I do reviews as they pop on my phone. I only give honest feedback as it helps others. Unfortunately, in this case, it happened before I left this property. My feedback on the hotel includes:

Location. Absolutely awesome.

Room. Clean but has in-window air-conditioning which is ridiculously loud. Also, no light in the closet that makes it hard to see your clothes. The rooms are also up the steepest of steep staircases (no elevator).

Service. This is the main problem and why I would not go back to this property.

First, we were in our room when we heard the door open and found that another couple had opened our door thinking it was their room. That is a safety concern.

Second, they only give you one key. I asked the manager another key and she said it would be $2. I have stayed in many hotels and I've never heard of such a charge. I asked if she could just charge me if I don't return the key and she said no.

These two items about the Service were the basis for my original 3 rating on service.

However, the manager (Priscilla?) apparently read my review and proceeded to harass me and my wife during the remainder of our stay to take it down. She made it incredibly uncomfortable and stressful where we contemplated moving to another hotel. We were very busy and decided we'd just tough it out another day.

We came back the last night after a late dinner to find our room locked. No staff is onsite after 7pm or 8pm. I called a hotline number and the operator directed me to get a key from under the front desk phone. I was shocked to discover this was the master key, meaning I could open every door in the hotel. Again, another absurd safety problem that is probably against some type of code. When we got into the room, strangely, our internet and TV did not work.

We left early the next morning. I received a call while in a business meeting later that day and, sure enough, it was Priscilla the GM. I told her I couldn't talk right now but could speak with her later. She then became angry and demanded I speak with her at that time. She was very aggressive and I had to hang up.

In the strange response she wrote on the Google review she said they upgrades us, etc., and didn't deserve the review. There was no upgrade or it was done without our knowledge.

I felt bad leaving a three for service as I didn't want it to impact the people who cleaned the room. They did a great job and left us very nice notes everyday.

Did the GM lock us out of the room and cut off our internet and TV intentionally? I can't say for certain. The safety issue and especially the harassment by the GM for me is absolutely intolerable. This is why I updated my review on service to a 1.

P.S. No upgrades were asked for or given. Suggesting otherwise is untrue. Also, this rogue manager is doxxing me here in her patently false response. This is beyond disturbing and an obvious attempt to have me delete my 100% truthful review. It is not being deleted and will now...

Sorry but no. I had a significant lapse of judgment in booking our stay at the Palm Beach Historic Inn. I thought this would be a quaint alternative to the high luxury of the Breakers for our first anniversary. The hotel might have been decent in the 1920s but now it is in need of renovation, demolition or condo conversion. The walls are paper thin. You hear full conversations from hallway to rooms and visa versa. Everytime a door shuts, it sounds like yours. Bring earplugs. There is no central air and while the window unit kept us comfortable, it was at the cost of not hearing each other speak (though not loud enough to drown out the noise from the hallway and the other rooms). Our room was very clean and very modest. 1970s bamboo-style roll-shades were mounted over the window. Bring eyeshades. The room was very small and the bathroom old and plain. There was nothing to soften the chalky, white walls of the box-shaped bedroom; nothing historic, nothing quaint or cozy. A cheap ceiling fan with flourescent bulbs hung over our plain but comfortsble king-sized bed. Outside, a sign portrays the Inn as a bed & breakfast. This is not accurate. Neither the bedrooms nor the cold, continental breakfast qualify. They have no valet and no parking! I was told to fend for myself to find a spot. But wait, there’s more ... The Inn is about 50 feet from the fire station and about 100 feet from the police department. Pray there are no sirens in the middle of the night. I really thought this would be a cute little B&B experience surrounded by all the Island has to offer but I was wrong. Mea culpa. Get this. I paid 320 for this place. We left and happily slept in our own beds. I do have to send an apologetic shout-out to Anthony who seemed to manage the place. He was gracious and...

I have done a fair amount of traveling over the past few years and this hotel was easily among my favorites. First and foremost - this hotel was one, easy-peasy block from the beach. A good beach, that was never crowded during our April stay. Our room was super cozy and homey. Housekeeping was good, while not being invasive (a serious compliment, in my opinion). The free breakfast wasn't anything special, but I never like hotel breakfast anyway. The coffee was good (and super hot). There were snacks, water bottles, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, and beach towels available all the time. The staff was super chill! Everyone was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Unless you play golf or like to buy super expensive stuff, Palm Beach sucks (except the beach, of course, and Pastry Heaven), but the City of West Palm Beach (City Plaza and Clematis Street) was a long walk or a cheap Uber ride away. We noticed other tourists stayed in West Palm Beach and walked to the beach, but we recommend staying in Palm Beach for an easier walk to the beach and a longer walk to the city. Finally, for those of you who care as much as I do: this hotel had the best hotel toiletries ever. I have long, coarse, thick hair and I can't deal with this 2-in-1, barely lathers conditioning shampoo lie. This hotel had great shampoo, separate conditioner, soap, lotion, etc. and it was all GOOD. We would definitely stay here again.

We had zero issues with noise or light from other rooms or the street. The air conditioner blocked all that out and...

Wow! We absolutely loved this Inn & will be coming back! The check in was very easy & Stephanie at the front desk was always so pleasant. There is a large area in the lobby full of snacks, water, etc. that you can help yourself to. There are also beach chairs, umbrellas, and beach towels for free rental for the beach! The beach is very walkable and is absolutely gorgeous, and there are lots of restaurants & shops nearby. We had a car and it was very easy to find free parking on the street overnight & metered parking at the beach in the morning. The Inn is so cute & cozy and very clean. The bathrooms are a little outdated, but wasn’t a bother to us since the place is so well kept. There was a large walk in closet in our room. There is a fridge and small desk, too. The bed & pillows were comfy. We don’t have a single negative thing to say! Thank you for an amazing stay! :)

We had a beautiful stay here for our 1 year anniversary. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Our room was very cozy and clean. There was a fridge in suite along with extra toiletry items. It’s a close walk to the beach and beach chairs are provided which is a cute addition. There are an unlimited amount of snacks, water, soda, juice, fruit, yogurt and tea available during your stay downstairs in the lobby. There are lunch of restaurants and small boutiques near by too. Note: hang out by the outdoor patio area. It’s a beautiful oasis.
