Found this diner by accident on the way from New York to Maine. It looked nice enough, clean and a nice 50s theme, but then the adventure started. I ordered coffee for a drink before dinner and it comes and no creamers and I could not even stir any sugar in as no spoon or stirring device was brought either. After several minutes I got a spoon and creamers. I ordered the Open face turkey sandwich, and in the picture it shows the plate with a nice set of turkey sandwich , stuffing and mashed potatoes. When it came , it came with not the mashed potatoes in the picture but french fries. Kind of greasy ones at that. And I could not even eat my turkey and stuffing as it also came without any silverware. After another several minutes I got my silverware. When I mentioned the odd fact that it came not with the mashed potatoes pictured on the menu, but with french fries, the waitress confirmed that she knew that and thought that it was kind of strange as well, but oddly failed to mention this to me when I order it. I've never seen turkey and stuffing ever come with french fries versus potatoes. Had I known this, I probably would have ordered the BLT and saved myself five bucks. My daughter's meal seemed good and she had some ice cream for dessert which was fine and came in good order. The total dinner came to approximately $40. A 20% tip on that would be $8. I paid by card and asked for change from a 20 to give a cash tip. Instead of getting a 10, 5 and five $1, she brings a 10 and two 5s !?? Did she really think I was going to give her a $10 tip which would amount to 25%? I was going to leave a 5 based on the service and the food. But my daughter being the kind soul that she is added a dollar she had to it, making a $6, 15% tip. Based on the experience as a whole, I think a 10% tip would have been more than generous. Based on my experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend...
Read moreMy sister and I stayed at the Best Western which was conveniently located right next to the Roundabout. I want to say that the best part of our two dining experiences there was the first one, though it wasn't the food. The restaurant was busy but the host and our server, a young woman were very kind and attentive. The following morning, the hotel provided us with vouchers for two free breakfasts. We opted for the choice of two eggs, home fries, sausage, toast and coffee or orange juice. Our server was a seemingly harried, middle-aged man with no table side manner whatsoever, who seemed bothered by the fact we were even there when he learned our breakfast was free, probably because he thus expected no tip. He was gruff, abrupt, and we found him to be rather rude. When we received our breakfast, we each (my sister and I) had an incomplete portion of a dinner sausage of some kind (definitely NOT breakfast sausage). It appeared someone had grabbed the sausage, broken it into uneven halves, and tossed them onto our plates. When I asked about this, the server gave some kind of excuse and blamed the hotel, saying nothing about the appearance of the sausage pieces, which neither of us ate because there was no way of knowing who had handled it and how. Beyond all this, the food tasted cheap, from the breakfast food to the small (8 oz.) chocolate frappe I ordered after, which came to just under $6. My tip for the server? Though I customarily tip well, I wrote on the receipt: "Develop better customer relations." I don't expect to ever...
Read moreMe and my two coworkers came here to order takeout after a long day of work. The server we had was Dezary A (according to receipt).
All together we spent over $100 for food to take out. The woman stormed to the back to gossip to her coworkers “not one tip”. My coworker ended up tipping his last $8 in cash. She held up that $8 as we left and was still talking trash to her associates. I can’t stand a foul ungrateful spirit. I thank the most high Yahuah my Elohiym for blessing me with the gift of discernment. If that same woman would have saw me or one of my coworkers homeless on the street she wouldn’t have spared a dime. My ancestors put in decades of hard labor UNPAID and tortured and STILL survived… never complaining, something you wouldn’t understand or relate to at all. The fact that we stopped in to make a purchase was ENOUGH. You see Black and Hispanic people and just give stiff nasty looks with your nose up… so much hate in your empty heart vessel when it was YOUR people doing harm to US over and over to this day. I started writing a note on the back of the receipt and was going to humbly give it to her personally but she chose to continue gossiping… so I chose to express my experience on Google. Won’t be coming back here. Food was bland. Poor customer service. I’ll post a picture of myself too because even through the constant hate I receive from wicked individuals STILL I shine, STILL I RISE!! For those who hate Yahuah love death. I choose LIFE and will have it more abundantly. Yadah...
