When we walked into the lobby to register, the first thing we noticed were 3 coffee thermous containers that were absolutely filthy. The table they were sitting on was filthy as well. When we attempted to check check in, our first credit card was declined three times, even though it was the one we used to make the reservation through Choice Hotels, so we had to use another card. I used the declined card an hour later to order food, and there was no problem. I checked with the company that issued the card that was declined, and it turned out that the CCV number was entered incorrecly somewhere in the reservation/check in process. When we finally got to our room (Room 513), the first thing we noticed was a foul, moldy odor that appeared to be coming from the air conditioner. The carpet in the room was filthy, and it stunk. The chair in the room for relaxing had several stains on it. The most noticeable stain was on the seat cushion. When we pull the seat cushion up, it had even stained the fabric below. It looked as if someone had urinated ot worse on the cushion, and it had soaked through to the rest of the chair. The bathroom sink was almost unusable. There was no aerator on the faucet, so most of the water went all over the counter. This made getting a drink of water or washing hands very difficult. The wallpaper was beginning to peal off of the wall. It looks as though an attempt was made to repair several cracks in the ceiling. However it was some of the shoddiest workmanship we have ever seen. We have stayed in Comfort Inns before, including one in Baltimore near Johns Hopkins Hospital, and were were happy with the accomodations there. When I spoke to the mangement about the condition of the room, they did agree to move us to another room (Room 530) which was somewhat better than the first one. The hallways were uncomfortably warm leading to the new room, and they smelled as if the carpet hadn't been cleaned in some time. The elevators were uncomfortably warm and the floors were dirty and sticky. We chose this location because it was near a hospital a loved one was in that we wanted to visit. There was a lot of yelling and screaming in the hotel, including customers toward management at the front desk. When we attempted to check out, we had to exit the hotel out of fear for our safety due to an irate customer screaming at the desk clerk. Security should have been called and the customer should have been removed. At this point in time, we do not intend to stay in this hotel again, and we certainly won't recommend it to anyone else. In summary, this particular location does not live up the the standards Comfort Inn is known for. We would be glad to speak to anyone else from your company regarding our stay if you feel it would be helpful to addressing the conditions...
Read moreIt was the worst stay at any hotel/motel. The mattress was stained and if I could I'd upload the photo. ||Background: Needed a room for one-night and selected the location because of price. Upon entering the room, I notice a strong odor and proceeded to investigate. I pull back the blanket, linen, and mattress pad to see a sickening stain. Return to the desk clerk to request another room. She asked what was wrong and I relayed to her that I pulled back the bed covering and showed picture.||Her response was you shouldn't have pulled back the bedding. I asked for another room and she stated that it was most likely that I would find another stain, if I plan to pull back the covering. Shocking! I tried to encourage her to get me another room and challenged her with this question. "Would you sleep on that mattress?" She avoided answering and finally relented and stated No, she would not. ||Her resolution was that I could go to another hotel. Honestly, I was traveling by train and using car services to travel. Just get a room at another hotel would be an additional inconvenience. Nevertheless, I left the request that I would like to look at another room. I sat in the waiting area and just gave up because I was being ignored.||Finally, I accepted the room because my choice was limited. I had to flip the mattress myself and still observed stains on the other side. Substantially smaller, but still stained. Purchased a set of sheets and slept in my clothes for the night. ||My observation is that the hotel caters to individual that are on the margins and need lodging because of unfavorable financial standing. The staff gave the impression that if you don't like it you can leave. Point - "If you pull back the bed-covering in the next room you will find another stain." The owner/management are running a location and just looking to profit. There is no incentive to properly clean the facility or give a reasonable individual a clean and safe place to lodge. Failure to provide a good customer experience. ||I stayed at the location April 26 and checked out April 27. Oh the complementary breakfast was another example of substandard service. I strongly encourage your corporate office conduct an inspection of the location at Comfort Inn Baltimore East, 8801 Loch Raven Blvd, Towson, MD. ||The whole experience made my skin crawl. Your desk clerk is one of the worst kind of people in a position where customers interaction...
Read moreI wish I could give this 0 stars. Unfortunately this was the worst hotel experience I’ve had. I rarely ever write reviews on here but I had a music competition at Towson university the next day. When I got in my room there was hair in the bed and these bugs with antennas. I called the front desk to bring this to their attention and they gave me a new room.. fine. I went to my new room and as I was settling and it was a little better but then I noticed again two of the same bugs. I called the front desk asking what was going on and why I’m finding these bugs everywhere, and apparently they have an infestation through the air vents and there’s nothing that they can do. That’s not comforting to know. I also needed an extra towel and called the front desk about it and they said they had no towels. I was pretty shocked as hotels should have extra stuff on hand, right???? Finally after 2 1/2 hours of me calling, they gave me an extra towel. I went to bed at 12 because I had an early morning the next day and there were guests outside in the hallways that were talking so loud, slamming doors, partying and yelling. I was too scared to go outside to tell them to stop because I’m not from this country, so I called the front desk three times. The first time the front desk said he’d send someone up, second time he said the same thing. Third time we’re getting at 4 AM now and I was begging him please can you do something because it is so loud and I can’t sleep… and he just stayed silent on the phone and didn’t respond to me. This hotel is a dive, and it’s disgusting. It’s clearly not properly cleaned, there are bugs everywhere, there’s mould in some places I saw in the room. The pictures on any website are lying and unfortunately I did not get a good sleep for my competition the next day. I’ve never had a hotel experience like this where the staff just did not care. I’ll be calling Comfort Inn offices to complain and hopefully I can get my money back. I was supposed to stay another night, but checked out early because of how horrible it was. I also found a total of 5 bugs…..
I told front desk about my stay and they really don’t care. It’s clear the workers gave up. I’m really surprised because comfort inn hotels are usually good but I guess not...
