Starbucks — Restaurant in Portland

Hours for this store listed were supposed to be open until 3:30pm. After security, I walked by and saw a line, so I used the restroom first. Upon returning to the store, I was told they were closed, though there were people in line. It was 1:50pm. Having to travel the next 8 hours, all I wanted was a warm sandwich. What store closes at 1:50pm? I told the barista all I wanted was a sandwich, as she was grabbing one for another customer out of the fridge. She said “sorry, we are closed.” I said “please, all I want is a sandwich and I’m paying with the app. It will only take a second, please.” Her response was “I’m sorry, I can’t. I’m tired.” That immediately rubbed me the wrong way. Arbitrarily closing the line/store and refusing service due to a barista being tired is unacceptable. The manager was yelling at employees about their breaks and making coffee. It was clear English was not the servers first language so ordering took a little longer and the manager was clearly very mad (unreasonably so.) I didn't care about ordering taking a little longer but I felt horrible for the other women because of how her manager talked to her. It reminded me of intolerable bosses of my past. She clearly only added stress to the workplace. Maybe she thought raising her voice made her more clear or something.

On top of this my coffee wasn't made correctly, I'm sure they would have fixed it and apologized if I had complained but I was just not wanting to go back to the stress. Super disappointed in my fellow Mainers 👎👎👎 This is not what I expect...

I ordered a hot chocolate. The cup had a lid on it. The minute I brought the cup to my lips I could smell that it was coffee. I took a taste of it and although I am not a coffee drinker I could taste that it was black coffee. I took it back and told them I ordered hot chocolate but that I had gotten coffee. The girl behind the counter took the lid off. She was pouring it into the sink. I could see that it was very dark and very fluid. Much more than hot chocolate ever would be. And she said," that was definitely hot. Chocolate." Told her not to bother making me anything else and I left. I drink Hot chocolate every single day of my life.
