I cannot say enough great things about the Embassy Suites by Hilton Portland Maine, especially when it comes to their staff. We recently held a weekend long conference in their conference room and attendees stayed at the hotel. The food was phenomenal and complimented by many of our attendees. There were a lot of options, everything was fresh, and you could tell time and care went into making the food. The rooms were very nice, clean, and spacious. The lobby is beautiful, open, and has a lot of nice natural sunlight. The cocktail hour was an added bonus that really allows hotel guests to mingle and enjoy the beautiful lobby. But the standout was the staff. From the moment I walked in, the front desk staff was friendly, and eager to help. I immediately felt at home with Rosemarie, who never hesitated to answer my questions. Jeanie, Jolene, Yulia, and Hannah (hopefully I spelled those all correctly!) were there for our group throughout the conference and quickly became friends with all of us. Not only did they go above and beyond to help us with any needs we had, but they were friendly and fun the whole time. I cannot thank them enough for all of the support they provided for us. I can easily say that this has been the best experience I've had not only at a hotel, but an event space in general. I can't recommend this place enough - and I hope to come back! They made our trip worth every penny! Thank you again to the staff!

If you don't have a problem with light coming in the morning, then you will love this hotel. So ignore the rest of this review: PROS 1) World-class front desk - extremely nice, smart and fast 2) World-class breakfast - it doesn't get better than this 3) Spacious parking lot - plenty of room 4) Lovely trees surround entire hotel CONS: 1) TOO MUCH LIGHT coming in. SEE PICTURE. This is the fault of management. They could easily put up better dark curtains. This is why I can't stay at Embassy Suites any further. It's like Hilton has given up on this brand to focus on Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites. I've stay at multiple Embassy Suites and they're all terrible: Old curtains; defunct AC's; no fridge or microwaves, etc. This is the best Embassy Suites, but the non-existent dark curtains is truly bad for someone who needs a dark room

We had a great stay at this hotel. Its proximity to the airport and downtown Portland was convenient. While the suites were smaller than what we're used to, they were still comfortable, and the interior of both the rooms and the hotel itself had a classy feel. The breakfast options were plentiful, and the omelet station was a particularly nice touch. It was great to be able to order a customized omelet, and it was included in the room charge. Although they offered pancakes one day and French toast the next, we did miss having a waffle maker, but this was not a major issue. In the evenings, they also provided free drinks and snacks, which were included in the room charge. The staff was polite and helpful, and overall, we would definitely stay here again.

My family got back from a 2-night stay, and it was really nice. I was researching a bit before booking and decided to choose embassy suites because of the many perks that they have to offer. I am writing this review to help people feel more reassured when booking it.

We stayed in room number 201 on the second floor and paid $222 for 2 nights. It was cheaper not booking directly from the hotel fyi.

The best parts about staying at this hotel:

It is a pet friendly hotel if you need to travel with your pet. The room layout is amazing and there is plenty of space for everything you need. Their prices is very affordable, and it also includes breakfast. Their breakfast is amazing! from bagels, muffins, cereal, whole kind of fruit, vegetables, and spreads, to eggs and cook to order omelets on the spot. It reminded me of a cruise buffet where you have variety of food that you can eat. You can eat at their restaurant seats or bring your food up to the room. Plenty of drinks available as well. It is very close to the airport and to the main locations/attractions in town. The staff is really friendly and accommodating. Every evening from 5pm to 6:30 pm they have an evening reception where each guest can get 2 free alcohol drinks (we got a long island iced tea and cranberry juice with a shot of Vodka and it was REALLY good!) Our kids were able to get soft drinks. In addition, they provide snacks as fruits and cheese, crackers, salads etc. with plenty of places to sit and relax. The bartender was really nice as well! Their room is pretty clean, and I didn't smell any dog/pet smells. They have containers that are mounted to the wall with a nice amount of: shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body lotion, and hand lotions. They all smell great and seemed to work well on my hair. That is nice because you won't need to bring anything like that from home. If you are worried about filling your water bottles: A. They have hot/cold water dispenser in the gym and B. You can get water refilled from the soda machine during breakfast. Pool is open until 10 pm and plenty of hours to enjoy breakfast from 6:30-10ish I believe.

