk was extremely aggressive, said that we only had paid for one night, and that we had to leave. Repeating we had to leave a few times while cutting us off mid sentence.
We stopped him and showed him our booking for two nights and he slammed his hand on the table then got even angrier.
We then asked for what happened to our bags, he said he didn’t know, we asked again and asked for him to maybe check around, once he finally did he found our bags.
He then complained that he had to find us a different hotel room, after some time he said he was only able to find us a smoking room, and as it turns out it was in a really worse part of town. The new room looked like a crime scene and had mold, cigarette burns and dirty hand prints and hair everywhere.
The entire ordeal took us about another hour and 45 minutes from an already long and tedious work day.
Once we got back from our trip we noticed we are both missing jackets and chargers from our bags.
I know Daytona isn’t high end, and any service is hard to come by, but we were two guys there for work and could barely stomach the issues, so I can’t imagine this happening to my wife, older family members or a family with kids.
Please do anything possible to not stay here. This hotel is very very bad, but it’s nothing compared to where they will send you if they...
Read moreUnfortunately, my boyfriend wanted to save a couple of bucks. So, I ended up at this Choice Hotel. I would have gladly paid the extra $20, to stay at another, higher rated establishment! Anyway, they shouldn't be charging so much for this one!? The place is outdated, but the room appeared clean and their pool looked refreshing. Our room door was difficult to open, like we had to push it forcibly, each time we'd reenter, the usual loud, old A/C, the bathroom is so small that you can't even close the door without getting behind it first, and the King sized bed was so hard and uncomfortable!! Both of us woke up with severely aching backs! (It took all day until we felt better.) The free food was a normal Continental Breakfast with a warm tasteless waffle, if you prefer. I enjoyed eating toast with jam and the Frosted Flakes took me back to my childhood. FYI: Although, they weren't directly responsible for the incident, their response was negligent. A transformer blew out and we lost power completely, on our last morning. The noise awoke us around 6 a.m., it stayed off until we checked out early, at 9 a.m., but since they don't have the required and needed back-up generators to handle the entire motel! We were unable to see in the bathroom, so freshening up was useless. We got dressed in the dark, since opening the curtains wasn't an option, not to mention, no tv or working air conditioner. Sadly, I do not recommend staying at this place. (Remember, looks...
