This is an interesting motel to review. It’s a throwback to earlier days. My wife and I both liked it. It reminded us of places we would stay a long time ago when first married. We had intended to stop in Rock Springs but it was a little early to stop. We found Rivera on the internet an hour+ further north, called and reserved. The room was small, but not cramped. The space was well designed - built in 1952. An old time motor hotel. The beds are queen size because a king would not fit into the bed space and leave room at the sides. It is owned and run by Emi. She does a good job. Emi keeps the place in good repair and she makes a good breakfast - an egg casserole/quiche, pastries, fresh fruit, coffee. One complaint. The coffee was just warm. Find a way to keep the coffee hot. No one in that part of WY seems to understand that. We would stay at Emi’s Rivera B&B again if we were anywhere near. The 3 star rating for the room is an honest, not inflated, rating; rather than the usual inflated Google rating. 3 stars means good enough to keep our future business. About Pinedale: the population is about 2000. The welcome sign driving in states “All the civilization you need.” Clever and perhaps true. I would say that all the Pinedaleans I came in contact with were good people - Emi at the Rivera, the guy at the Ace hardware across the street who helped me repair a safety chain on my trailer, and a local at a gas station who saw me searching for a tire stem cap I had dropped, walked over to help and found it. As I drove on my way north I was thinking, I should find a way to spend some time...
Read moreThe Rivera was not initially on my radar as I was looking at other places, only going by traveler rankings. Other places were full and that’s what began my research into The Rivera. I have to say I was highly impressed with the Rivera. From the moment we arrived, Emi took care of us. She showed us to cabin number 10. It may be small, but it had all the comforts of home. The bed was so warm and so comfy. It was hard to get up in the mornings! Emi serves the perfect coffee and breakfasts. She is a wealth of information about traveling and exploring the area. We initially chose two nights here as we were acclimating to the area before our Cirque of the Towers backpacking hike. Due to being so relaxed, we added on an extra night. We loved visiting with Emi and other guests, especially at the family breakfast table. The other visitors had been to her place multiple times in the past , which says so much about her friendliness. I would highly recommend skipping other places in town, and reserving this place. Save us a spot for next year! -Matt and...
Read moreWe came to Pinedale for our anniversary and wanted to stay somewhere that was not a chain hotel so we picked this little lodge. Our room was small, cabin 10 but fine for us as we were out sightseeing all day so we did not spend much time indoors. The back patio was pleasant in the evening as we relaxed in the chairs and listened to the sound of the creek. The room is well stocked with mini fridge, some dishes, small coffee pot, hair dryer and small sitting area. I loved the homemade soap in the shower. Plenty of storage for clothing, shoes and lots of hangers! We did put our empty suitcases back in the car to save space. Breakfast is served in the morning from 0700 to 0800 with fresh fruit, eggs, yogurt and some types of breakfast casserol, French toast casserole, juice and coffee. Emi is a great host and makes wonderful ginger snap cookies and the first bag included at check in! Made us want to move...
