I will say that I booked Bahama Breeze 3 months before our stay but that wasn’t early enough due to Gulf Coast Jams so everywhere was expensive and had no vacancies. You get what you pay for with this place.
When we arrive it was a cute vintage beachy suite and the room was cute. THEN we got hit with a poop smell. We walked to the restroom and it’s a mildew poop smell that doesn’t go away. We thought it was the rusty toilet bowl brush that had water at the bottom so my husband took it out of the room. That didn’t help. I think when they renovated the place they didn’t change/update the plumbing fixtures into the restroom so it just smells bad!!! It’s not terrible if you keep the door shut but it’s real bad when you open the door.
There is not a daily room service and they only provide two towels to which we didn’t see when we arrived so we went and bought bath towels. Along with buying toilet paper since there was only two and very thin. There is absolutely NO handsoap so bring some if you want to wash your hands. We brought our own pillows and blanket so we slept on top of the comforter on the bed. There is a trash can that is outside our door that was never taken out our entire stay of 5 days which was over filled and flies all over it. The pool is nice but there was algae growing on the sides. Room 103 for reference so the stinky plumbing fixtures can get updated.
We enjoyed our stay and got over the restroom and other minor things due to not spending much time in the room.
Pros: super close to the beach, great location to restaurants and other activities. Quiet place. Good price.
Not saying not to stay here because we did for the most part enjoy our time but wanted to give future vacationers and the owners a real review. Hopefully the cons of this place is fixed...
Read moreGot rooms here based on high Google reviews and lower price for the area. I would highly advise you to just pay a few extra bucks and stay at one of the many other decent hotels nearby. Communication was slow, my hotel door was open when I got there and the smart lock didn't work. I called the main number and was connected with a customer service rep who sounded like they were working from home in another country. I will say that they were nice and helpful, though there was some confusion about my smart lock and the physical key lock box which I was directed to. Though the single deadbolt didn't provide much security, the other guests seemed decent and the room was clean and well-appointed. Think low-cost Airbnb to give you an idea. There was so much sand on the floor that it was annoying, I know it's near the beach but it's not ON the beach. For checkout I locked up the room and locked the key in the physical lockbox, and verified it with the owners, no problems there. Overall I'd say it's not nearly worth the trouble to stay here just to save a little money. They'd need to have someone helping on-site plus drop the nightly rate by about half for me to stay...
Read moreI’m a little scared to write this review as I’m worried my debit may be charged again! Owner over charged me on my bank account and said the first charge was just a “suggestion” so they took out more money out!! I never could see an itemized bill of the fees (even though I asked) but I did get refunded pretty quickly.
The place is trashed and dirty. I couldn’t enjoy my stay due to trash everywhere. Fire pit was full of trash, parking lot was full, everywhere I went there was trash. I couldn’t even walk down the side walks without avoiding people’s trash
There is no one on-sight controlling this as far as I can tell.
Room was dirty. My mattress had a pee stain. The curtains need washed due to food on them.
We had no towels for the first 24 hours. Owner kept telling me cleaners brought them but they didn't. They eventually instacarted some over.
It was not an enjoyable stay but you get what you pay for, I guess. Other reviews and pictures were deceiving.
Pros: quiet, cold air conditioner, comfy beds (though...
