I've been staying here for 3 weeks now and it's very obvious that in my personal experience in my opinion best western doesn't like black people. I have had 3 rooms since staying here due to booking by my employer who I'm currently under contract with so will omit there name but the room before my current room was filthy, nasty and unclean. Food was left on top of my dresser in room 135 I called front desk they sent housekeeping she removed food but didn't dust the dresser where food was left how can you clean rooms daily but leave God only knows food on top of dreeser for how long OK we past that same day I'm laying in the bed I see out of the corner of my eye tan spider run across my head board I go down stairs and let front desk know she tells me your a big guy you aren't afraid of a spider are you? Then she states if your so unhappy maybe you should just go some where else. So because I address the cleanliness of my room your telling me basically screw you and we have contracts with your companies and we don't care because as long as you don't break rules we got these rooms locked in and you gone stay here. My first week staying here me and my wife had items come up missing after conversating with others who are staying here they had items missing as well one person said there Medicine was missing. Fast forward to week 3 we are moved into new rooms this week my wife says her room smells like urine and upon inspecting bathroom she states there was urine left in toilet bowl and on top of toilet seat she calls down stairs and front desk ask who did it your husband; no I know to lift toilet up and to flush the toilet ma'am. So in summary maybe best western isn't racist maybe there just a crappie hotel and maybe there generally rude and place all people in dirty rooms but either way if you don't want to stay up scratching and itching, if you don't like your stuff being stolen if you don't want to possibly get bit by a spider if you don't want to be treated like a 3rd class citizen don't stay at best western portsmouth nh and I love all people and give people benefit of doubt which was why I waited 3 weeks but enough is enough this hotel sucks. Wrote this review on 10-01 and was informed I have to leave 10-02 by 11am you tell the truth and they try to hurt you but this to shall pass. Update 10-13 I had package pre order so I was unable to change address it was delivered by usps and if I'm too believe mail man over hotel worker it was and Debbie night Manger said she took in all mail on 2nd and my package wasn't there we all know what really happened to it dont get packages delivered to this location in portsmouth nh now I stayed at Hampton location it was amazingly friendly and clean. 11/06 just received a letter from Mark woolley he basically killed a tree to recap everything that happen but never apologized true scum. If your African American don't allow these oppressors to gain your business...

My husband & I checked in last night Jan 7,2019 around 7:30pm, he is a truck driver so he had called ahead & the lady told him where he should park & how to get around to the extra lot, and after meny calls to her trying to find the place, missing exits, turns, & everything else we finally arrived, we were expecting someone rude, after the calling & because thats about all we have ran into up north but to our surprise the lady behind the desk was VERY welcoming & was so helpful! Once we got to our room everything seemed fine, besides the room was super cold, so we turned the air off & turned the heat on & after almost an hour the room was still very chilly, as I went to check out the unit I noticed there was cold outside air coming in all around the unit, i guess they didnt seal it off after installation, so we called to the front desk & explained what was going on & asked for a couple extra blankets to try to put around the unit to try to block the cold from coming in, but she said she would be right down to our room to check it out,she came in & quickly noticed the same we did so she gave us the options of staying on the first floor but we would be put in a double bed room instead of the king that we currently was in or we could move to the 3rd floor & keep the king bed & she would bring us a cart to move our stuff, we chose to keep a king bed so she brought us keys to the new room & a cart & was very apologetic, which it wasn't her fault & she did the best she could to accommodate us. She was so sweet & really felt she sincerely ment when she said she felt bad for us, we was just chatting with her during all of this and we both have never met anyone up north that treated us so kindly & was also very professional! I wish more hotels & businesses had more employees like her, I didnt even catch her name but she was definitely one of a kind, sweet lady, & us being from the south we loved her northern accent. Overall we were very satisfied & if we are ever back in the area we will definitely be stopping here & hopefully she will be there to help us, not someone rude! Oh & we woke up to snow, something we rarely get in Alabama⛄❄ We were parked facing the side entrance, in the extra lot across from the regular parking lot so my picture is facing towards the hotel & hotel...

First and foremost I would just like to say I am deeply under satisfied with my stay. I am a frequent traveler and I went out of my way to stay here with my fiancé and 2 children. What we saw online, verse what we received was completely different.

The pool was listed as heated. It was so cold my kids couldn’t even get in the pool. Secondly, we were told we had to make reservations to use the pool and both times we went it was still in use and people arriving / coming in early. We notified the front desk lady (Saturday around 520 PM during our a lot) and she told me wife to “do it yourself”. Unbelievable. Also while on the pool subject i paid extra money and traveled farther from my primary location of Hampton beach because you guys listed you have a jacuzzi. My fiancé literally made her choice of hotels because of this feature. When we get into the hallway to walk to the pool, it’s disgusting with a house keeper / houseman smoking in the hallway. No where online did it mention under construction or anything.

The room looked nice when we first arrived. We checked in and left for 4-5 hours to go out to dinner and the arcade. When we came back the bathroom door handle was broken. Not allowing anyone to shut the door fully or lock it for any privacy. The silverware was filthy also.

When I asked for a pillow around 11 pm I was told they had none. And it was downstairs and she’s to busy. (Same person who checked us in). I let it go and went on with my night. My fiancé called the front desk late, to ask for breakfast plans if the hotel had any. We found out around 1am that we were suppose to have a voucher for breakfast. Unbelievable, we would of missed out on that too. Lastly, the diner was awful and terrible service. I don’t think it’s your business but I wanted to at least let you know.

Finally the price was just ridiculous compared to other options that could of accommodated our very easy needs. I was given a email confirmation and receipt for 266 and was charged 288. This...
