* The hotel's interior is a completely different experience than the exterior. While the exterior gives you hope, entry into in the interior removes that hope. Details matter - like cleaning up dust and trash from corners, having a fresh paint job since the turn of the century, or having the plastic placard at the entry desk not being broken. But those details don't matter to this hotel. * Upon entering, we were greeted with another guest asking for 2 extra sets of sheets to cover his room's dirty couch. His wife/gf/whatever refused to sit on the couch unless it could be covered up. The employee would only give him one. * The employee was not pleasant or courteous upon check in. He wasn't rude, either, just ambivalent to our presence. * The walk to our room did not fill us with positive feelings - hallways were dirty, had food crumbs throughout, smelled dank and stale, the carpeting was fairly new, but stained pretty much anywhere you looked. Gives you a bit of insight into the quality of people who stay here, and how well the staff maintains it. * Upon entering our room, the room was better than expected based on the walk TO the room. It was cool, and had had housekeeping make at least a passable attempt to prep it for our stay. * The AC was set on 62, which may have been because we were visiting during a heat wave, but it worked, so that was important. * The smell of the room was strong with some kind of freshener - Febreeze or similar * Upon pulling out the desk chair to sit, it was COVERED in stains - the human kind, not the spill kind. The kind you definitely don't want to investigate with a blacklight. That chair was not utilized ONCE during our stay. Guessing a lot of single men stay here and that's their spot where they do their business while browsing certain websites. * The drains (sink and tub) both drained very slowly. * The windows are thin - passing any outside sound like it's in your room. That's extra special because the road outside is apparently the local gathering point for drag strip races in the overnight hours. Follow those sounds with police sirens about an hour later ... you get the idea. * On the positive side, there were no airport sounds in the room, despite the proximity to the airport. * There is no breakfast, and there was no mention of wifi for us I'm a Wyndham member and exclusively stay at Wyndham hotels. This one does not set a good standard or impression for the brand. If all you need is a bed outside of the rain, this will do it. But if you want a full night's sleep, to trust that you won't get some STD from sitting on the chair in your room, or a place where the staff cares about the facility ... keep looking. Believe the reviews you read here.

** There are 2 Microtel Wyndham by the Airport - book the hotel on Ridley Park - Huge Difference ** We drove 10hrs for a competition and booked this hotel as the team booked here....turns out I booked the wrong location. This hotel is close to the airport so that is a bonus if you are looking for airport proximity....this is where the pros end. We arrived to check in to walk down the hall on the 2nd floor to smell likely 10 cans of cheap air freshener circulating to cover up the smell of smoke and pot. Our room was damp and musty and more air freshener cover up. We turned on the air conditioner thinking that would resolve the issue and left for the Ruby Tuesday Restaurant behind the Hampton Inn (right beside us where we should have booked). 3 hrs later, we returned to the same air freshener sprayed hallway and the room was just as strong and gave us a headache. Front desk moved us to the first floor which was not fragrance filled but we still smelled smoke from the adjacent rooms. Our room was still musty and not clean: carpet was in need of a deep clean, stains on the stucco ceiling and walls, no microwave and fridge which we assumed are standard in every hotel, rust and mildew in the bathroom, grass was found on the chair from previous guest, outlet did not work, side door was unlocked and opens without a key card access, TV did not work. There are no amenities nearby. We checked for bed bugs and it seemed clear. If it wasn't for the 10hr drive, we would have left for the Hampton Inn Next door. So....basic enough to survive the night but will definitely not book here again. We never heard of the Microtel chain but it will definitely not be on our list to book. Front desk was not courteous at check-in but was more attentive when we reported the foul smells. He said "they spray every room after they clean it". I told him a clean room should not need spray". There were automatic air fresheners in the halls every 20-25 feet spraying more chemicals....this is not good or healthy. So book the Hampton Inn across the lot or the Microtel on Ridley.

This place doesn't even deserve one star. This was the most disgusting hotel i have ever stayed in. We had to stay here not by choice but because the airline that canceled our flight home paid for it. We took a shuttle from the airport and as the driver dropped someone off at a terminal he literally asked the person where his tip was by moving his fingers in a money gesture. Arrival at the hotel I saw many red flags, first the floors were filthy, there was a bucket capturing dripping water from the ceiling, one of the A/C units in the lobby had tape and zip ties wrapped around the tubing coming out of ceiling. Our first room assigned had an annoying piercing alarm sound that was constant. Not even maintenance knew what it was or where it was coming from. Our next room smelled good but the bathroom was disgusting. Looked as if it was never cleaned ever. The walls had soap scum and you could just tell they never wiped it. The bathtub had a dark ring around it and there was hair literally everywhere! I asked for them to send housekeeping to clean it and the housekeeper was picking up the hairs with tissue. I had to ask her to clean it with bathroom cleaner, i couldn't believe she was doing that. This place just looks so worn down and dirty that you can just tell whoever owns this place is only trying to get as much money out of it as they can rather than investing in good housekeepers and the keeping up with the upkeep of the place. Its just a horrible place and they should just be ashamed to have a place like this.

I had the misfortune to book this place last Monday and Tuesday night (March 17 and 18, 2025) What is wrong you ask?

  1. First night, I notice the television remote doesn't work. I can use the remote control to turn the TV on and off, but selection of channels was not possible - it was stuck on LIFETIME. I went to the desk, they gave me a different controller that also did not work.
  2. First morning, promised a "hot hearty breakfast", in real life I just wanted coffee. I mean, what's so hard about coffee? Well the coffee machine had a large yellow sign with black letters proclaiming OUT OF ORDER. They had the time and energy to get a sign printed but not fix the coffee maker? I had to walk to the nearby gas station to get coffee! Next to the steel container marked EGGS is a container marked POTATOES, which contains cold tater tots.
  3. Same day, I used the free hotel shuttle van to get to the train station at the airport. After a long day of walking around Philly (perfect weather!) I go back to the airport, go through a lengthy phone tree to finally connect with the front desk to get a ride home. No problem! After waiting a while the hotel shuttle/van shows up. I get in, the driver at no point checks to see if I'm wearing a seatbelt, which became relevant as he pulled away from the curb and went on the onramp to interstate 95 - the door flew open! The driver had no **s to give about that - either he didn't notice the wide open door while driving w/passenger down the interstate or he didn't care. I had to use all my old-man strength to get the door mostly closed to I could keep it mostly shut. If I had not been wearing my seatbelt I would have been scattered across I95.
  4. TV STILL doesn't work. I go to the front desk and they explain that the remote won't work if you point it at the TV. You have to stand by the TV and stick your hand behind the TV to use the remote. You know, part of REMOTE CONTROL is the word REMOTE. I'm not very remote if I have to stand next to the TV!
  5. 2nd and final morning - COFFEE MAKER STILL DOESN'T WORK. The cold tater tots have been replaced with a sign that says "TURKEY SAUSAGE" in front of an empty container. This was 90 minutes before the "hot hearty breakfast" time would end.
  6. So at 10:10 I am packed. I go by the front desk, I give my key to the nice lady running the front desk. I tell her I'm checking out (my checkout time is 11:00AM). She asks my room number, which I give and we clarify which room it was. I think I'm done but OH NO - I get a message at 3PM that I have to pay and extra $50 for VERY LATE CHECKOUT, when in real life I'd checked out...