A few things to note that were not the best but really not a big deal:

The room was pretty clean but: A. Our toilet seat has some dust and hair on it. B. The bathtub walls had hair balls on it, the silicone around the bathtub looked old and rusty and seemed as it needed to be replaced. The conditioner container was empty which comes to show that they don't really focus on checking that is all 100% before a guest checks in.

The room doors are pretty heavy and make loud noises when closed shut so it can be distracting if you are a light sleeper. In addition, some owners left their dog alone early morning, and the poor thing didn't stop barking and crying. It is a pet friendly hotel so you should take it in consideration. Also, you don't normally hear the planes, but might hear a few taking off.

The pool is standard, nothing too fancy but our kids had a blast in it with the provided beach balls by the hotel.

No hot tub, although many websites states that they have one. I called the hotel and that how I learned that while renovating the hotel, the hot tub was removed. This was a big deal for us, but we still decided to book it because of all the perks that this place has to offer.

The "Disadvantages" were not too big for us so all in all, we had a great stay, we recommend it, and we would definitely want to come...

This suite we had for 1 night came with a great room layout and was convenient to Portland Maine's downtown. We were near the Jetport but did not really notice the sound from our room. A sleeper sofa, t.v. desk, and lamps with small kitchen sink, fridge, and microwave in 1 room, and the other room had 2 queen beds with closet, full mirror, large sink and of course a separate bathroom. Great layout with door partitioning off the 2 rooms. Great for a large family. Then came the problems and there were many! The remote for the t.v. is extremely sensitive and a little confusing to use. The actual bathroom with toilet and shower is a little small and had many grout discolorations?? The queen beds were very uncomfortable and actually made the sides of my legs ache a little as i'm a side sleeper. The pillows were just not right so i'm glad i brought my own from home. The dresser had the typical 3 drawers and the t.v sat on top of it. We didn't use the pull out sofa bed in the first room but i wish i had at least tried to use sofa for a bed. maybe my legs would not have ached so much. One last room item to note was that the heater made a pulsating noise that was really bothersome. Perhaps i wouldn't have been able to use it due to the heater noise. The breakfast was a little better than i expected in the variety of offerings but the taste of the pancakes, omelet made to order, and sugar free syrup was horrible!!! When we first arrived and saw the layout we were quite pleased. The front desk was nice enough as well. That being said, the room just had too many problems for us to come back and we were glad to only have stayed 1 night.

As an update to this review we have been contacted by Hilton and they have made things right by us for the horrible night we had at their hotel....

This review is meant for the bartender service . I’d like to state the front desk , housekeeping and everyone else at the hotel was great. The hotel offers a complimentary cocktail hour . The bartender there who I’m not sure of her name doesn’t seem to like this service and was very vocal about complaining as soon as I went to get my wife a Cabernet. I walked to the bar and she said you’re going to have to wait . I said ok as I simply walked to the bar . She then went in very clearly complaining how everyone leaves after the complimentary drinks. I could see why as she seems like a miserable person to spend any time with . As I waited patiently I tapped the bar with a card . She looked back as if somehow insulted her . I’m not sure if she said something g but I could clearly tell this woman has some issue with me . When she came up to me I said I’m not tapping at you at all and was polite but she got my ire up for sure . She then goes on to say how she has sensory issues . I had plenty of retorts but kept them to myself . I walked away with the drink and was extremely frustrated and annoyed n got knowing looks from other patrons at the bar like I saw what you put you up with. This woman is really a detriment to an otherwise helpful and friendly staff and if she has issues like she said why is she a bartender ? If the place offers this service she shouldn’t make patrons feel bad about taking advantage of it . I always tip service but wasn’t about to for this rude woman who for some reason seemed to have it out for me . Otherwise the stay was great rooms were clean and fro t desk was very friendly and helpful. The bartender seems like she has some real issues and takes them out on patrons ....
